“Another day down…”
“I wish I had more time for this. Managing the AOD, working a more than full-time job, and having to baby-sit is more than enough to occupy my time, but keeping my levels high enough and to make progression in THE WORLD is just adding to the sickness.”
It wasn’t exactly a ‘bad day’ Jonas had just finished running a few errands before he came home to go to sleep. His work schedule was an odd one; 2 days working, followed by 2 days off, then 3 days working, and another 2 days off, and repeated in the opposite order. Not to mention that it was a 14 hour shift, and sometimes, depending on the day and his boss’ mood, a possible 15 hour shift. The majority of Jonas’ day was spent in the line of duty, as he was called to arms in the past few years and is now working his way up the rank ladder. With rank also comes responsibility, though, and it’s not just the rank he has in the military, but it’s also the rank that he holds within the Army of Darkness.
As a Lieutenant Colonel, the only one in the clan, as well as being the Commander of the AOD, Sasuke held himself to a higher standard. The fact that his subordinates would joke around all the time, continuing in random jargon for days or possibly weeks, and he would hardly participate was also a matter of his priorities. Jonas being the player behind the mask of Sasuke, he needed to re-evaluate himself before continuing his leadership. Though he felt rather apt to lead, and thought he could handle the situations that may occur in the future of his Command responsibility, Jonas also saw that he needed to be beyond that of his own troops. His subordinates were catching up to him and quick! In a moments notice, he could be second in line of level and possibly have a little respect lost from his subordinates whom now are above his level. Jonas did NOT see this as a fit situation for a Commander to be in, and as with such, it was time to go on what they call a “level-jumping” spree.
But before then, it was time to sleep, and a good nights’ rest would he need, for as soon as Jonas woke in the morning, he would start his everlasting quest for greatness and soon grow higher in levels than that of even his leaders passed. It was nice already, so all he needed to do was take off his clothing and go to bed. His eyes shuttered like a camera’s lens, they itched and burned, so he rubbed them a little. As soon as the lights in his room did turn off Jonas fell straight into sleep. He would dream about nothing, and it was better to dream of nothing rather than dreaming about working his post, or dreaming of a video game. Of course, this is no ordinary video game, it was THE WORLD. If Jonas were to dream of his place of work, if he were to ever share with friends that he dreamed about working then they would brand him a “loser” and shun him for the rest of his time, which was not so long as it is. Only 180 more days until Jonas would leave his current base and relocate to his second base. Unknowing what that base was, or where it happened to be located, Jonas had felt it best to play his games as much as possible. He may not have that chance at his next base.
But as with such, Jonas had slept his night away, a deep and endless sleep is what he wished it would be, but no such luck would come his way on this night. It was on that morning, though, that he had awoken fully recovered from the past 3 days of 14 hour shifts. And with that, it was time for some breakfast, and then to start out in his adventuring for major levels!
“Where did I put my spoon…. AH! There it is!” he said while scanning his room for the common kitchen utensil. Jonas sat in front of his computer with his eyes glued to the screen, and ate his cereal before it became too soggy. Eating soggy cereal was nasty, anyway, so he made quick work with that. Ungluing his eyes, Jonas picked up the neuro- goggles and placed them atop his head, the virtual gloves were in position on his hands, and he positioned the mouse on the icon titled ‘THE WORLD’. As it activated, a loading process popped up on his screen, he put his goggles down over his eyes and the screen could now be seen up close and personal. A prompter came up on his screen, a log-in.

“Welcome to Dun Loireag,” the monotone female voice spoke. It was the same greeting that everyone gets when they log into THE WORLD.
Data rings formed from the ground up, three of them, and out from the center of the rings formed the avatar of a player known as Sasuke. As usual, he formed up in the general standing position that all players begin at. As soon as that third ring had disappeared, however, his avatar took to motion. His cape lifted up in the air and waved around, instead of standing still he swayed and rocked a little bit until movement took place, in which case, when he started to head off to his first destination he could be seen walking tall and rather prideful.
Everything was normal it was a regular day in THE WORLD and with that, a normal field to go to. But first, Sasuke needed to gear up! Although his weapons and armor were in good condition and he was content with his set up, Sasuke needed some extra scrolls and other such related items.
Sasuke moved down through the plank trails of Dun Loireag and passed by other players whom stared at the player while he rushed past them in order to make haste with this field he was about to start out with. He needed to get to the Pawn Shop, a shop that had nearly everything and if they didn’t have it then you could place a special order to receive it in about a weeks’ time. He reached the platform that the Pawn shop was on and moving through a crowd of players whom happened to be looking at a bulletin board that Sasuke paid no mind to. Sasuke walked inside, grabbed a basket and quickly gathered almost every scroll and healing item that he could possibly think of buying. He was loaded with GP as it were so it would be no problem paying for said items.
“That will be all!” Sasuke said with a smile underneath his mask after having placed 33 separate items on the counter top next to the cash register. He had a little more than enough items, needless to say. The NPC who controlled the Pawn Shop stepped out and rung Sasuke’s items up and asked for the GP that Sasuke would need to pay. It wasn’t too much for the somewhat rich ninja; so he placed it all down on the counter, stuffed his items into his satchel, which apparently was a never ending void of space that he could store his items in, and headed out of the door.
“Look, that’s him isn’t it?”
“I dunno… looks like the description….”
“Shh! Let’s follow him…”
People whispered when Sasuke passed by the hoard of players standing by the bulletin board outside of the Pawn Shop. He still paid no mind to the board, he just continued his path and walked along to the Chaos Gate now since he was finished shopping around. He still had all of his other gear in his bag, so he could readily equip the armor or weapons at his own will.
He retraced his steps back to the Chaos Gate where he had logged in at and stood in front of the mighty vortex. As the ring swept around, spinning from the center axis, Sasuke called out the keywords of the field he decided on going to.
“Theta: Soft- Momentary- New Truth!” Sasuke chanted to the large, spinning portal. Instantly his avatar faded away when three golden data rings ran down his body and made him disappear as he would be traveling through a rather large data stream.
The feeling of travel through data stream was rather boring for the at-home player. It was basically a loading process; the screen turns black and the word ‘loading’ pops up in the middle of it. When the screen finally opens and shows what the in-game player can see, the at-home player has his or her eyes fully adjusted to the darkened screen. So with that being stated, as soon as Sasuke made it to the field he just stood there for a moment and soaked it all in…
Literally, he soaked it all in due to the fact that this particular field was a rather plain but rainy field. Lightning struck, the sound of thunder roared, rain poured onto the field and drenched Sasuke while standing and waiting for his eyes to adjust. When they finally did he could see a slightly hilly area, the field seemed to be made of these hills, there was not any form of cover so that kind of threw out the whole idea of getting out of the rain, and it seemed to be a non-elemental field. The only reason why Sasuke could tell that this was a non-elemental field was because as he stood around ‘soaking’ in the view he came into battle mode with a pair of monsters happening to be on the opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to elements.
