Title: Phoenix Ravens
Description: Heeere birdy birdy birdy...

Sekai - January 9, 2008 01:40 AM (GMT)
This is the meeting/briefing area for the Phoenix Ravens. Do your worst guys!

Sasuke - January 9, 2008 02:22 AM (GMT)
Ravens,

Welcome to the squad! I'm your host, as usual, your commander Lieutenant Colonel Sasuke. My alpha (lieutenant commander) is Captain-select First Lieutenant Ko_Inuyasha, who shall be your leader as my IRL job takes its effects over the next few months.

The Ravens were named after a real group also named the Phoenix Ravens. The description of this squad reminds me almost perfectly of the real Phoenix Ravens, an elite squad who basically provide the initial roles of security, but have also been trained as Army Rangers and can provide immediate armed response to situations that, frankly, a lot of people cannot fathom. In regards, our Ravens shall do basically the same thing.

That's right everyone, that means training! The one thing that I thought was somewhat cool about the Ravens is that they had a ridiculous amount of training that made them the elitist group that they are, and upon finalizing their training they are given their very own Raven number. It means a lot to those who have passed the training IRL, so as with the IRL counterparts I hope that you will all take it just as seriously. We shall all have the opportunity to pass any of the training set forth, though most IRL trainees aren't so lucky, and when we finally finish it all then we can consider ourselves the 'Elites' of the Army of Darkness. Not that we aren't, but this will surely prove that we can do and we can be the best around THE WORLD.

Moving on to other things, I wanted to take this time to recognize our members a little bit more. You should all know me already, so I shall not continue about myself. How about I start with my Alpha, your lieutenant commander; Captain-select First Lieutenant Ko_Inuyasha. Since his induction to the AOD Ko has done nothing BUT outstanding work. Allow me to explain the whole 'Captain-select', you see, Ko has done such an outstanding job that I have recognized him as competent of the rank of Captain/O-3. He'll be promoted soon, but not without taking command of this squad first. As my IRL job brings me to certain places that I wish none of you shall ever see, Ko_Inuyasha shall be taking over in lead and with this he'll also take a long-due promotion to the rank of Captain. There's another individual who was also assigned to the Ravens before anyone could choose, his name is Sergeant Takua; one who has built his way from the bottom and worked his way to the NCO ranks. Like Ko, Takua has also done just as well and performs probably performs better than I do on the field, but that's because he's a Wavemaster- we've got different jobs. You see, Takua has worked himself so hard that he'll soon be promoted as well, but it may take a little bit longer to do so. His job in the Ravens is to basically be the experienced veteran on the field, he's the enlisted liason who will also be a part of the decision making process, his job is also to make sure that the health, welfare, morale and war-fighting ability of the troops is kept to the utmost ability of each individual soldier. His job is paramount and I expect all of you to give him the respect that you give to myself and the other officer of the AOD.

With the two under myself named and explained, this leaves me to announce the others who have been assigned to the Ravens. Corporal Bane, a face I've seen a couple times throughout the years and I've personally served with on the fields of THE WORLD. Next we have Specialist Talal, a newcomer who I've yet to meet on the field and I know very little about, hopefully we'll all grow closer together and learn who each other are after a while. Finally, Private Satoshi, one who has been assigned to the AOD but still has yet to gain a level; good troop, just needs a little pushing.

There we have it, and the AOD: Raven Squad is all in order thus far. New faces are sure to come with the next recruitment, please be sure to welcome each other as well as any new faces that come in while I am out. As for now I am still the squad leader, but soon I'll make sure to turn the reins over to Ko_Inuyasha and the Ravens shall continue in their glory.

Sincerely,

LTC Sasuke
Commander, Army of Darkness
Commander, Phoenix Raven Squad

Ko_Inuyasha - January 9, 2008 04:30 AM (GMT)
Thank you very much Commander, I'll try to contain my glee.

Thanks to previous work done by both NCO while under orders for a recruitment, we already have our own Squad quest planned out. The problem with this is simply that, and I mean no offence, our three troops are pretty low on the level side and wouldn't be able to handle the boss or most of the enemies. Because of this we'll be giving you plenty of time to clean up what ever quests you're in and maybe even squeeze out another if you're quick enough.

If you guys wouldn't mind, I'd like it if you posted up here your current quest status along with your immediate future quests plans. I realize that Satoshi is working on a solo and afterwards wants a recruitment quest and Takua is of course busy with the EC as well as what ever I have him doing XP. If you are willing to do this without a reward please post that as well but this most likely be just a bit shorter than if not as long as a normal clan quest.

Takua - January 9, 2008 04:41 AM (GMT)
I'll, obviously, do this without a reward.

