Title: URUVEI & Co Caricatures Booth

Chase Raven - April 29, 2008 01:52 AM (GMT)
((Changed to Vei's name cause I won't be around to help out anymore, and she did the most here anyway.))

Among the many booths with fancy signs, one sign stands out. Instead of having a neat, typewritten appearance, it is handwritten with what appears to be crayons.

The booth is mostly three walls arranged in a squared-off U shape. There is no floor and no ceiling. The forementioned sign hangs between the two parallel walls, facing the "aisle" formed between the rows of booths created specially for this event. The walls are painted a sort of greyish rose color (Chase's favorite) and inside of the booth, 4 easels and 8 chairs are arranged such that one chair is in front of the easel and one chair is behind it. Next to the chair behind the easel are an array of artist's tools--graphite, colored pencils, pastels, paints. A huge stack of canvases are in the back of the room, ready to be used, and a clean, fresh canvas waits on each easel.

Sitting behind the easel most to the booth's left is a tiny character in a shirt colored similar to the booth's walls, except it is a few shades darker. She looks mostly like she normally does, except her ram's horns have been taken off for this event, just because she is probably going to be seen by a lot of people. Her furry brown ears and tail remain, though, and anybody who looks carefully would be able to see them. The horns were a little too much, though.

Stuck to her chest is a nametag in handwriting that matches the banner above the booth--"Hello, I'm Chase." She waits in her chair, slightly slumped, for her art partners and potential models to arrive.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HELLO! Welcome to The Delta Fair's finest Caricatures Booth!
If you would like to be drawn (I'm assuming you do, because you're here) please read below. :3

Steps to being drawn!
1. Come to the booth.
2. Make sure there is an accurate description of your character in the post.
3. Wait.

Getting your Drawing
There is no way to determine which artist will draw your character--you might get Chase, you might get Urufu, you might get Uruvei, you might get Clearing... or you might get more than one of them--yay! The only way to find out who is drawing your character is to wait, or ask the artists yourself. (:
Your drawing should be up AT MOST a week after you post. I'm going to say it's up to the artist to choose what medium they want to use to draw your character--it could be traditional mediums or it could be a digital drawing. Also, I'm going to say the artist can draw whatever they want of your character--a bust (that's art talk for shoulders up), half-figure or full-figure.

I will personally make sure that nobody is left out.

Have fun. (:

edit--oh, also, we may or may not draw you in the order you post in. All I'm going to say if you should have your drawing within a week of when you posted your request.

Uruvei - May 1, 2008 04:14 AM (GMT)
Uruvei entered the little alcove with a nod and a friendly smile to Chase. She settled into her chair and stretched her arms before her, fingers interlaced. All the joints of her hands and arms popped exquisitely, and the girl followed it up with a careful movement of her neck, to pop those joints as well.

As usual, the latte-skinned longarm was decked out in her decadent royal purple. The rich, dark color over her leotard matched her boots, but today she was missing her gloves. She'd learned long ago that hand ornaments tend to impede the delicate manipulations she needed for her art-making. Also missing were her silver shoulder plates and the armor she wore around her waist. The Fair was about relaxing and having fun, not fighting, so she felt she wouldn't need it. Proudly displayed, however, were Uruvei's cat ears and tail - rare items, not hacks. If all the artists of this caricature booth had animal extremities, perhaps the customers would take it as the style of the booth and not ask too many questions.

It was hot out here. Uruvei could feel herself starting to sweat already, in the sultry heat, and the sun was only a few hours old. She wasn't looking forward to laboring in the middle of the day, when the touch of her palm would dampen the paper and ruin any charcoal or chalk attempts. Perhaps she would have to modulate that parameter of her hypno-helmet's influence. She didn't want to spend the day sweating in her computer chair, either. After a few moment's thought, Vei decided to kick off her knee-high purple boots and go barefoot. Her legs were a little lighter-skinned below the knee, having never been exposed to the sunlight. Also revealed for the first time: the same triangular markings on her left cheek and forearm also decorated the corresponding shin. Although it rarely did her any good, these markings bound her to the Rai Wave - thunder. For now, a certain sensitivity to that element told her that there might be a thunderstorm late in the afternoon. She'd have to watch the skies and make sure that none of the art was ruined by a surprise shower.

