Title: rearming

Rayo - November 2, 2008 05:38 AM (GMT)
The archer entered the pawn shop, taking in the sights again. It had been a while since he was last in here, but Rayo would be out quickly if he had any say in the matter. To no one in particular he stated his inquiry.

"How much for the Golden Royal Crossbow?"

Nizam - November 2, 2008 06:02 AM (GMT)
Looking up from a digitalized magazine, the pawnkeep appeared slightly annoyed. He looked back down. "That'll be 7,100 GP for you, Twinkle Toes."

Rayo - November 2, 2008 06:23 AM (GMT)
The pawnshop attendant seemed annoyed to begin with, hardly a good start. Did the ex-wavemaster have anything of value to offer up in exchange while most of his goods were tied up elsewhere? After rummaging through a few pouches, pockets, and portable holes he came up with just a tad bit more than string and Halloween candy.

"What do you think you might be able to offer me if I included Ronin Blades and a Winter Coat. The first can be used to take care of any vermin issues and the latter is well known for helping travelers brave even the chilliest winds."

Digging a little deeper, the archer revealed another item, but one that normally didn't sell for anything at all.

"I know you probably don't accept key items, but this Bottle of Alcohol could be nice to share with some of the other workers here. Even if you don't personally want it, it might by chance be part of some silly and overly long item trade chain that you need for shoe sandwiches."

Nizam - November 2, 2008 06:32 AM (GMT)
For probably the first time in the history of the shop, the customer would find Nizam smiling. Really smiling. "You know...with those taken into account and that bottle of hooch? We're looking at..." the math was quickly done. "I'd say you'd only owe me about 5,000 GP then, Prometheus."

Rayo - November 2, 2008 06:37 AM (GMT)
The deal seemed like a good one, and the archer was ready to stop bargaining, except that this was supposed to be a new beginning, and he had far too much on hand as it was. Also, he was forming some ideas on what to do with the money he was expecting. Unfortunately, that meant it was not going to be the newest member of his wallet.

"That sounds fair. I have some other items I realized I should probably part with while I'm in town though. Where would we be for a balance if I included an Emperor's Soul and perhaps eight Artisan's Souls as well?"

Nizam - November 2, 2008 06:42 AM (GMT)
The shopkeep quickly did the math, ending it with a whistle. "Well, I believe I'd owe you 11,000 GP, Daddy Warbucks."

Rayo - November 2, 2008 06:48 AM (GMT)
Sweet. That was the first thought that passed through his mind. A new bow and enough cash to buy pretty much whatever he could need counted as a successful shopping adventure. Still, if he stuck around here too much longer he'd end up with a fifth nickname. There had only been three so far, but Nizam would probably get one more in as he tried to leave. Auth set the Ronin Blades, Winter Coat, Emperor's Soul, 8 Artisan's Souls, and the Bottle of Alcohol on the counter.

"Dea...what?"

The flashmail he had received bothered him. The player had wanted an improvement in terms of ranged weaponry and searched for a piece of the Royal Golden pair. Ultimately he had discovered the lesser of the two, only to find out as he was finishing the deal that the better one was now his. Buying the crossbow would be silly now however. Once you took an item from a shop and equipped it you lost half the retail value and Auth wasn't likely to use it if he already had the bow.

"I'm sorry. According to a flashmail that just popped up some friends sent me a similar item already that I was unaware of. Would it be possible to forget about the crossbow and I'll just sell you the items already mentioned? There is something else I'm considering buying, but I only will have about half the money I need to get it.

Also, if you ever are looking for a refill, try talking to a certain crazy fist fighter. He's...unique, so I don't think you'll miss him if you encounter each other."

Nizam - November 2, 2008 07:57 AM (GMT)
Nizam's face settled into something disgruntled again. "Fine. Will 16,500 GP be enough for you, Greedy McGee?"

Rayo - November 2, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
Regardless of his attempt to keep the shopkeep in a pleasant mood, that blunder ruined it. The best that Rayo could do was finish the transaction and be on his way before he did something that lowered the price.

"Yes, that will be plenty. Thank you."