A Grand Mage and a Dark Rider moved towards Sasuke’s location somewhere to the north western side of the map for this particular field. One monster was of the Darkness nature, and the other of Fire nature. They each formed up a magical attack to perform on Sasuke; this would definitely prove to be a tough field, maybe that was Sasuke’s mistake when he logged on today.
Of course, the monsters don’t speak, as that would take way too much engineering on the game-makers part, they just cast spells while holding still for a moment until the spell is completed. The first attack came from the Grand Mage, the fire user. He cast Vak Don upon Sasuke, the red glyph formed above his head and the fire attack formed into two water melon-sized balls of fire and they both dropped down onto the avatar of Sasuke. The next attack, BiAni Don from the Dark Rider, came to Sasuke as soon as the glyph faded from the Vak Don attack that had just been dealt. A purple glyph, it looked just as intricate as the red glyph for the fire technique, had formed over Sasuke’s head now. He had no time to move as he was trapped by the magic attacks being thrown at him like such, he couldn’t even start casting his own technique because it would be interrupted by the BiAni Don that was about to hit him. Just like the Vak Don, two particles of was appeared to be a dark matter had formed in the air, then another two which surrounded him completely formed, they all dropped down on him like bullets from a machine gun.
The damage was crucial, he still survived though, just barely. He had started to run off, he was still a little on the slow side because he wasn’t able to toss on his favored speed charm item to help him out. Just as he turned to start running, when he lifted his next foot to make the second step off the Grand Mage moved around to the front side of Sasuke and cast another Vak Don. The Mage stopped and watched as Sasuke’s movements slowed almost completely to a halt and the same red glyph was about to form over his head but then…
“Double Sweep!!”
“Triple Doom!”
And again, another two called out…
“Double Sweep!”
“Triple Doom!”
Four techniques, all Longarm-type, sounded the alarm for the monsters, but it was far too late for them. The monsters were no match for skilled players like the ones whom struck them down. Had Sasuke been ready for the field that he had entered he would not have needed help either, his level was well enough for the field he was currently on. He was just unlucky because the couple of roaming monsters happened to be exactly where he had warped in to.
Lucky for Sasuke, the first Double Sweep technique given by one of those mysterious players happened to interrupt the Grand Mage’s Vak Don and he was saved…. For the moment.
“Sasuke of the Blue Sky?” one player asked, the four of them seemed to wear the same kind of armor, having the same exact character base as each other. The only difference between the players must only lie with who was behind the avatar..
“That is I, thank you very much,” He said, thanking his saviors. He saw that the avatars were very ‘knightly’, with matching armor, smooth and very conservative, their helmets even matched to the point that there was a blue tint to where their eyes should be. Sasuke stuck his hand in his satchel and pulled out two Health Drinks and downed them in only a few seconds.
“By the name of the Knights of War, you are being placed under arrest for…”
“Say what?!” Sasuke shouted, he backed away from the players, whom now could be identified as soldiers of the Knights of War. The Knights of War are what was formerly known as the Cobalt Knights, they are the policing unit of THE WORLD whom work for the administration and delete Vagrant AI’s and ‘cheaters’. But why on earth would they be after a normal player like Sasuke? Had he done something that he should not have done?
Sasuke stepped back, splashing in a puddle of rain water that lay still on the field, the main Knight reached his arm out and held his spear, sharp end toward the ground, behind himself and called out, “Halt! Do not move! Halt!!”
Instead, Sasuke reached into his satchel again, still open from snatching the Health Drinks, and pulled out his favorite item, Speed Charm. The effects came to him immediately and he took off like the wind. It was too bad for him that Longarms had the same type of agility as Twin blades, which were a lot faster than Blademasters.
“Go away!” Sasuke shouted, he dodged to the left as one of the Soldiers came falling out of the sky with his spear out stretched. It would have nailed him had he not dodged at the perfect time. Another flanked in from the left side of the running ninja, his arm stretched out as far as he could reach, Sasuke simply bounded over the weapon and continued running.
“I said Halt! Stop where you are! Don’t go any further or we’ll be forced to delete you!”
“I don’t know what it is that I did, but I’m out of here!”
He continued running through the hilly and rainy field. As he came up a hill, one of the other Knights of War happened to be atop it and stood there staring at him with his spear held out to the right side of him. As Sasuke neared him he jutted his spear straight at the players face, but Sasuke blocked with his 7-Star Sword and knocked the weapon only slightly to his left side as to pass through it. The Soldier couldn’t block now, he was off balance since his weapon was pushed aside and Sasuke came and tackled the Soldier over.
The other three Knights of War surrounded the certain hill that they lay wrestling upon, they each had their spears ready at a high position so that they could bring it crashing down on Sasuke as soon as he was in sight.
Sasuke punched the Soldier’s face, he squirmed a little but took the shot and dealt his own and rolled Sasuke onto his back. Their weapons both lay on the ground and it came down to being a fist fight in the rain, too bad neither of them were the rare class ‘Fist Fighter’!
“Stop! In the name of the Knight of!!” said the wrestling Soldier, his sentence was cut abruptly short by Sasuke’s fist in his mouth. The Soldier leaned back and fell off of Sasuke while covering his injured face.
“Leave me alone! I didn’t do anything!” Sasuke panicked and yelled at the top of his lungs. His eyes opened wide and he reached down for his sword…
The other three Long Arm Knights of War neared the top of the hill, a crack of thunder struck and lighting flashed just beyond the hill. The rain continued pouring, as this field would never stop raining since that is its’ nature. And when they came to the top of the hill they saw a glimpse of Sasuke as he faded away from the transporting rings, gating out of the field, and on the ground laid the fourth Knight of War and his body was gray and his ghost stood had just formed standing over his body.
“We lost him, send a message to Headquarters.”
Darkness again, same as before when he moved through the data stream to the field that he desired to traverse. His eyes could not adjust and his heart was racing, anticipating a fight in the Root Town in the Theta Server. This could not be good, the Knights of War coming after Sasuke? Had he not interrupted the Soldier claiming the arrest he would have at least known why he was to be arrested. What crime had Sasuke of the Blue Sky committed? Jonas could only wonder. He didn’t remember doing anything wrong; he was a regular player who stumbled upon being the newest Commander of the Army of Darkness.
The light came back to the screen, Theta server root town again. “Welcome to Dun Loireag,” that female voice plainly stated once again. Sasuke had to make quick actions, or wait… no. He needed to keep calm, he needed to lay low, and he needed to get to the bottom of this whole thing.
“My arrest? Why are they after me?” Sasuke questioned himself, “And now I’ve Player Killed one of them, wonderful...”
