Have you founD the strength we desire? Seek you the bAstion beyond the blue orb. No monster makes tHis place its home, and siLence marks the sanctity of the realm. It is here that your destiny lies in wAit. |
Any areas like this that people know of? I've only been playing for a few weeks, so I haven't been to enough places to know. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hm. Intriguing riddle. Well, based on the information given, it has to be a field with special requirements, since there aren't any monsters. As for the term "bastion," I'd have to assume a larger building of sorts. Coupled with the phrase "beyond the blue orb," I'd have to assume there'd be a Platform nearby for you to get out of the area with. Only one place I know matches that description, though I'm not sure it is the correct one- the cathedral at Delta: Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground. Again, I'm not sure it's the right place, but it doesn't hurt to look, right?

There's really an area with no monsters? What's the point? It sounds like the right place, but is there anything significant I need to know before I go? It seems like an area like that would have some sort of special requirements to enter.
Thanks a lot!

No problem. It doesn't have any special requirements, and you can go straight there. You'll arrive right outside of the Cathedral, near a Platform you'll use to get back. There aren't any monsters, so you're safe to explore to your heart's content.

Yep, I agree with Locke. The only area I could think of that sounds like the one in the riddle is the Hulle Granz Cathedral - though I didn't know many people knew if its existance.
Oh, one interesting thing I've heard about it: when you're inside the church, you can't equip any weapons. They automatically un-equip. I'm not sure if this is true, since I haven't actually been there myself yet. The area outside the church is probably a PKer free-for-all, though. Then again, maybe not? I'll have to stop by and check the place out some time. :3

You're right- a lot of people haven't heard of the Hulle Granz Cathedral. I'm a bit of a rumor-chaser, looking for treasure in any rare areas. That's the only reason I've heard of it. ^_^
Unfortunately, there wasn't anything there. There was a pedestal in the front of the cathedral, but it was completely empty. Anyone know what was there?
Oh, and it's actually not a PK-zone. There seems to be a cease-fire of sorts all around the area. You're unable to draw your weapons there. It's kinda like a Root Town.

Is that the only other place with its own chaos gate? Why would it need that? I wonder if there's a way to access other areas through that gate...
Are there other places like this in the world? It seems like that would be a perfect clan headquarters or something like that. Have you guys ever seen anything important happen there?
Locke - August 24, 2007 03:42 AM (GMT)
Hm. I'll consider that. You're going to be a great Treasure Seeker after all. ^_^
As for other areas like that... I don't know what they're called. I haven't encountered any others, though I've heard rumors. Unfortunately, these special areas seem to appear in and out throughout time, so you can never really find them.

Thanks for all your help, and your support. I'm pretty sure that must be where I'm supposed to go.
Something else bothers me though. What's the significance of the Violet Thunder? Have you heard of it?
Locke - August 24, 2007 03:51 AM (GMT)
I haven't. If you'd care to bring me along, though, then I'm game. I'd like to investigate this further- I'm intrigued now.

(OOC: I have to cut in here, 'cause this is something that needs correction before it goes further. The area word Delta: Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground does not have a name. In fact, none of the Lost Grounds really exist with names in The World R:1. They are there, it's just that I don't think the names come around until R:2)
Interesting. Have you noticed the random capital letters in the flashmail at all? D-A-H-L-A. Wonder what it could mean...
I'd join you too, but I've got a shop to run. ^_^
Alverita - August 24, 2007 07:30 AM (GMT)
Well, I know a Wavemistress named Dahlia, it may have been some sort of a typo... I'll think on it.
Uruvei - August 24, 2007 04:46 PM (GMT)
(There's no indication of when Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground got it's name. It's been around a long time, so 'Hulle Granz Cathedral' could have been named sometime during the Golden Age, in which Divvy is set. I'm not so sure that the Aura statue would be missing at this point, though. Wasn't it's lack an indication that Aura had left The World? Which won't happen IC for another year or so.)
Hey, if something interesting does happen let me know. :3 I'd come along too, but I'm kinda busy as of late. >_< I'm still going to go check out the Cathedral later when I have time.
As for the Violet Thunder, I have no idea. It kinda sounds like the nicknames players give themselves. (Mine's The Purple Rose, but it hasn't caught on yet... :\) What about the "Endsbane Sister" bit? It sounds like a last name to me. You know anyone named Endsbane?
Alverita - August 24, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
No I don't know of anyone named Endsbane, but Dahlia put her name in the note. Perhaps it's her last name. I'll send you a message if any developments take place.
