For the sake of Lyra, Ko and Kiwi, I'm asking.

The no hacks in in reference to boosts, attacks, etc., right? So... say, an FR or Ko wouldn't lost ears or fur. Kiwi's jacket remains impervious to dirt?

Seems stupid, but might actually change my strategy depending on the answer.

As always, "hacks" primarily means Main Plot Powerups. Anything that could cause an actual advantage or disadvantage in battle. XD Last I checked, the only disadvantage from my ears is that there's more of me to hide.

I think it's worth asking about one of my weapons and whether its use qualifies as an advantage. Some time ago, I received the Demonic Sword as a reward and Nighthand told me about its strange form. He showed me some pixel art of it, where the sword is basically a tree-shaped fractal with a handle. That was completely impractical. I didn't know how I'd wield, much less sheath something like that.

We have the freedom to choose the appearances of our weapons (because we often don't have access to the "real" appearances anyway). However, Nighthand remarked that I should accept the weapon as it was since I had been shown its real appearance and not every weapon could be some beautiful sleek blade. I ended up with a compromise: I described the Demonic Sword as a standard katana, but with the added difference that it could branch out suddenly into its awkward shape. I also figured this could be possible because its a rare weapon. Could this be a problem in the tournament?

People can generally choose the shape of their weapons to an extent, yes. However, what you're proposing shouldn't be possible in the first place. You have to stick with a shape, one or the other. Otherwise it'd serve as a potential tactical advantage. It's good you asked.

I've avoided using it in the first place because of that problem. >_< Okay, I'll figure it out...