Sasuke thought to himself how he would keep a low profile? So the cape had to go, his avatar has been equipped with a large flowing red cape since his first log-in over three years ago. What else could go? Nothing else really, as long as the cape was gone for the time being he could possibly keep himself out of the public eye. Now what to do? Sasuke walked the wooden planks from platform to platform. He came past the Grunty farm, watching as a Wavemaster ran into it in a rush and a Heavyblade followed shortly there after. Paying no more attention than that, Sasuke moved on. He needed to lay low, but where could he go? Should he go to the AOD mansion of the Theta server? No, that was going to be empty today. All the other members were playing off in a field somewhere out in THE WORLD, or else they had school or other such appointments in the real world. What to do? What to do!
A player turned and pointed at Sasuke as he passed him by, his friends seemed to look Sasuke’s way as well but then turned back around and minded their own business. Luckily, Sasuke had gotten away from those players this time. They could not recognize him without the overly large cape, but not every player is dumb like that.
“Why am I on the run? I should stay calm. I’m going to go check out the Pawn shop, maybe someone in that group of players that was outside the door earlier has sold them a few good items that I can pick up,” Sasuke stated to himself as he stood next to a rather large crate next to a tent-like shop on another platform.
He moved forward from there, the Pawn shop was in sight and not far away. He moved the same way that he had moved earlier in the day before he logged into the field and encountered the Knights of War. He didn’t recognize any of the players that passed him by while walking those same planks, but then he didn’t really stop to take a look at those players earlier in the day. He made it a few more steps closer to his destination and then someone stopped him…
“Hey!” the iron-clad Long Arm shouted at Sasuke.
“Oh shit…” Sasuke murmured, the Long Arm couldn’t hear it.
“Hey! Halt!” the man shouted at the ninja, he moved forward towards Sasuke and waved his hand in a manner as to signify stopping.
“Later!” Sasuke shouted, he normally didn’t speak like that in THE WORLD, but he flicked up his index and middle finger and split them to make a ‘V’, something called tossing the ‘deuce’. Sasuke started to take off in the opposite direction, making a full 180 degree turn and sprinting off.
“Wait! I just wanted to form a party man!!!” the knight-looking Long Arm stated, he was notably not a Knight of War as they all had the same exact armor and weapon equipped at all times, this player had a Glaive-like weapon instead of having an axe head sticking off the end of a six foot pole.
Sasuke skidded to a halt and turned around, he definitely drew a little attention to him now. He had heard a little of what that Long Arm said, something about ‘form a party’, that was all. He slowly re-approached the Long Arm player who spoke a little more when he came closer and closer.
“Well jeez man! So are you looking to join a party? I could use a Blademaster or a Heavy Blade. You seem to fit that description, so you wanna join?” The Long Arm asked.
Sasuke quickly retorted, “No, I’ve some pressing matters that have me tied up for a while. Maybe if you can find me later then I might be able to go to a dungeon with you. Sorry.” And with that Sasuke bolted off past the Long Arm without waiting for his reply to what Sasuke had just put out there.
Sasuke walked up to the Pawn Shop again now, unlike the last time he paid a visit, there were no players outside checking the bulletin board. Still, he paid no attention to it and walked straight into the building and started checking for more scrolls and pieces of armor and possible weapons that he could make use of. With the Knights of War coming after him he might need all the help he can get!
Unlucky for him, Sasuke was out of luck when it came down to any of those; new scrolls, new weapons, and new armor. There were none that had just come in, only those that sat in the building earlier in the day. It was hard to believe that there would not be any new items in the Pawn Shop within the half an hour that he was gone, there is over two million players in THE WORLD, so what are the chances that none of them go to the Pawn Shop for that complete half hour. It was now that Sasuke realized what it was that he needed to do.
“The bulletin board outside!” he said to himself, he was in awe of his prior stupidity. Everyone seemed to be looking at something on the board just outside of the Pawn Shop and then turning to see him walking straight by it in the morning.
Quickly the ninja left the pawn shop, the NPC controlling said shop did not even show his face to see if he had any customers. It was no wonder why there weren’t any customers, the customer service could use a little work… well, a LOT of work actually. This did not matter now, though. Sasuke came through the threshold and turned to his right and saw a rather large cork board with multiple- different shaped pieces of parchment pinned and posted on the board. Sasuke scanned through all of them.
“’Baby Grunty for sale’, no. ‘Looking for a Gakaku’, I have one but they can’t have it,” Sasuke said, he was reading off a few of the headlines, “’Party needed for a crazy field’, why is this person posting this here? ‘Searching for rares’, sucks to be that person. ‘Warrant!’”
Sasuke found the item that most everyone was looking at on the bulletin board. It was a warrant, and reading on Sasuke found that the warrant was out for his arrest for being a hacked player-killer.
“Hacked player-killer?! Who would post that!” he shouted, growling shortly after out of aggravation, “This cannot be happening. I’m the leader of the Army of Darkness, not a player-killer, and ESPECIALLY not hacked!”
“Have you seen a player that looks like….”
Sasuke heard someone in the distance, the person was far enough away from him that Sasuke could not be recognized. The thing is, the person that was doing the question asking could most definitely be recognized as a Knight of War. The spear and the signature armor was a dead giveaway, and not to mention that the person was describing Sasuke’s avatar perfectly. Who else would look for Sasuke at this time?
“You haven’t seen him? Oh, maybe you have? He looks like…”
The Knight of War turned away from the person that he was originally speaking with and turned to another Long Arm. They weren’t speaking loud enough for Sasuke to make out what they were talking about, but he did see that the second Long Arm player turned and pointed at the Pawn Shop.
“Shit! That’s the guy who wanted me to join him in his party!” Sasuke exclaimed, “I better get outa here.”
Sasuke was going to play it cool. His cape wasn’t out, so it didn’t much attract any unwanted attention to himself. What a coincident that the Knight of War showed up just as Sasuke was reading the Warrant for his arrest. Either way, it was about time for him to leave and go elsewhere as to hide some more and possibly get to the bottom of this whole situation.
He moved casually, crouching only slightly as he walked forward toward the Chaos gate. The idea was to get to it before the Soldier intercepted him, and seeing as the soldier and that long arm from before happen to be moving toward the Pawn Shop Sasuke would have a little bit of a problem. He made it over the first set of planks and onto the first platform between the Pawn Shop and the Chaos gate. The Soldier and Long Arm were walking across a set of wooden planks to make it to the platform that Sasuke was on currently, what to do!
“Play it cool, Sasuke, play it cool.”
You better run away, we’ll get caught!
“Play it cool! Sasuke! Play it cool!”
The Soldier and Long Arm neared him, closer and closer with every moment that went by. Sasuke stood without any action, he just watched the Soldier come closer and closer to him. Time for evasive actions, time to go tactical!
Sasuke turned to his left side, there happened to be a stack of crates near the edge of the platform. The idea here was that he would hustle towards them and hide behind them.
“Hey!! You there! Stop!”