Teishu - May 2, 2008 09:13 PM (GMT)
*steps behind Dien*

Teishu wears a blue long sleeved shirt with U markings scattered across it. The shirt has black lines lining down each side and a white circle with multiple lines spreading out throughout the shirt. His long, light blue pants come down to his boots. He wears a dark blue cape around him that usually covers his whole body, but only shows it when he raises his staff to cast a spell. The brown gloves that he wears have red lines coming up to the fingernails where they stop, showing the tips of his fingers. He has no cap on. He wears brown boots on his feet that usually have black and brown stains from mud on them. On his cheeks are two Y markings on each side.

Eye color- Ocean Blue
Height- 5’5”
Hair color- Jet-black

Have fun! (:

Uruvei - May 3, 2008 07:32 PM (GMT)
A man with messy, brick-red hair sat down in front of Uruvei's easel without a word. Uruvei tilted her head to the side, regarding him with interest. Why did he look so familiar..?

"Ah!" The purple-haired girl reached for a portfolio and flipped recklessly through it until she pulled out a large piece of paper with a blue ink sketch on it.

"I remember you. We fought in a duel once. I sketched this afterward, although I seem to have missed a few details..." The girl added in a few things, like the ragged scars around his arm sockets and the weird hole that went straight through his chest. Then she whipped out a set of acrylic paints and went to work coloring the sketch. When she was done, the effect pleased her. She carefully unclipped the painting from her easel and handed it to Dien.

"Hope you like it!"

((Most of the drawings I make won't be this detailed; as I said, I already had the lineart for Dien, so all I did for this was color it.))

Shenmock - May 3, 2008 10:05 PM (GMT)
Won't hurt to do one...and I'm sure that this place'll become crowded soon...so, here goes nothing. (:

Class: Fist Fighter
Clothing: The first adjective that comes to mind when you first see Shenmock is white. Shenmock wears a white jacket over a light blue T-shirt. He wears white shorts with a few black markings on them. It also has a few pockets. He wears gloves and sandals like ones that you'd find in an anime show. He now wears a cloak over his body, but tends not to use the hood. The cloak is black with a few white markings. He sometimes takes it off when he goes to battle, but usually keeps it on for the majority of quests.

Eye color: Emerald green
Height: 5'8"
Hair color: Light Blue

Rowan - May 3, 2008 10:21 PM (GMT)
The line at the characture booth was filling in quickly and it sounded like fun. The Heavy Blade had her eye on a couple other booths as well, but they didn't have any lines at them yet and she was sure this one would get nothing but longer.

"Better do this one first so I have time for the others."

((OOC:

Rowan has a slightly layered look. She wears a one piece black nylon garment underneath of the outer layers. It is more like a v-neck tank top at the shoulders, running down into shorts that stop about mid-thigh. Atop this one piece is a short golden colored shirt. The collar stands firm around the neck and the shoulders are covered but the cloth of the shirt stops shy of going into sleeves, leaving bare feminine, yet muscular arms. The shirt stops at the mid section where you can see a small part of the black one-piece show through. Although there are buttons that line the center of the shirt from the neck to the mid-drift, Rowan typically only has the bottom two buttons clasped leaving the top half open allowing the black one piece to show through here as well. She wears a brown leather skort that stops just below the black one piece underneath. The first inside layer of the skirt is like a pair of shorts made of a thinner more flexible type of leather, where as the second outer layer is more dense and firm acting more like a piece of armor, slit on either side to allow for movement. Brown leather wristbands cover both arms from the wrist up about four inches. Rai wave signs are inlayed onto each wristband. The outfit is finished off with tan leather mountain boots.

Eyes: Ice Blue
Hair: Shoulder length dark brown hair. Layered to frame her face

I know the description is...confusing. PM/IM me if you have any questions.

Otherwise...Have Fun! ^_^))

Jpec07 - May 6, 2008 06:23 AM (GMT)
"Well that was quick," Dien replied, taking the drawing off the girl's hands, "thanks. As he left, he dropped a folded slip of paper on the counter. On it was a tip: "Look both ways before crossing the street." With that, he walked off to rejoin his usual party of misfits.