Preferably, everyone would be of a higher level than they are right now. Guaranteed that this is going to be hard, and fun, and interesting. To put this in perspective, I'm hoping that I'll be level 26+ for the squad quest. Granted, that's the harder of the monsters that we're facing, but it'll be a very good thing if everyone is above level...5 at the least, preferably 8/10. Granted, I realize that for Satoshi it might be impossible to reach 10 before it starts, so we'll work things out, but that just means that it's going to be nice and tough for you.

*ends opening speech*

Talal - January 9, 2008 04:48 AM (GMT)
With what I have currently in motion, I am hoping to be at level 12 - 14 for the squad quest.

I will also most likely be doing it for no rewards.

Satoshi - January 9, 2008 08:03 AM (GMT)
Well, I plan on getting my solo finished by the end of February. I could possibly get it done sooner, possibly a little later. It all depends on how IRL matters play out. So let's just say best case scenario is Beginning-Mid February.

That should net me 5 levels if I play my cards right. Then, with that renewed burst of inspiration gained from attaining the level cap in my first quest, I would think me and Ko could go through a recruitment quest rather quickly.

I'd really rather not do the squad quest without rewards just for the reason that I need to catch up to you guys, but if I truly need to, I will.

As long as you guys can understand that the baby is really screwing with my sleeping schedule, and thus screwing with everything in my life, I'm sure we can work it out somehow.

Ko, if Beginning-Mid Feb is going to be too far gone for us to squeeze a recruitment in there, I could combine our recruitment with my solo. Obviously that would make it so I would just be that much lower of a level for our squad quest, but at least it wouldn't be like, "Squee! I'm in a clan AND squad on me second day playing the game. WOOT!"

Obviously everything is really pending, but we'll have to see where things go.

Ko, did you guys have a set date when you'd like to start this quest, or at least a timeframe? It might help me push myself if I can get it in my head that I have to finish my solo before said date.

Bane - January 9, 2008 08:54 AM (GMT)
Currently level 11, but hoping to net 1-3 levels from the Theta Quest once that is finished. If all goes well with timing and school and nice...ness...I can pull out another 2-3 levels from my solo bringing me up to roughly the 15ish mark.

Alas, if this cannot be done, I will take part in the Squad Quest without reward and then resume training for levels and whatnot prior to whatever AoD mission comes up.

Ko_Inuyasha - January 9, 2008 09:17 AM (GMT)
I want to maximize the amount of members getting rewards for this quest so I'm very limber as to when to start it. I had planned, for you Satoshi, to have you recruitment included in a nice dungeon run where you get to meet all the higher ups of the clan and my very own enemies all at the same time. It would have been very sweet. But, because of the time frames it's looking like that quest wont be done until after this one. It might come down to it that we'll have to make this your recruitment by possibly having you in the field before us or making your solo as your recruitment however you wanted to do that.

Thank you all for your information. Takua and I will gauge the events carefully and continue to update more specific dates as the dates get closer.

New orders of business:
Sasuke, though never announcing it to the AoD, entered into talks with the unofficial clan Advent Dynasty about our clans joining and alliance. All this really means is that we're gonna try to quest together and help everyone be more active. Even though it's not officially spoke by Sasuke yet, I have sent a pm to Uruvei asking if she would like us to enter into some duels with them. It's been a common practice in the AoD to use duels against each other to sharpen our skill. I for one proudly defeated Sasuke ^^ (stops showing off)
If Uruvei accepts I'd like you three to take one of their challengers and battle. Satoshi will be perfect because like most of their members he's level 1. Bane and Talal might have a problem because their strongest member is Uruvei and she's only level 8. I think they have a level 6 member so we'll see how this turns out.
If you guys can\have the time in the future please try to pick up one of their members if they're free and take them on a dungeon run or something. You might even find it relaxing to do some posts when it doens't really matter how much you write or how much plot it has. I've done it twice with new people and found it revitalizing each time.

I guess we'll talk when I start getting my solo done. If things move along really fast we could squeeze in our recruitment depending on how fast you can post. All depends though...

*kicks self* Need to post though. >_<

Ko_Inuyasha - January 26, 2008 07:58 AM (GMT)
Because so many of our members are either in or involved with the EC we work close to their schedule and if you saw in the Main Thread, Zan announced that their time table is moving up. That means ours is moving up as well and the recruitment is looking to be a bigger deal that expected.

We have Satoshi, Sage, and Ruikage heading into a dungeon for some investigation. Since I'm really just waiting on you Satoshi I need to know when you're ready and if it's too long from now I'll have to ask that you play your character as if your solo has already happened. Naturally, I'll be sacrificing my own reward to make sure this gets done on time. Expect up to, but not limited to, five posts each to cover this quest; the faster everyone posts the faster we can get through it.