“Shit…” Sasuke whispered to himself, “They got me…”
Behind him the Long Arm pointed and the Knight of War held his spear pointed at his head. Sasuke turned his head and saw the face of his enemy, his temporary enemy until this situation went away or fixed itself, he smirked underneath his mask.
“Negative!”
Sasuke turned around and grabbed the spear by its rather long handle, the staff part of it, and pulled it toward him. The Soldier fell of balance and plunged forward into the crates and the other Long Arm attempted to stop Sasuke with his own lance by swinging it in front of the Blademaster. A rather poor attempt to halt him in his tracks, Sasuke pushed straight through the lance and swung the Long Arm in a circle until Sasuke fully passed by him. He turned and looked back while he ran on the planks toward the Chaos gate, the two Long Arms had recovered from their mishaps and started dashing off toward the ninja-like player.
“Stop! I said Halt! That means stop!! Stop resisting!”
Sasuke paid absolutely no attention to what the Soldier was saying. It was very unlike him to run from the law, but he was at a lack of sense for the time being, something must have been wrong with him. Sasuke would never really run away from the law, being a cop in the real world Jonas hates when he has to chase the suspect, but this being a rather digital world the same laws that Jonas followed did not apply completely.
There were a few players in Sasuke’s way when making his way through to the Chaos Gate, note that the Pawn Shop is at the back end of the Root Town. He came across another platform and then to some more wooden planks, but a sudden whistle was heard after the shout from that same Soldier again.
“There he is!” a few more Knights of War shouted and pointed in Sasuke direction of travel.
Sasuke saw them, again paying no attention at all, he continued running at maximum speed for himself to the Chaos Gate. He was going to go to Mac Anu so to hide in the AOD mansion there, it was the only place Sasuke could think of that was safe to go into without fear of intruders. The Soldiers scattered about the platforms at this time though, some of them were not a part of the large group and were minding their own business, but when they saw the chase they had no choice but to assist. Sasuke now had to dodge seven other Knights of War who happened to be standing around in the Root town at this current point in time.
He came to another platform, only a few more to go, but there were two Soldiers on this platform. They each caught up with Sasuke; one hurled his lance at him, Sasuke simply edged over to his left and dodged the flying spear, the other was in front of Sasuke near the planks leading to the next platform so he stood on the base of the planks with his spear at a high-ready stance. When Sasuke made it to the planks the Soldier smashed his spear down at him like an axe, the spear had an axe-head on it anyway so the attack would be proper. He struck too soon and the blade became stuck within the earth-like ground that the platform was made of, Sasuke hopped slightly and landed on the staff part of the weapon and ran up it then jumped onto the Soldiers head with one foot and kicked off of his head with the other foot. The Soldier was hurled to the ground in front of himself and Sasuke got away from the scene with perfect completion to the moves he just pulled off.
The Chaos Gate was only two platforms away, he could see other players warping in and warping out and he watched it spin and rotate on its axis. Sasuke landed onto the planks and continued moving, the last three Soldiers would not be able to catch him, but there were four more to get past. Sasuke needed to make a detour due to the mass trafficking on the next platform, so he went left to another set of planks and made it to a side platform where only one other person stood unwavering. The last four Soldiers saw this action and hence moved to the place where Sasuke would have to cross in order to get to the last platform between himself and the Chaos Gate. They came in position and when Sasuke had made it to the planks to cross over they made their attack!
The lead Soldier took out reached his weapon and swung in a semi-circular motion from right to left, as Sasuke hiked up into the air the next Soldier dropped down with his motion. He dropped out of the sky, having jumped when he saw Sasuke do the same, and whirled his spear around so to smash it down on Sasuke like an axe as the last defeated Soldier tried. Sasuke could not dodge while in the air, he was hit at the right shoulder and hurled to the ground, which was not to far off from how high he had jumped. The third Knight of War continued to sweep through in a slashing motion, something that a Blademaster would normally do, and cut up Sasuke as he stood and recovered from the fall. Sasuke fell backwards onto the planks, he was pushed back, and the Knights of War obviously meant business! When he hit the planks he pounced back to his feet immediately as to hopefully counter-act his fourth attacker whom stuck his spear out at maximum reach and spun around doing about a 720 degree spin. Sasuke was no dumbass, so he was able to quickly counter the attack by simply sliding his body underneath the attack. The Soldier stopped amid his whirl and hunched over in a rather excruciating pain. When Sasuke slid underneath his weapon he also raised a foot and kicked the obvious male avatar in the groin and continued to slide right out underneath and back onto the platform.
“Serves you right,” Sasuke said, he drew his sword and continued to evade the Long Arms.
“Get him!” they shouted, then simultaneously thrust their spears forward at the ninja.
Sasuke reached out with his sword, holding it in a vertical position and let all three of the spear weapons block each other after hitting his own sword. With that he turned the blade with the flat part of it facing himself and pushed with all of his might! One of the Soldiers fell down, he must have been the weakest of the three, and the other two just moved backwards slightly and regained control of their spears. Sasuke swung around and clanged his blade against the shaft of the spear of another of the Soldiers, knocking it into the last of the Soldiers. It happened to hit the third Soldiers face and sent him to the ground, all while Sasuke reared back with his sword and swung in a striking motion across his body at the head of the last standing Knight of War, whom ducked and dodged the attack but missed that Sasuke had raised his foot and kicked him in the face as soon as he ducked.
It was a good plan, it kind of just fell into place without even thinking about it. Sasuke had hoped that the Soldier would duck, it was a prepared combination that he had thought of in quests earlier. A feint is what it is sometimes related to, though with a sword and a foot instead of fists. And now with all four of the Soldiers sprawled out on the ground, one grasping his groin, he hustled over them and came to that final platform and stood in front of the Chaos Gate.
Speaking nothing Sasuke warped out of the Theta server. He went through the menu and changed the server that he would be hosted at, as with such, the teleporting rings formed from his head down and took his character data away into a golden shine and teleported them into a stream of data and then to his destination.
The darkness came over him again, but this one would be short lived. Changing from server to server was not too hard, it wasn’t like loading an entire field and dungeon when he decided to go out on a quest and such, it only loaded the Root Town and not all of the other fields that he could possibly go to.
“Welcome to Mac Anu,” the female voice chattered.
“I wonder if I can mute that...” Sasuke pondered in annoyance toward the welcome voice. He had heard it too many times already, hopefully he would not have to hear it too much anymore. “I better head to guild manor; the Knights will be following closely if they aren’t here already!”
With that stated, the clan leader attempted to make his way to his clan mansion where he could safely hide away in the basement or in the War Room. There were players all over the place, they didn’t seem to be drawn to Sasuke as they were in the Theta server, none recognized him. Sasuke skipped a few steps when running down the stairs leading to the main level of Mac Anu, the bridge was directly in front of him and then he would need to follow along to the rear of the rather large court just beyond the bridge.