Centrus - May 6, 2008 07:28 AM (GMT)
The Fist Fighter found himself standing in yet another line at the Delta Fair. The rest of the people in the time-killer seemed to be interesting enough, most especially the recently class-changed former duel opponent. Cent smiled for half of a second. He was glad to see the people he knew advancing in this game. Waiting patiently, he began reading the paper in his hand, ensuring the description was perfect.

Clothing: Thick black boots cover the Fist Fighter's feet, offering a steel-toed option in combat. As one moved up, they discover his choice in leg coverings. Black and grey meld and repel to create the blending that can be seen on his cargo pants. A black belt keeps the pants held in place, and dangling from the accessory is a small pouch that holds all of his necessary items. A black jacket covers his chest, zipper bisecting the jacket in an obvious silver line. A mesh overlay covers the underarm and side sections of the jacket, but it returns to the black material at the sleeves. Red-brown gloves cover his hands, a white emblem bearing a wolf howling at the full moon residing on the back side of them. A tattered red cape rests on his back, the shoulder sections joined together by a circular gold clasp. A simple design lives on the clasp, a three-pronged swirl. The significance of this is known to the Fist Fighter, but the sharing of such knowledge is a rare event.
Eye Color: The eyes themselves are a stunning shade of amber, almost yellow, speckled with black spots. If enough time is spent staring into them, one would notice that they nearly create a negative of the night sky, but few ever give the thought to look for this long.
Hair: A silver sheen covers his already grey hair. The differing grays create a layered effect to his hair, making the bottom of the eye length hair appear even longer. It is rarely "acceptable", as a mother would say, and is always being thrown about by a wind that only it seems to feel.

Oh yes, it was perfect. Things would be great.

Chase works quickly with a pen to produce a bust sketch of Teishu.

After pinning the picture on the wall behind her for display, she gets to work on the next person. :"D

((It doesn't really look like what I had in mind for Teishu but I like it, so I hope you do too? Dx

Also, Shenny, you have to wait til I finish other people's before I'm going to do your Shenmock one, sorry!))

Uruvei - May 12, 2008 01:50 AM (GMT)
Uruvei noticed a character in black and white standing politely in line. He had a serious look about him, and Uruvei couldn't figure out what class he was right away. Then, looking at his gloves, she realized he must be a Fist Fighter.

Oooh, those are rare!

She smiled and indicated for him to hold still while she sketched his face. She made a few attempts that didn't come out the way she wanted, then finally hit on something that she liked. She hoped Shenmock would also like it.

Blue pencils and prisma markers later, Uruvei handed the drawing to Shenmock.

^ Rowan.

Sorry it looks so bad. My digital art has suffered from lack of doing it for a million years.
I'll do something better for you with a pen when I'm not so busy.

it got really blurry when I saved it. :/ sorry!

Locke - May 13, 2008 12:22 AM (GMT)
Baron walked into the Caricatures shop, looking around to see who was in it. However, he was unfamiliar with the various players running the shop, with the exception of Uruvei, whom he had met during the Army of Darkness's meeting with the Advent Dynasty and then recently played a rousing game of 3-D Tic-Tac-Toe. Looking around, Baron decided that it'd be a bit of fun to do get a caricature for himself, so he walked up to the nearest artist and checked his outfit, making sure it was alright.

Burning-orange light shone on dark-black hair, lightening its overall tone, though only barely. The hair was about chin-length on the sides, and shoulder-length in the back, but it was tied into a ponytail with a strip of blackened leather. Silver eyes caught the same light, catching it and shimmering with the same orange color, though dulled somewhat in the reflection. A black jacket set over the player’s silver shirt absorbed all of the light, but the golden symbol for Libra, an omega with a single horizontal line beneath it, shimmered brightly in the fiery light. A gray bandana wrapped around the man’s left arm, marked with a half-moon, and a similar marking appeared on the back of the same hand, visible through a rectangular cut in the back of his glove. Twin sheaths hung over a pair of dark-green cargo pants, tucked into a pair of belts hanging in an X-shape and marking the player as a Twin Blade. Those in turn hung over a pair of heavy boots.