As soon as this recruitment is over we'll be diving into our Squad quest as the two quests are linked.

Satoshi - January 26, 2008 08:03 AM (GMT)
5 posts eh? Ok then that's not sacrificing TOO much rewards. >_<

But yeah go ahead and start it I guess. Hopefully questing with other people will help me get active. :\

Ko_Inuyasha - January 26, 2008 08:18 AM (GMT)
Says you. Thanks to Tak and Sekai and all the other hard workers I quest with I feel that if I'm not posting 7 pages per post it's not worth posting *crying in the corner*

Recruitment will be up between Sunday night and Tuesday afternoon.

Takua - January 26, 2008 08:23 AM (GMT)
>D

That's just what you get.

Ruikage is ready whenever, I'll talk to Sage on Monday. Or tomorrow. It depends. Whenever it happens though, I'll let him know that it's happening.

Satoshi - January 27, 2008 04:06 AM (GMT)
Everybody needs to RP just for the hell of it once in a while, ya know? :)

I think the biggest problem for me is going to be having it happen after my solo without spoiling anything for my adoring fans. (XD)

I can handle it though. o.o 7x5 is still not that bad considering how much work it does to even get a level on this site. So... yeah, no problems here.

Ko_Inuyasha - February 11, 2008 08:52 AM (GMT)
*two weeks later*

What's up Satoshi? I understand between your brother, school, and hospital crap that you're slowed down but I need a sign of life from you that you're working on your Divergence stuff as well.
If you can't mange this (and I'd completely understand if you couldn't) just say the word and I can move on to my contingency.

Satoshi - February 22, 2008 01:57 AM (GMT)
I posted. I'll try to be faster now that I'm getting better. :-D

Ko_Inuyasha - February 24, 2008 07:09 AM (GMT)
You've given me the hardest post of my life. I don't even see WHY Satoshi in this clan thanks to that post let alone how you're ever going to manage to keep Ko from shanking his ass everytime he sees him.

:-P I rock like that.

It's occured to me that a lot of people don't like posting with me specifically because I make all my characters complete assfaces.

But, sir, you've just given me a reason to BE in this clan. That reason would be to spite the hell out of your character.

;)

Satoshi - February 27, 2008 12:38 PM (GMT)
Posted.

I apologize for the shorter posts, Ko's posts have been short too and I can only stretch things out so far. That and it's 4:30 AM. I had fun writing that one though. xD

Whee for constant hits at your characters' intelligence and childish antics. Whee I say. Whee~

Also, it's really hard to not spoil anything that happened in my solo, which is partly the reason that he's being this way. At any other time he would've just been, "Fuck it." and wouldn't have cared that he got the flashmail.

EDIT: Also, can you hear the whininess in Satoshi's voice as he 'begs' to be let into the quest? I was going for that. Let me know if it worked. Please. >D

Hardishane - March 9, 2008 01:29 AM (GMT)
you people are all insane. I feel good if I post 2 pages per post. I am just not a quality volume writer. I just try and say what needs to be said, and very little else. This doesn't mean my posts are bad, just shorter occasionally. Also, I try and make them longer, but that is hard to do because it means trying to bring in more stuff, and sometimes I don't get stuff up in time, and have to modify to react to other players.

Maybe I should try doing rapid-response. Analyzing the situation, deciding how my character would react based on the situation, step-by-step. I might be able to do damn good if I write short pieces to go along with each person in a turn and post them all as my post. Battle from my perspective maybe?

And it is pretty sweet to be in the squad. Looking forward to the rapid-response bit.

Ko_Inuyasha - March 9, 2008 07:43 AM (GMT)
So you're a fan that feeds fire? I like that. ^^

Two pages are nice. I try to give myself a two page minimum in dueling because it's just long enough to describe two actions clearly. When possible, I like to do more so that I don't limit my character's "humanity."

Hardishane - March 10, 2008 10:15 PM (GMT)
Eh. Actually, I think I manage to convey quite a bit of personality in my posts. Of course, that's just my opinion. Also, On a solo, since I don't use NPCs normally, I find it difficult to make incredibly long posts since the only thing I am able to describe is my character's actions. Occasionally I'll add in some conversation, but no NPCs equals interior dialog. And I don't want to get bogged down in too much of that. My character isn't really that messed up.

At least, not yet. :ph43r:

Ko_Inuyasha - March 23, 2008 08:34 AM (GMT)
I'm opening up a quick chat specifically for our squad to have incharacter development and what not. I personaly want to see combat training out of you guys since we ARE suppose to be the AoD's enforcers.