Still players swarmed, coming from all directions and bumping into each other in some cases. Sasuke tried his best not to look directly at anyone; his sights were set on the safety of the AOD Mansion. He came to the edge of the bridge, there were many players standing at the side of it looking at the beautiful scenery. The water looked so life-like, it was completely nostalgic. Even the sky was perfect; it was a mirror image of the real world sky probably located at CC Corps headquarters, when the sun goes down there then the sun goes down here, it was a perfect set up. The sun was at high noon at the current time, blazing aflame in the middle of the blue sky, only a few light clouds polka dotted the sky.
Sasuke walked across the bridge, which had to be his favorite part of this particular Root Town. All sorts of players gathered there and spoke of all sorts of different things; the young players spoke of how school was for them earlier in the day, other seasoned players stayed in character and spoke about their current quest, some had rumors, some were out to get information, it was the perfect place to see if anyone knew about the player-killings.
He walked to a certain player, a twin blade female with an extremely gorgeous body and hardly any clothing. It was definitely a sight to see, noting that there aren’t too many of those around the place, she must have used the Avatar modifier like Sasuke had used only a month or so ago now. He stopped behind her and looked straight at the back of her head and spoke towards her.
“Excuse me, do you happen to know about a new player-killer going around and killing players?”
The girl didn’t seem to acknowledge that Sasuke was even speaking with her; it was probably because he came from behind instead of face-to-face, but then he was asking about himself so it was probably a better idea to ask from this position.
“Excuse me, Ma’am! Do you know about the big hacked player-killer that’s been going around lately?”
“Huh? Is someone talking to me?”
“Useless….” Sasuke said, he turned around and walked away… then he stopped and turned back to check out the hot body of the female player. His eyes swirled for a moment but soon shook his head and came back to normal with his sights set on the next person he thought might be able to help.
“Hey!” Sasuke shouted, “Hey there! Blademaster! I’ve got a question for ya!”
“Huh? Me?” the Blademaster said, he had a rather non-unique avatar, infact, he was standing next to another Blademaster whom looked exactly like himself.
“Yeah you. Hey man, do you know about that hacked player-killer that’s been making his rounds lately?”
“Oh, that dude with the Japanese helmet and the big red cape?” the Blademaster stated, “Yeah, I heard about him from the message boards. Some dude posted something about it, he musta gotten PK’d.”
“Do you know what his name is, by any chance?”
“Well… I think it started with an ‘S’, but I couldn’t be certain. The BBS has some more info about the dude, I think…”
“Thanks man, I appreciate it.”
Sasuke turned and walked away from him, the player turned around and minded his own business and then made a double take and watched Sasuke with a quirked head while he walked away.
“Wait a tick… was that the..?” the Blademaster said as he turned to his buddy, “Nah… couldn’t have been him. Why would he ask about himself?”
He moved to a spot on the bridge were no one was standing currently; he hunched over the edge of the bridge and looked down at the bridge.
I probably don’t have time for this, but it’s what I do…
I should get going…
“You hear about that ninja lookin guy that killed a Knight of War?”
“No, what’d he look like?”
Oh shit… I better get moving!
“Something about a blue jumpsuit, helmet, and a red cape. I think he was a Blademaster, at least that’s what they said on the BBS.”
“Oh yeah? Alright, I’ll keep on the lookout for him. I hate Player-Killers! He must have some nuts though, killing a Knight of War and all. Must be a strong guy at that!”
Sasuke turned and saw that the two players were females standing near the end of the bridge towards the large court area. He smirked and walked by them and spoke under his breathe.
“You should stay away from him… he’s dangerous.”
The two female players turned around, but Sasuke had walked straight past them already. They both looked back at each other with a question mark shown above their heads, then turned back to look into the river and spoke about other things all while Sasuke moved on to the open court area.
A large fountain sat in the center of the court area, building all around it, streamers streamed from one side to the other and criss-crossed all over the place. This was actually a great place for meeting people, as a matter of fact; there were dozens and dozens of players standing around speaking with each other in small groups. There were random players straying around the groups and speaking with one another, nothing too hard to get around. Hopefully none of them would recognize him without the cape; if they did then he would have to make a run for it to the AOD Mansion. He still couldn’t see any of the Knights of War standing around, though it was really odd that they weren’t present what-so-ever. They usually made large appearances in large crowds, and more specifically when they are looking for someone or something.
“You hear about that Player-Killer?” a Wavemaster said when Sasuke passed by, he turned around and started to walk around the small group of players that the Wavemaster was joined with.
“Yeah, he’s been doing a lot of killings lately. I don’t think it’s safe to go into any fields, ya know?” a rather rare Whipmaster said to the Wavemaster and the rest of the group, at that.
“One of my old party members was killed by him, it sucked cause his computer has a horrible connection as it is, so it took him forever to get back online!” a Heavy Axe player in the form of a female stated to said players, “I’m so pissed off! I hope he shows up, I’ll stick my axe in his face just for good measure!”
Sasuke grimaced and stopped in his tracks directly behind the Heavy Axe-woman; he took a few steps back and turned around to walk away. He moved on towards the fountain where a few groups of players were seated and speaking with one another.
Wow, that was a close one! I better watch my steps closely.
Only another half of the court area was left until the rather large and luxurious gate to the Guild Manor could be entered. Too bad for the regular players, only clan members could enter through the gate, they needed to have a special item that allowed their entrance that could only be given out by certain clan members. It wasn’t particularly AOD members only that set foot through the gates, there were tons of other clans out there, ones that weren’t too popular amongst the players, ones that were legendary clans, and some that weren’t even clans anymore but just decrepit old buildings with the name of a clan above the doorway.
“Wanna buy my grunty!”
A small twin blade player walked straight up to Sasuke with absolutely no hesitation. Sasuke stopped and looked down at the small player, his avatar was rather short and the players’ voice sounded like a child which more than likely meant that he was really a child in the real world.
“No, son, I’ve got a grunty at my clan house already. I don’t really have the time to take care of another.”
“Awww, but I have to go on vacation with my parents soon! He might die when I’m gone, I’d be soooooooooo upset!” the small twin blade said in a rather annoying young tone.
“Hey, I said no buddy. Don’t make a fuss over it. Nothing I can do for ya, kid!” Sasuke harshly retorted.
“WAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! You’re mean!!!” the player SCREAMED! Many other players stopped in the middle of their conversation and looked up; Sasuke hunched over and crouched down to the level of the small twin blade player.
“Hey! Hey! Calm down! Here, take this La Pumpkin that I’ve been holding onto for a long time. Feed it to your grunty, but I can’t take him with me, sorry!”
“Awww thanks so much mister!” he shouted at Sasuke’s lowered face.
“HEY! Quiet down, no need to scream, kiddo.”
