Description: Not really mine, but note worthy.

The Company of Luris

Alright this is kind of a shameless plug, but not for me. My friend, who is one of the most amazing writers I've ever met, wrote the above book. He's been working on it for years and just now got it published and available to buy.

While he was working on it, he had me go through the book to proofread and critique it. He didn't want me writing in the book itself so he told me to put sticky notes on the back of the pages when I wanted to comment on something.

Heh.

I went through a block and a half of sticky notes. It was, to this date, one of the most amazing books I've ever read and even though I expressed some concern with areas of it, he accepted my critique and at least made a note to explore my opinions. I haven't read the finished product yet but am going to very soon. But it can only be better than the copy I had.

The description really doesn't do it justice, it's so much more deep than that and even if you're not into fantasy, this book would make you like the genre. Honestly, download it or buy it. Completely worth every penny and it's not that expensive anyways. Plot twists and such abound, and as a result makes for a very mentally stimulating read.

Give it a try, and if any of you finish it in the near future, go ahead and post your thoughts in this thread.

I personally can't wait for his sequel.

P.S. He doesn't know I'm plugging it for him so I'm not just saying this cause I'm his friend. lol

Small update, he changed the title, cover and got rid of his pseudonym.

Again, looks childish at first but I sincerely recommend this book to any self-respecting lover of books out there.

Interesting... I'll give it a try, I think... but $19 for a paperback? Holy wallet sucker!

Do you have any word as to how widely this book has been distributed? I'm not going to buy it based on someone's opinion (no offense), but if it's available at my local Borders or Barnes & Noble I'll definitely look it up and give it a shot...

EDIT: Just loaded the page, and I'm fairly certain that I have the font used on the cover of that book...

Fuzz, it's a large print paperback (at least I think), so I think that explains the cost. But awesome, let me know what you think about it when ya get it, and I can relay that to him. ^^

And Jpec, I'm pretty sure, since he's self-published that it's not going to be showing up in any major book stores. It may be in some of the local stores up here but other than I don't think it's gonna be at your local B&N, at least for now.

And he's got a few sample pages in there for you to read if that would be enough to convince you. *shrugs*