Any ideas or comments can be fed to me or Tak in anyway you see fit.

Talal - March 23, 2008 10:50 PM (GMT)
I think a quick chat for the squad is an excellent idea considering IC, Talal has only met Tak.

Also, I think it will give the squad itself a little unity? perhaps.

Hardishane - March 27, 2008 12:34 PM (GMT)
Hmmm... I'm gonna have to agree with Talal on this one. Need to meet everybody IC so that I can get to know them. That way, I won't have to use all the tricks I had to during the second AOD quest. (Description of characters from an IRL friend, Research into AOD's holographic records room, the lot) Although that was fun. I'm working on leveling with my solo. I'm making it serious, but technically I'm really only gonna put in two-three fights. They're going to be intense, mano-a-mano duels though, each taking a good 8 pages or so. At least. Should be good, and if the rule that so long as you actually have a fight, reward is based off post quality, is still rigidly observed, I hope to get several levels from it. Don't know.

~Treth

 Dead time around here is apparently 8:00 AM Eastern Standard. I'm the only one on at the moment...Cool! No restrictions, nobody to judge me... PARTAAAYYYYY!

If you didn't notice, Black birds, Red flames is our quick chat. Fight monsters, carry on conversations, get to know one and other. Everyone but Satoshi pretty much has permission to do as they please.

Have at it.

Talal - April 4, 2008 03:13 PM (GMT)
Talal will be popping into the QC soon. I'm all of a sudden behind in my posting.

*gets to work* XD

Ko_Inuyasha - April 4, 2008 04:27 PM (GMT)
Roll Call Everyone!

Next week I'm starting the Squad Quest, who's in and who's out?

Sasuke - April 4, 2008 05:15 PM (GMT)
Good initiative Ko!

Sadly, in about a week and a half I'll be relieved of duty (IRL) so I will be getting ready to go to Iraq for a second time. I may be able to pop in briefly but I can't be counted on for the rest of the quest.

As an update about my status, I'll be leaving for Iraq at the very end of this month... kinda sucks, so I have little time with friends and family and as I say... Real world stuff takes precedence, though I'm still working on my AODC solo amidst all this fun IRL BS....

-Sasuke of the Blue Sky-

Takua - April 4, 2008 08:43 PM (GMT)
I'm, obviously, around.

Satoshi - April 4, 2008 09:07 PM (GMT)
I'm prolly gonna have to sit this one out.

A. My heart's not in it.

B. Got more important stuff to handle IRL.

C. I'll just remain in ghost form around here.

But, if I get a sudden burst of inspiration and am able to finish my solo before then (not likely) then I'll hop in.

Sorry guys.

Takua - April 4, 2008 09:10 PM (GMT)
Alright. That leaves, hopefully, Talal, Ko, Dien, Hardishane, Bane and myself.

Also, take off enough time as you need bud.

Talal - April 5, 2008 03:23 AM (GMT)
Am I in? Of course I'm in! :D

Sasuke: Take care of yourself over there.

Satoshi: Take care of yourself too! Get your RL stuff under control and join us when you're ready.

Bane - April 5, 2008 04:05 AM (GMT)
I'm in naturally. I've been bugging you consistently on when it was going to start. Let's get this on the road!~

Good luck in Iraq Sasuke!

Ko_Inuyasha - April 5, 2008 08:17 AM (GMT)
Worship you're level 30 Captain!!

But seriously, if you want brownie points you'll call me Captain from now on. ^^
Not as a stroke to my ego but because I like the ship reference. ^^' (and yet I hate the ocean)

Talal - April 5, 2008 02:35 PM (GMT)
Congratulations Captain Ko!

And...it doesn't have to be an ocean vessel that you are the Captain of, it could be a space vessel?

Ko_Inuyasha - April 5, 2008 05:51 PM (GMT)
Indeed it could Tala and it just so happens I have a space vessle that I never use. ^^

Hardishane - April 6, 2008 02:54 PM (GMT)
I don't know if I'll be able to do it. I have to finish my solo, which is going to be difficult, as schoolwork has driven my muse away. I may be able to join late though. I'll try.

*Runs off to try and write something*

Sasuke - April 6, 2008 04:45 PM (GMT)
Just some jee-whiz knowledge....

A ship Captain of some sort of naval vessel is actually a rank HIGHER than what I am. A Captain in the Navy is a Colonel in the Army... so as an equivalent to the naval rank structure, Ko, you are actually a Lieutenant and I would be a Commander. Funny how the Navy does their ranks...