“Ok, mister, whatever you say!” the young player said and strolled off holding his baby grunty that was nearly the same size as he was. What a weird young boy…
Sasuke walked up to the entrance to the Guild Manor; again, it can only be entered by players who are a part of a clan of some sort. The Army of Darkness was a legitimate clan and so Sasuke was allowed entrance to the area, a so-called ‘restricted area’. The mansion was not as big as some of the other mansions out there, but that was also due to the fact that there were other clans that are entirely too large to fit into the small mansion that the AOD had.
Sasuke needed to take a left as soon as he entered and walk down a block or two to where the AOD mansion would be located on the right side of the road. No other players walked this road, obviously none of the clan members of other clans were currently playing. He neared the location of his mansion and he heard some unfamiliar voices. Then again, most other players outside of the Army of Darkness were unfamiliar voices to him, so that means that the players were definitely not in the AOD under his command. Sasuke dodged to the shadow of the buildings on the opposite side of the road, rather dark for this time of the day, and he crouched down and walked along the wall.
“That guy is the commander?”
“Yeah, what a dirt bag.”
“Do you think he really did it, why would a person with such status do that?”
“I don’t ask questions, I just shut up and color. Do as your told, soldier, just guard the door.”
“Alright… but I still think this is all wrong.”
Shit… they ARE already here, go figure…
Sasuke hid behind the steps that led to a clan mansion across the way from the AOD mansion, the letters above the door spelled ‘VOT’, another clan whom arose around the time the AOD was created but has since fallen to ash.
“But seriously, why would he do something like that, unless he WANTS to slander the name of the AOD. That’s pretty dumb of a commander to do, don’t you think?”
“Yeah, he must have his reasons though. Either way, we still have to catch him and bring him to Headquarters in the Lambda server. The arrest warrant has shot up from being a small server-specific search to a large scale section-wide search.”
“Really? That’s nuts!”
“Well, he just PK’d one of our guys on a field in the Theta server, and then continued to resist our forces located at Dun Loireag. He’s a powerful player, that’s for sure.”
“Wow! I didn’t know he was that dangerous, and he PK’d one of our guys?! I hope we catch him soon.”
Damnit… I better leave then. Now that I know they’re here and such.
Sasuke slowly stepped backwards, retracing his ever so careful steps from the gate to this certain location. There was a little bit of a difference in his route back this time, when he stepped backwards he didn’t make a sound but as he continued back and made it to the next mansion to the right of the VOT mansion Sasuke stumbled upon something and fell backwards!
You freakin’ idiot!
“Shit!” he whispered.
“Hey, who the hell are you?” a Knight of War soldier said. He looked straight down at the fallen Sasuke, “Oh shit! It’s you!”
“Damnit!”
“Stay right there! You’re under arrest!”
“I didn’t do anything! Get away from me Soldier!”
Sasuke rolled backwards and went through the wide spread legs of the Long Arm who held his weapon en guard. He popped up to his feet and kicked the unready Soldier and sent him to his face on the ground. Sasuke turned around and ran away at his fastest without the use of a speed charm again since items weren’t allowed to be used in the Root Towns.
“Halt!” the partner of the fallen soldier shouted while running along with Sasuke. At this point almost every Knight of War had shouted some form of the command to ‘Halt’ yet Sasuke continued to run and disobey the lawful order.
All facts aside, Sasuke was not going to be caught by a mere foot soldier and guards men that belong to the Knights of War. Until someone with a higher status came about to assist in his capture, Sasuke would continue to resist, infact he would possibly kill again in order to get away and he would somehow become what the Knights of War are looking for.
There was still a span of a city block in between Sasuke and the gate to the court of Mac Anu where he could hide in the crowd of players. The majority of players in THE WORLD played through the Delta server because it was the beginner server, there were a lot more fields to play on, and with that there were more dungeons to explore, and more items to gain to help out in future quests on other servers, and furthermore, Mac Anu was the most sociable of the Root Towns so friends could be made and questing parties formed with ease.
Unfortunately for Sasuke and as stated before, Long Arm-class players were on par with Twin-Blades when it came down to speed. Though a Blademaster was fast and used lighter weapons than that of a Heavyblades two-handed and oversize weapons, he was still going to be slow compared to the soldier. Sasuke was somewhat lucky due to the fact that the current soldier after him was a few levels lower than he, making their speed just about on par, though the Long Arm was still a little faster than Sasuke.
Nothing was in his way aside from the pesky Knight of War. Only the one soldier chased Sasuke now, but he still expected reinforcements to enter the scene shortly. Until then he would persist to resist and continually run towards the gate. But just then….!
TH-WAK!
The soldier knew he couldn’t catch him at his current pace so he decided that desperate times call for desperate measures and he hurled the axe-ended spear at Sasuke’s feet and then jumped on top of the fallen Blademaster. They were ordered not to use any skills but simple melee was acceptable to neutralize the threat. Sasuke was now laying face forward on the ground with the Knight of War on his backside.
A good thing about the Blademaster class was that their strength most definitely would defeat any Long Arm and Twin Blade, only Heavyblades and Heavy axes were paramount. With that being said and Sasuke’s physical strength having a large gap compared to the Knight of War, he raised himself to the push-up position and rolled his body to the left to drop the soldier off of his back. The armor clad player toppled off of Sasuke but caught himself before falling completely. Both of them regained their footing; Sasuke took off running for the gate again, the soldier ran as well and out stretched his arms to grab Sasuke by the left bicep to prevent him from getting too far away.
Mista------ke!
Sasuke skidded to a stop and the soldier continued forward, unready for the random halt. His hand was still gripping Sasuke’s arm so Sasuke grabbed with his left hand onto the soldiers wrist and reached his forearm with his right and put himself in a sturdy defensive stance. Sasuke braced himself and gave a quick tug at the players’ digital arm. He pivoted on his right heel, his right foot forward and left being behind, Sasuke swung the soldier around 180- degrees and released and watched the Knight of War stumble and fall into a rather large wooden crate. These same crates are used as ‘space fillers’ in almost every Root town, if they weren’t there then the towns would be so mundane, each street would look like the next, there would be no diversity between one place and the next.
The crate gave way and shattered when the unarmed Long Arm fell atop it. Sasuke turned around and continued his sprint towards the gate. Just as soon as he was only one mansion away from the gate the doors started to close and two guards ran into the road on the Guild Manor side of the gate. They each took a defensive stance, the gate was surely closing but ever so slowly, Sasuke withdrew his sword from its scabbard, a no-no in any Root town. They were all three en guard and Sasuke continued running at the opposing force, his blade held low and to the right of himself. They each charged towards each other now, the Long Arms held their weapons out at Sasuke like they were lances.
The door was still closing; it was a rather large wooden door- closely associated with the reinforced doors of a medieval castles’ front gate. Heavy in the real world, heavy in THE WORLD, it would still only be another minute or so until the door completely shut and trapped Sasuke inside of a ‘lions den’. If he was to be stuck in this area then he surely had no place to run and would definitely be caught. He had no choice but to plunge through the individuals in front of him charging in his direction.