((OOC: I'm fine with anyone EXCEPT FOR CLEARING (she does my character often enough, if you read the PSWs) doing the drawing, though I'd prefer Uruvei to do it, since she hasn't tried it before. :3))

Uruvei - May 15, 2008 03:06 AM (GMT)
Uruvei looked up and noticed that the next in line was another Fist Fighter.

Wow, they're really coming out of the woodwork today...

She worked carefully for a while, and produced something that she rather liked.

"Here you go, sir."

"Holy crap," the Fist Fighter squealed. "Marry me. That is awesome. Okay, no marriage, but damn.... Thank you!" The played threw his arms around the Long Arm in a quick embrace before walking off in another squeal of delight.

Rowan - May 15, 2008 05:46 AM (GMT)
Rowan spied the sketch of herself. The artist had done a great job. But there was something off about the picture when finally the Heavy Blade realized what it was and she laughed.

"Thank you very much. It's perfect! Next time I'll try to remember to smile."

She turned and walked away with a chuckle and a large grin across her face, continuously admiring the sketch as she walked through the crowd of people, not even realizing she was going against the general flow of people that were headed in the opposite direction.

Magras - May 16, 2008 03:02 AM (GMT)
Should we even be here? I don't have that much time, you know.

Relax, kiddo. Vix didn't give us a time limit, and she said that she'd have that vaccine ready soon. Let's just take it easy and enjoy the events while we can.

Since when were you so laid back? Fine, let's find a booth to visit.

The Blademaster wandered through the fair grounds, booths lining up on either side of the golden city's designated playground. The fun and games ranged from throwing a weapon at a target to dunk a certain player, to standing in an area waiting to be charred. None of the minigames seemed to offer any short-time (survivable) activities, and the boy was about to leave, when a single booth caught his attention. The booth was being run by four ladies, and they were doing caricatures. Looks interesting, the boy thought to himself as he approached the booth. He took a seat in line and waited, a bit of GP dangling in his pocket as he did so. A small slip of paper was in his hand, and he waited, closing his eyes and feeling a slight imaginary breeze.

((Clothing: A simple long-sleeved light-blue shirt covers his torso, with the sleeves widening as they reach his hands. Worn silver gloves hide his hands, save for the knuckles which show through a small hole over the knuckles. He replaced his boots with small dark green running shoes, easier to fight in than the boots. A pair of silk dark-green pants complete his simple outfit.

Hair: His hair is a shoulder-length dark red.

Eye colour: Kashi's eyes have developed into a vibrant dark green, with a tinge of brown in the left iris.

Not sure if it's acceptable >_< I'll PM the artist if there's confusion.))

Uruvei - May 22, 2008 01:47 AM (GMT)
Uruvei laughed at the silver-haired fistfighter's reaction.

Suddenly, Chase stood up abruptly.

"Sorry, I have to go, and I won't be back. It's your booth now..."

Uruvei blinked, and opened her mouth to say something, but Chase had already gated out. She wasn't quite sure how to take the abruptness of it. However, there had been tension in Chase's voice... Uruvei trusted that there must be a good reason for the sudden exit. Keeping her thoughts to herself, Uruvei glanced around and spotted the second guy to come along, right behind Dien, still standing around. She decided to do a quick painting of him while she settled her thoughts.

Zan - May 22, 2008 08:09 PM (GMT)
*Steps in line as well, quoting info he used in another thread a while back.*

