Title: Question
Description: For Active players

I encountered something strange in a dungeon a few days ago...basically I ended up getting beat by some odd monsters and a character that looked like a Wavemaster.
...though that wasn't the problem. The problem was that I actually felt heat from his fire spell! Sounds crazy I know but it's true.
So basically I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I may be relatively "new" to the game but i certainly have a grasping of the concepts, and me experiencing a burning sensation can't be real, right?

While this isn't the first time I have heard something like this, it is the first time I will actually respond.
I think a lot of players get way too into this game. This isn't your lives, guys! It's been proven that if you want to, you can make your body feel a lot of things it shouldn't, so I think you're just getting too in to it. I met someone who convinced themselves they were pregnant, and I don't think it is too far of stretch to say that if she gained the weight and felt her "baby" kicking, you could feel imaginary heat.
Forgive me for saying it, but relax, man. It's just a game.

I knew someone would respond this way. I'm not "getting too into it". It's like...it's like I could actually feel heat coming from my VR goggles. I know it sounds crazy, but there has to be someone else who...
...
Nevermind. Forget I ever asked.

Maybe you have one of those new helmet thingies that give your nerves a slight jolt when you get damaged or temperature shifts or something.
Another possible scenario is that it's just a really hot day and your VR Helm was getting heated and you felt heat that way. Just a thought.

If your FMD is giving off heat just use the monitor like any other MMO.

Yeah, what kind of helmet are you using?
I recently bought a PESD (Psychological Experience Simulation Device), and it's really awesome! It kind of hypnotizes your brain into thinking that your avatar is your actual body, so you feel what it feels. I realize that sounds like a pretty stupid idea, considering the amount of pain the typical avatar goes through in this game, but it has pain dampeners so it really doesn't hurt too bad. It only sucks if your character gets REALLY beat up, and even then there's an option to turn pain off altogether. I love it because you can like, feel the wind ruffle your hair and the grass against your feet, and that sort of thing. It just lets you really escape into another world.
And Centrus, this isn't my life, but that doesn't mean I don't want it to feel real. It isn't JUST a game; it's another World!
So... if you have PESD, it could explain it. But they're made by a different company, not CCCorp, so if you're using the one that came packages with the game, I dunno. Maybe self-hypnosis? If a VR helmet can convince my brain that I'm really feeling the game, then maybe you can make yourself sort of feel it on your own.

PESD, huh...I think i'll look into getting one of those.
The headset I used was just the one that came with the program, but I think getting this "simulating" headset could do the trick.
Thanks