Sasuke needed to use the fancy work in order to pull off this action, the task was to stall the Long Arms and get past them and out the gate in a VERY short amount of time!
“Do not resist us!” they shouted at Sasuke, as if he would listen. They came within range and Sasuke made his move.
He ducked down and rolled to the right of the soldier in front and to the right of Sasuke. He twirled about on the floor almost like he was break dancing with his sword slashing around. He stopped his spin with a quick sweep of his blade at the ankles of the soldier closest to himself, who jumped above the sword and pointed his spear at Sasuke. Sasuke rolled to his feet and attacked the second Soldier with his sword striking the shaft of his respective spear. Having moved out of the way of the first Soldiers plunging strike Sasuke now stood between two threats. The first turned and swung his spear out around him to hit Sasuke on the head, but he ducked at the nick-of-time and looked up to see the same spear hit the second Soldiers’ face in replacement of his own. The Knight of War fell flat on his back, Sasuke now countered against the striking individual. He swiftly turned about as he stood and jabbed his left fist into the players’ stomach.
Sasuke sheathed his sword and made for a dash to the heavy gate that was nearly closed!
“No,no,no,no,no,no,no!” Sasuke repeated as he came to the closing door. A spear landed only inches away from his head while he attempted to squeeze through the gap between the mighty gates. He glanced over to it and saw the spear was stuck in the wooden gate, and then saw that the two soldiers had recovered from their fall.
“Gotcha!” he said as he slipped through the crack.
He made it through and looked back to see another spear flying toward his face, he had no reaction time for this one. It would be his death day when that blade struck his face! And then the door slammed shut! Sasuke paused with an expression of relief, the spear had been caught at the end of the shaft in between the two massive wooden doors, and the sharp spike at the tip of the spear was only millimeters away from breaking the skin on Sasuke’s face. Had he not taken an extra step away from the closing gate then at this time he would be frantically trying to log back on.
“Safe…” He sighed. Sasuke’s heart still raced, he turned around to see all of the faces of those players that inhabited the court area. Almost all of them were the same people that hung out in the area not 10 minutes ago.
Sasuke needed to try and stay away from the Root towns, it had been decided. Time to hit the fields! First thing was first, what field to go to? It was a rather easy solution, all he would need to do is go to the Chaos Gate and spout out a few keywords and allow himself to warp to another field. That just seemed too easy, he needed something more at this time.
How about one of those fields that I supposedly PK’d someone?
Sasuke thought to himself, he snuck through the crowds of people in the court and to the main street of Mac Anu. The bridge lay in front of him and the buildings all to his sides, people strolled about still and luckily none of them noticed Sasuke as the perpetrator. The idea was to get to the Chaos Gate and gate-out to the Theta server once more and then hit up another field from that location, since the Knights of War knew that he was in the Delta server it would be a smarter choice to switch it up again, and so he did. Sasuke moved along, his feet clicked and clacked as he walked over the streets of stone and to the stairway to the Chaos Gate. He even passed by a couple of non-vigilant Knights of War, spear wielding and all, that were standing at the entrance to the Chaos Gate chamber where every person has passed through at least once in their time playing THE WORLD.
“Okay, now to log into the Theta server,” Sasuke said as he raised one hand towards the spiraling gate. The menu options popped up on the screen so that Jonas could choose what he wanted to do so he chose the option to gate-out to the Theta server and so his avatar that was Sasuke merged into a field transferring tunnel, specified only through the three golden rings that covered the avatar and took the data away to transfer and load the next scene.
When the transfer was complete Sasuke looked up at the sky of the Theta server, and of course the normal “Welcome to Dun Loireag” welcoming chimed as soon as he set foot on ground. Sasuke turned straight back to the Chaos Gate to log into a field where he could hopefully get away from the Knights of War. Just as he was thinking where he could find one of the names of the fields that he supposedly player-killed one of the other players in this world he realized that it would be a bad idea to investigate like such. Knights of War were swarming everywhere he went! They would definitely inhabit the fields that he was seen player-killing, so this was a bad idea. But he needed to move quickly, not only did the Knights of War know of the player killings, but he was also known by other players as Sasuke of the Blue Sky so there are many other people who could look at him and recognize him in only a moments notice and then he would be done. He thought hastily and spat out a few names…
“Theta: Hidden Vindictive Fallen Angel!” he called out, and in the second that he ended pronouncing the last word he was teleported straight out of the Theta server with no problems what so ever. The problems would arise as soon as he landed on the field though, this problem would be in the form of….
A Valkyrie!
Sasuke’s avatar landed on a rather tough darkness-type field, it is a level 27 field with monsters running amok and with dozens of monster portals to accompany the already roaming ones. But those were the least of his worries, what he had teleported in front of was none other than Hrist, one of the three Valkyries that happened to be tormenting the Army of Darkness as of late.
“You’ve fallen into the trap just as I had thought you would,” the armor-clad female beckoned, “Lay down your arms and come with me, or your clan will die.”
“You’ve got to be a fuckin’ idiot to think I’d allow a threat to pass on my clan. Are you serious?!” Sasuke shouted as he opened up a reactionary gap between him and the winged woman.
“Fool! You dare challenge me? You shall watch with your own eyes the fate of your precious Army. I’ll personally tear them limb from limb while you watch helplessly!” the black armored Valkyrie raised her mighty sword and swung it back so to strike with great force. She prepared he assault, but Sasuke wasn’t about to just let this whole thing go down so easily.
“Watch your words, bitch! They’ll come back to haunt you!” Sasuke revealed a new weapon on this day, a prized Blademaster weapon that came equipped with the Earth-elemental techniques, Matoi. But he wasn’t about to dive in head first and not think about what he was doing, first thing was first; this girl needed to lose a little bit of her physical attack power, and that would only be done by casting…
“Dek corv!” Sasuke called out as quick as he could, and just as he did a glyph formed underneath and overhead of Hrist. She only grew angrier with this, but it’s not like this spell would actually matter, she is the more physically stronger of the Valkyries. Sasuke moved back still, he feinted away from the enemy, who had an odd and unexplainable attractiveness about herself. She dashed straight by Sasuke who had feinted to the left rather than back any further and her sword only caught a little bit of Sasuke’s chest armor; Hrist was definitely going straight for a wounding blow, she had plans to torture Sasuke until his untimely death.
“This could be bad…” Sasuke panted a little, he wasn’t out of shape he was just a little excited for this battle since he hadn’t had one like this in so long. Sasuke needed to cast one more spell before he would be happy with this battle, it would give him a little bit more of an edge and also raise his HP gradually as he continued the battle, but only for a limited time. “Rig Saem!”
