Title: Healing Potion

lugiablaster - January 26, 2008 06:27 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I finally decided to read the descriptions in the Magickery or however you spell it and I noticed that a Healing Potion restores your health to max. But according to the NISDIP (and original games) a Healing Potion only restores 400 HP.

Contradiction!

Arinyes - January 26, 2008 06:38 PM (GMT)
Technically, yeah... but how many folks around here got a 400+ health?

lugiablaster - January 26, 2008 06:39 PM (GMT)
Actually, you'd be surprised. Due to the amount of players leveling up past 20 (which isn't a lot, mind, you, but there are) there are quite a few.

Your Hp should be 490 Slicer, unless you have a Grunty item I'm unaware of.
But ya, all of us Heavyblades, Blademasters, Heavyaxes, and Longarms have way over 400Hp after like level 15.

Heavy Blade, Blademaster, Long Arm: 50+(level *20)

50 + (21*20) +Grunty (30)

= 50 + 420 + 30

= 500

Ko_Inuyasha - January 26, 2008 07:39 PM (GMT)
It's 70 + (Level x 20) now.
That was announcded back in the "Whole String of Announcements" ya?
And like I said, "unless you have a Grunty item I'm unawar of." Which I now clearly see in your signature :P

Lyra - January 26, 2008 09:23 PM (GMT)
So um, which is it then? @.@ Does anyone have the fourth game handy? I don't. Someone check to see which is which so I can fix this, please.

Zan - January 26, 2008 11:41 PM (GMT)
It is 400 HP, as far as I'm aware. The Health Elixir is the full HP one. I'll fix it.

Actually, the Golden Grunty gives 30HP

70 + (20 x 20) + 30

= 70 + 400 + 30

=500

If you take away the Grunty, you'd get 470, not 490 o.O;;

Anyway, math aside, can I request that the HP formula be put in along with the SP formula in the Ultimate Divvy FAQ? It'd make it a bit easier to find...

And change the HP formula in the Dueling Guide or something >.<

Thankers!

That's a good idea. Thanks Slicer.

[EDIT] Added it to the FAQ. Since HP doesn't necessary matter for Duels (outside of reference), I'm going to hold back on putting them up there. Still, thanks for the suggestion.

*jumps in*

Actually, y'all are wrong about the HP formula. It's

50 + (level * 20)

In Rayo's announcement thread, he announced as

70 + (level gained * 20)

After numerous conversations with both him and Lyra to confirm, Rayo's formula should not include level 1 in the calculations. It only takes into account the levels gained since level 1. In order for it to be accurate, you'd have to realize that level gained is the same thing as (level - 1). This turns the equation into

70 + [(level - 1) * 20]

In the Ultimate FAQ and in the dueling rules, I did the algebra to make it as simple as possible (the first formula above). I think a lot of people are mistaken in what they list their HP as, because of the confusion in his initial announcement. My algebra is as follows:

70 + (level gained * 20)
70 + [(level - 1) * 20]
70 + [(level * 20) - (1 * 20)]
70 + (level * 20) - 20
70 - 20 + (level * 20)
50 + (level * 20)

*goes back to lurking*

Zan - January 29, 2008 06:54 AM (GMT)
I did that for the HP already, Dien. I'll double check for the SP.

[EDIT] Yeah, the Ultimate FAQ already reflects both of those properly. *Ruler smack.* Bad Dien. Do your homework next time. Dx
