Title: one sin?
Ko_Inuyasha - January 27, 2007 08:59 PM (GMT)
One Sin One Sin One Sin
Everyone knows the two that beat this uber special event but does anyone know what the event was? All I keep hearing is they beat some super stong boss. It doesn't seem like enough to earn a rare avatar and title.

As the story goes, in an early version of the world there was rumored to be a field with absurdly strong monsters and supposibly one undefeatable one. The monster was found to be the Spectrum Dragon, who's hitpoints remained the same after any normal attack and skill. Eventually, Balmung and Orca realised that the dragon's weakness changed after an element based skill was used, and hence making it weak to the opposing element of the one just used. After an unknown length of time, the monster's HP (9,999) was reduced to zero and Albireo (A system admin that witnessed the battle), granted Balmung MVP status and a unique charcter upgrade (one that apparently allowed him to change any aspect of his character), that he used to give himself wings.
To summerise:
Balming and Ocra defeated the Spectrum Dragon.
Balmung, for the one discovering its weakness was rewarded with his MVP status and his wings
At least that's what I've found to be the case...
(OOC: Thanks to wikipedia for the info)

Sounds like Ocra got jipped.
Bane - January 27, 2007 11:20 PM (GMT)
Apparently he did. All he recieved after the battle was his title as a descendent of Fiana or whatever...
Jpec07 - January 27, 2007 11:53 PM (GMT)
No, Orca didn't get gipped. In fact, he got the most powerful weapon in the game as a result of the One Sin event: 'Ends of Earth.' Even though it's only level 11, the 'Ends of Earth' has the highest combined stat of physical attack and physical accuracy (PAtk of 28 and PAcc of 30 - that's unheard of for a blademaster's sword!).
Bane - January 27, 2007 11:57 PM (GMT)
Wow! I wish I had a sword that grand! I would be able to...well...kill stuff with it! XD So I guess Balmung got his wings and Orca got his Sword. Sounds fair to me.

But don't a few players around The World have wings as well? Are Balmung's wings have some sort of special ability that the other wings don't have?

I'm pretty sure Balmung's wings allow him complete flight (meaning he has no altitude restrictions), whereas most normal wings only allow for levitation up to two feet. Don't quote me as having said that, though, as I'm not even sure myself...

((OOC: ::Leaps from the skies and bashes Dien in the face:: Bad coma patient! Bad!
You can't access the BBS in a coma. It's pretty difficult. Bad Dien... bad...))
Bane - January 28, 2007 03:05 AM (GMT)
I would imagine his wings do not enable complete flight, but rather an upped up version of the wings we all know from around here. Think of our normal wings as level 1, and his say are level 8. His wings enable him to jump higher, glide and float, but to a much greater extent than ours. As all my information, it's only speculation.
Mod Edit: you were vague enough to not get an OOC Hammering. The BBS is an IC area, please be sure to note that in the future.

I keep hearing these names all throughout the world and i think i know who they are. Does anyone know where to find them? Also whats made them so special?
Nalerenn - February 24, 2007 01:20 AM (GMT)
Orca and Balamung? Some special event. The One Sin, or something. I can't remember the details, but some of the other players definately will. Y'know, the Balamung/Orca fangirls will most likely spam this thread with "OMGWTFORCA" or "OMGWTFBALAMUNG" without actually answering the question. But yeah. One Sin event. Only ones to clear it, if I remember correctly.
lugiablaster - February 24, 2007 01:51 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I've heard of them. OnceI actually knew who they were, but now a days, not many people do. My memorie's getting worse every day =\ But weren't they known as the "Defiers of Finance" or something?
Nalerenn - February 24, 2007 02:33 AM (GMT)
Google'd it. "Descendants of Fiana". Like I said, they were the only ones to cleat the One Sin Event, which was a powerful monster of some sort. Didn't find the exact details, really. Odd. I would've thought The World Wiki would've had the stats on it, but apparently not.
Lunero - February 24, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
Lol, yeah that is weird that hey don't have the stats huh?
Amethyst - February 24, 2007 06:48 AM (GMT)
Ah, Orca and Balmung: two of the finest players this World has ever seen. Actually, there's already been a topic made about this, so I'm just gonna test out my new moderative powers here for a minute and merge 'em...
Lunero - March 14, 2007 12:11 AM (GMT)
(OOC: I wondered what happened to my topic! ok. )
But yeah, does anyone know where they can be fuond? or if they may be present at events?
