Title: Affiliation?
Description: With eachother

Sakoya - February 13, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
I have an Avatar the Last Air Bender RPG on ARN and I was wondering if you guys would like to affiliate with me and vise versa. Here's the link to my RPG and the affiliation button. Thanks for your time:

I'll have to ask our other admin. We currently have no real spot to list our affiliations, since the old main page... isn't exactly looked at anymore. But if we can figure out a visible place to list affiliations, I'm perfectly willing to do so. I'll have to dig out our mini banner, of course, but I think I know exactly where it is...

Sakoya - February 13, 2006 06:13 PM (GMT)
Alright, thanks, I actually found this RPG from ARN, so anyone on ARN sees your sites, thus seeing my button

Lyra - February 14, 2006 02:12 AM (GMT)
Alright, we figured it out, so it works as thus:

^^ thankies.

Shia - February 14, 2006 03:30 AM (GMT)
Are we really allowed to affiliate with each other(Divvy)? We do have a lot of members. I don't want to suggest my site myself lest you start to get a ton of requests.

Lyra - February 14, 2006 03:44 AM (GMT)
We obviously don't want a huge pile of affiliates, but if you've got a site with a decent membership (say, around 100 active members... Divvy has over 200, for a scale) then we may consider it. Things such as Ichida's RPG-maker game we might also consider. Nothing's guarunteed from within the site though, unfortunately. But the more even our two sites are on scale, the more likely we'll affiliate.

Shia - February 14, 2006 04:03 AM (GMT)
Then perhaps this should be pinned for requests themselves?

Yuki Sato - February 17, 2006 05:54 AM (GMT)
Maybe we should have a sub-forum where people who have an accepted affiliation with Divvy, can post their affiated site links there, along with a description and important updates in the site.

Ichida - November 16, 2006 05:16 AM (GMT)
Here's someone to affiliate with - an actual .hack forum RP, set in R:2 from //G.U.. Several Divvers have already joined. :P

For the record, you don't need to add the "index.php" to board URLs.

Ichida - June 14, 2007 08:34 AM (GMT)
Now that I'm finally finished school, I'd like to once again propose an affiliation between .hack//DIVERGENCE, which laid my RPing roots, with my own site, .hack//GODSLAYER'S LEGACY, the fruit bore by those same roots. With my time freed up, I'll be paying much more attention and updating as frequently as possible, as well as some other ideas I have cooked up in my head. GL has been rather dead lately except for the few tournament matches going on, so I need as much exposure as I can get to drum up activity. I'd be happy to have anyone from //DIVERGENCE contribute to my RP. Feel free to ask any questions, or provide any comments or suggestions as you see fit. I've had //DIVERGENCE's button on my site for months already, and I've got a button created and hosted for your use as well.

Please consider it. *bow*

Sekai - June 17, 2007 09:08 AM (GMT)
We'll consider the affiliation when you begin roleplaying here and reach level 15.

Ichida - June 17, 2007 08:50 PM (GMT)
...o...kay? That seems kinds of random. "Begin" roleplaying? I've played plenty. I just got tired of being a Twin Blade after I hit lv10; they were too played out, and then I got busy with school, my own projects, and keeping up with game releases a while after becoming a Heavy Blade. And why level 15? What does how many quests I've done have to do with affiliation? If participation or contribution is your reasoning, I think I've contributed my fair share to //DIVERGENCE. I'm still in the top ten posters.

Jpec07 - June 17, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
  1. If I remember correctly, you had said something along the lines of, "I'm not roleplaying on Divergence again until they implement the R:2 classes." While this may have been an idle threat, it still stands out.
  2. The last quest of yours I have found in either server is months old at least and hasn't been completed.
  3. Your profile is still a dead link, which means you haven't taken the time and don't care about Divergence enough to repost your profile.
  4. Your level is only 4. Even with ten levels beforehand, a reset is a reset. If you want to show your dedication to Divergence (which I know you've been a very strong conversationist in the GD when it comes to matters of .hack, but not much else), work your way back to level 15 again. You got to level 10 before, so you know what it takes--just do it again.
  5. The reason we want you to prove your dedication to roleplaying here (and not to being an informant on all things .hack) is because we don't want sites leeching off our activity. It's all well and good if we don't lose activity to an affiliated site, but if your only goal is to get your site advertising on ours for free, well, we really can't have that.
  6. As for top-ten posters, most of that is GD stuff...
  7. And, if you wish, Nighthand is the man with the keys to putting affiliation links on the bottom of our board. Talk to him if you want to override us (you did help give us NISDIP, after all).