“No you don’t!” Hrist shouted, she was then seen flying above the ninja-like avatar with her sword held with a relaxed hand and a scroll in the other hand. She tossed the scroll down at Sasuke and it opened up and shattered the spell that Sasuke was just about to cast on himself with its’ own effects. A Dark Traitor scroll was dropped onto Sasuke and suddenly, with its activation, bubbles of what seemed to be a black void had risen from the parchment and bubbled up all around the seasoned veteran. In only a quick second each and every one of the black vortexes were drawn in and doused Sasuke in the darkness that they were, they then combined and drew out all light that once did light up Sasuke’s bright avatar. When the vortex disappeared, after having struck Sasuke like somewhat of a sonic wave of malign energy, there was Sasuke on the ground in pain from the level 2 darkness-type spell that he had just been administered.
Goddamit Sasuke… get up!
“I GOT this!” Sasuke rolled to the right and propped himself back up to his feet with the help of his sword. He had narrowly escaped another strike from Hrist, who had lunged her weapon down to the fallen and hurt soldier of darkness. Quickly though, he raised his sword over his head and jumped straight at the low flying opponent who was coming down to retrieve her weapon. His sword lit up in a brownish-orange color, a small burst of the energy seemed to shine more towards the tip of the blade. As he came closer and closer to the wide-eyed Valkyrie he called out the name with all the anger and hatred that he had left in his body, not that he couldn’t summon any more of it later though.
“GAN...” he shouted, spacing out his words dramatically, “…SLASH!!!”
And so the armor-donned feminine warrior of Norse mythology reached across her body to block with her own limbs and armor so to debuff the attack, but the damage was done. Sasuke slashed diagonally from the upper right to bottom left and then the upper left to bottom right sides of his target. A strong technique, this is, but not nearly strong enough to take the woman out in one blow. Her armor wasn’t even scarred from the attack, but she did take a bit of damage from it; there was no way that someone could get in a fight with Sasuke of the Blue Sky and leave without even a scratch, whether they won or lost.
Sasuke couldn’t help himself but fall to the ground, there was nothing for him to kick off of other than Hrist, but she was already flying around the blue Blademaster with her weapon in hand and warming up another strike to finalize Sasuke’s existence as a free soul. He landed on the ground feet first and then turned straight back around to block an incoming blow from Hrist, she was diving down at him with full force behind her wings and her sword extended to the utmost reaches in hopes to skewer Sasuke through but to no avail. Sasuke raised his weapon just at the right time to knock the incoming sword above him and let the Valkyrie zoom straight past him once again. He wasn’t too lucky this time, Hrist caught onto that trick a long time ago and she had put it in full reverse so she could stop and turn around to strike Sasuke from behind again. It seemed that she liked it from behind, but to each their own.
“Gan Don!” Sasuke called out. This fight was a lot of spells and special techniques, tons of SP was being drained in this battle, but then it was definitely a tough fight to go about anyway. At this pace he would run out of SP in no time flat, but there wasn’t anything that he could do about it because he couldn’t bother to use any Mage’s Souls in a fight so high paced, any movement like that could allow for an opening so that Hrist could get that wounding blow in there to stop Sasuke in his tracks.
“No way!” Hrist shouted, “OrBiAni Don!!”
“Holy Fu--!”
It was too late; Sasuke technique was way too underpowered as compared to the one that was being tossed at him. Who comes up with these names anyway? Why couldn’t the creator of the Darkness spells just titled them something like “Ani Don 2” or “Ani Don 3” instead of tossing it a name that SOUNDS like it’s going to hurt? Maybe it was just the fact that the technique was so strong that it needed a weird name to give it that lasting effect like pain was in the near future for the individual that was being targeted by this spell. Up until this point in time, Sasuke hadn’t even heard of this spell, so he knew he was in a lot of trouble. It turns out that the spell she had just ‘fucked’ Sasuke with is a level 3 Darkness dropping spell that would practically annihilate Sasuke’s HP in a matter of seconds.
The black void once again formed over Sasuke’s head, and instead of just standing by for a moment like it does on other techniques, the darkness formed again and again and continuously dropped onto Sasuke’s body to cause intensive trauma to his physical being. It even looked like lightning coursed through the spell, and an explosion of a dark flame was the final touch to it. A level 3 darkness spell; an awesome damage that could cause a death blow in one shot to an unsuspecting opponent, not even Sasuke and all his mightiness could dodge or block something of this magnitude. But the smoke didn’t even clear before Hrist cast another spell on the unsuspecting Sasuke, he was so out of the loop now that he would surely be beaten. He entered this fight with hardly even a chance to win, whatever chance he did have was not going to show up until he gave Hrist a run for her money, but sadly that would not be seen today.
“Suvi Lei,” Hrist claimed with her goddess-like voice thundering through the field. This was yet another spell that Sasuke was unaware of, so many years of play in THE WORLD and yet there were still some things that even he didn’t know too much about. The spell bound him pretty much; it was a paralysis spell that made it so he couldn’t move. This wasn’t all that she was going to do though, no it was not. She was not done playing her little game with the Blademaster who calls himself ‘Sasuke of the Blue Sky’. As the dust settled and Sasuke’s avatar was standing there, frozen in time, she came down and landed in front of him. The only thing that could move was Sasuke’s eyes, but his eyes alone weren’t able to defeat this warrior, this Valkyrie.
“I told you not to challenge me, did I not? Now you suffer the consequences of your own actions, heathen.”
Sasuke couldn’t speak; he couldn’t say a word since he was paralyzed. The technique would wear off in another minute or two but that didn’t matter anyway, by that time he would be defeated at the hands of Hrist, the black Valkyrie. She had a little more talking to do before she finished off Sasuke though, and with such she continued her one sided conversation.
“You’ll be bound and your data will be exploited, in the real world you may even fall into a coma like all the others do, how unfortunate for you. In due time I will single handedly break down your entire clan and destroy all that you have cherished in this world, and what for? For Lenneth! Each one of you will pay for my loss, each one of you will die by my hand all for Lenneth! It will be at MY whim that your beloved clan will be destroyed!!”
But her story of grandeur had gone on way too far and for way too long, time to finish this battle with a bang, or at least a dull thud.
“I hope you’re prepared to meet your maker,” she said before summoning up the last bit of power she needed in order to deal the final strike, “Anid Spiral!”
Her voice seemed to echo a hollow echo across the field. Her blade turned black and she hopped only a foot off the ground and came back to the ground to start spinning on her heels and toes. The sword passed through Sasuke’s avatar so many times that it was uncountable, the damage was so great that when Sasuke finally did fall over he was blacking out. Before he was completely done and his avatar blinking in red he was able to do one thing before he was done and fully blacked out, and that was a Flash mail to his Second-in-Command, Sekai. He only had that moment to spare before his vision went dark and what he wrote was this.

His vision faded from color to black-and-white and before his vision went away fully, and he had fallen and laid flat on the ground, all he could see was Hrist’s black gauntlet reaching down to his face…..
Then all was black.