QUOTE
Clothing: Black pants and an equally dark knee-length open leather coat adorns his figure, complimented by the dark green shirt that gloats a tight capture of his chiseled features, features given to him by the natural prowess of the Beast. The coat itself is topped off with a big leather hood; big enough to submerge his face into shadows when pulled up completely. The same coat has seams and tribal markings of a dark green shade over its surface, almost indistinguishable against the black of the leather. A metal-balled necklace with the full moon drooping from its "center" hangs from his neck, sunlight bouncing off its surface to shine spots of light onto the raven leather of his boots. Fingerless leather gloves tighten nicely on his hands followed by metal cuffs that extend six inches from his wrist down. The cuffs are a sleek, black and otherworldly metal, equally dark and hard to see tribal designs decorating their surface. In the center of each, where others might have a jewel, are wolfish eyes that glow a fiery green, eyes that belong to Nulus in his hidden state.
Eyes: A glacial, Siberian Husky blue.
Hair: Dark brown and a tad wavy, falling just short of his shoulders.
Height: Six feet even.
Personality: Due to his family situation (see Story), he tends not to be very aggressive when it comes to making social connections. He wears a very stern and almost stoic demeanor, but his need to protect those around him and those he cares for makes him a caring softy of sorts at his core. He would never show it, never admit to it, but it's there. Some have also referred to him as a 'lovable asshole,' so that's something as well.
Special: The left side of his face is adorned with burn scars (from silver IC, but you can change how he got them if you wish) and his left eye flickers between his blues and the amber of the wolf (this you can have as just a wolf eye all the time, if you wish). Also, when anger or any other intense motion plays through him, both eyes tend to melt into the amber eyes of a wolf. The scars aren't needed, but I just thought I'd give him how he is now so you can adapt how you need to.
Weapon: He's a Heavy Blade IC and I'm sure you've seen enough anime involving people with those huge broad swords to know the kind of design he uses.

Teishu - May 23, 2008 01:49 AM (GMT)
The Wavemaster was surprised to see that there were two pictures. One looked a bit more different than the other. He gave a crooked smile at both of the girls before he left the store, his face bright and his eyes sparkling after seeing two portraits of himself. "Thanks!" he called as he left the store.

Stane - May 29, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
A groggy player stumbled into the fairgrounds like he hasn't seen the light in weeks. His eyes squinted at the sky as he shielded the rays with his leathered hand. Between him and the sky was a read and white sign that red "Welcome to the Delta Fair! Only|1| day(s) left!" Stane's eyes flared a bit. One day?! He rushed over to an insanely popular booth where he knew his best friend would be. Apparently, the group of artists had been working their fingers to the bone, but Stane wouldn't let his consideration get the better of him. He hopped into the back of the line and shifted his weight between his feet trying to get a better view of the action.

((OOC:
QUOTE (appearance stol'd from profile)
--Stane wears a Brown Leather jacket over a white undershirt. Through his travels, the coat has had the right shoulder chewed off (thank you slicer ><) along with the right sleeve of his white-T. The shirt and coat are jaggedly ripped like Ryu in Street Fighter tongue.gif. His skin is reasonably tan and his body is covered with not too exaggerated muscles indigenous to his class. Compare his skin tone to someone living in Mexico that is light for their race. It is not red, but olivey in its complexion. His legs are covered with comfortably-fit, black denim with a chain hanging out of his right pocket. The black leather boots on his feet are faded and worn, but are still comfortable. The jeans cover most of them.

6.eye color- Gray, with unusually small pupils. His eyes are more reserved than the normally gigantic eyes composed in anime - and a little narrower. Below his right eye, is a smooth scar resembling the left side of a parabola starting near the outside of his eye and ending in the middle of his cheek (elevator problems in Open the Door).

7.height- 6’1’’
8-hair- Stane's almost shoulder-length hair is gray with dark black streaks taking up about half of the volume of hair starting at the parting of his scalp. Most of the top is covered by his Baret who's lip is pointing outward and tilted slightly downward.

feel free to IM or PM me with questions about the appearance))

Clearing - May 31, 2008 04:29 PM (GMT)

Uruvei - June 2, 2008 05:29 AM (GMT)
Uruvei knew there was quite a line building up, but she noticed a spunky-looking character she just had to draw. She tried to make it quick, but ended up taking more time than she meant to making it look nice.

As she completed Rowan's portrait, Uruvei noticed that Clearing had appeared from somewhere.

"Hey! Glad to finally have you with us!" the kitty greeted the puppy.

I try to go quick... but I'm just not able to publish something I'm not proud of. So it means you wait a lot... but the quality of what you get will be nice. :3))

After hearing her name being called back to the Caricatures Booth, Rowan turned to see a second portrait being held up by one of the other artists. She was shocked indeed to see another picture and as she approached and got a better look, it was a very well done one at that.

"Thank You! It's a perfect likeness and I love that you did it in color."

She walked away with an even bigger smile than before with both of her pictures safely tucked away.

((Uruvei! IT'S AWESOME!
