I'm sure that you've probably been asked this multiple times, if not more, but, is there going to be a gameplay update? I mean, are you going to update the Roleplaying to R:2, like using the new classes, gameplay ETC.?

No, we will not be updating to an R:2-friendly manner of roleplay, because according to the RPG's timeline, R:2 hasn't been released yet. .hack//DIVERGENCE takes place in the "golden years" of The World: the years when Aura is in charge and when there is pretty much nothing wrong with the game. For timeline purposes, this period falls between the end of //QUARANTINE and the beginning of //DUSK. Because of this, there isn't any hint of the web crashing, and the fires that necessitated the beginning of R:2 have not happened yet.

You know, it's kind of funny how Divergence has actually lasted almost 4 years inbetween Quarantine and LotT era. Technically, this would be almost the perfect time for us to transfer. Just a little timeline thingy. Not that I think we should or anything.

Because I'm weird like that, I looked up when exactly Divergence takes place in the story line.

-SIGN and Kite's Story happens in 2010.
- Divergence happens in 2012
- DUSK happens in 2014.
- GU happens around 2018 or so.

We ain't forcin everyone to give up the characters they've worked really hard on over the years and restart on some fucked up post-apocalyptic thing that really has nothing to do with the original The World.

Divergence, by now, is somewhere around 2014, probably. We aren't real big on continuity around here... you can really think of yourself as anywhere from 2011 to 2016. We're in a generic timeslot. Seriously.

Will we make an R:2 companion board? You bet. Eventually. Once this board recovers from the latest round of bullshit, thankyousomuchinvisionfree, and once we have enough data (right now, we have NOTHING on an ENTIRE class) to do so. And once the mods stop dropping like flies.

No, Divergence will NEVER become R:2. It's just not nice to have people sign up for one RP and then suddenly force it to be something else.

Yes, we will likely add an R:2 companion/affiliate board on eventually. Likely by the end of summer or the year, but not right now.