Sydofh - June 17, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
It's just a small button. I really doubt anything that tiny at the bottom of the page will have any effect on the community or the site. Especially considering that people have been advertising site after site in their signatures for 4+ years now, sometimes with images about five times the size of these affiliation buttons, and yet this here site still remains.

Now if this affiliate were for free stuffs.... Then I'd be all clickety-click.

Stane - June 17, 2007 11:58 PM (GMT)
Heh, it sounds like you guys are scared of his being better than ours. XD

(edit: Well, as a few know, I hate these silly discussions because they seem so idiotic and simplistic. However, this reminds me of an old argument on this site a long time ago. So before the same outcome is reached...I thought that I would shove my foot in the door. Do not get use to it though, Hac is a neutral country of Divergence XD.)

Maybe I should input my opinion in here because it does sound a bit like this is a tiny squabble which could escalate in the future.

I really do not see the problem with the affiliation thing at all. I mean it helps us both out as I see it. It helps introduce others to the site as well as vice versa. I really doubt Divergence will go under with one more affiliate added. After all, we added that Air Bender one when the person was not even registered completely and Ichida has been part of this site for a long time and as stated previously: he has helped create Nisdip and the keyword guide.

However, do not think I am saying this just because Ichida is a member of my clan. I also have my fair share of requests.

I want to see some of what has been listed above. Such as more activity from you, Ichida. You just seemed to disappear since R2 was not implemented. I think it would help your case tremendously if you came back into activity here as well. After all, it seems sort of selfish to ask for an affiliation, if you just disappear into the depths of the abyss once again.

So I say to the mods and admins: If an unregistered member could get an affiliation, why does it matter if Ichida gets one? Also Dien, your comments about Ichida not caring for Divergence is a little uncalled for. After all, you said yourself:

Does that Statement not contradict your statement of

Just a little thought. Nisdip may have come after or before his change in classes, but to me it proves the dedication to the site.

Thanks for listening....

Your Daily, Neighborhood Hacorie.

Sekai is an Admin now, in case I wasn't the only one who hadn't immediately noticed. Yes, you can all think your arguments are grand and intelligent, and maybe they are, but it doesn't really matter.

Just the truth.

She says level 15 (and the fact that most, if not all of the mods agree)? It's level 15. So we can squash this whining now, from whoever may be doing so (and even the argument itself), because it isn't going to change. Even talking to Nighthand won't get you anywhere. She has all the authority she needs to say what she did and have it stay; holding the actual keys or no.

I'm not trying to be an asshole (though I don't particularly care if you take it that way), but I'm just stopping a pointless discussion before it gets heated or anything of the sort.

Peace and all that.

Sekai - June 18, 2007 03:01 AM (GMT)
Here's the thing people:

I didn't do this completely on my own, I'm not comfortable with making such a decision without asking someone who's been here damn near since the beginning or has been since the beginning.

The only one on that late at night when I thought of it? Lyra. I talked to her about it for about an hour and a half to hash it out completely and as it is now; it's been greatly toned down from what the original conditions were.

Asking for Ichida to contribute some activity that isn't in the GD and shows that he's still a part of the roleplaying aspect of Divergence should not be causing this big of an issue.

But if you're all this upset over it; my AIM is in my profile, as is my MSN and there's always my PM box to flood with complaints, comments, insults, flames, creative 'you can go shove a-' and questions of all kinds. I'm more than willing to sit and take the time to talk to anyone who's needing a question answered. If I can't answer it, I'll find someone who can.

Ichida - June 18, 2007 04:59 AM (GMT)
Ah, it's somewhat comforting to know you're all still just as elitist and centralized as I am, XD. I feel among kindred spirits. I guess I probably will resume my roleplaying here, now that I'm out of high school. :P

Jpec07 - June 18, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
At least for the summer. Once college hits, it'll be a different story. Trust me, I know.

Anyway, congrats to Sekai on admin-dom. I had completely missed the memo.

Oh, and should we post some kind of official affiliation rule/regulation list at the beginning of this thread?

Kragt - May 5, 2009 01:40 AM (GMT)
I am sorry to come back from the dead and bring this back up so suddenly.
But I wanted to ask what exactly are the rules for affiliation now? I want to try and affiliate a site I am on with this one.

Thanks in advance.

Lyra - May 5, 2009 05:08 AM (GMT)
Have a decently active site that isn't going to die in three weeks like a lot of our affiliations have

Give me a mini-banner and a link, I'll post it on here

You get to do the same for us

That's... pretty much it.

Kragt - May 20, 2009 12:02 AM (GMT)
Heyloo! My site is up and running now. We got nice members and would like to affiliate with you. ^_^

Where is your button so I can add it to the site?

Edit: I realize how stupid the above comment is. I found your button and once our site is approved for affiliation your button will be added to our site.
