Weird = Right
Thats = Wrong
That's = Right
Freind = Wrong
Friend = Right
Moderater = Wrong
Moderator = Right
Grammer = Wrong

'The World' = Right
I'll edit more things in that people always get wrong as they come to mind. Feel free to add to this topic.

how r u (and other chat speak on message forums) = die n00b
How are you? (et al.) = right
Leeting (and I don't care how you prefer it spelled) in general tends to piss me off as it's hard to read. This kinda gets its own category outside of chat speak.
Talkin gliket his. Orlikethis. = die twice n00b!
Or even like this see my no punctuation its all powerful no and i can do runons too and thats no problem for me cos im demonstrating annoying sentences and runons paragraphs they tend to last a page = decimated n00b ¬ ¬
oh yeah, and here's a couple more:
know = to understand something or have it in your KNOWledge
no = the opposite of yes
we're = we are
were = past tense of was

I am pretty sure that some of the words like grammer and grammar, are both right because, one is spelt the Canadian way and one American like the word colour is Canadian and is right where as the Americans spell it color. And I hate when people say I spelt colour wrong when I spelt it right in my country, I am pretty sure there are some others like that as well, just a heads up. Stupid American spell checker says I spelt colour wrong lol.

No, 'grammar,' is British, so is therefore also Canadian. 'Colour,' is British, and therefore is also Canadian. Most of the qualms listed here are accurate for both Canadian/British spellings and American spellings.
(Heck, I might even be spelling, 'therefore,' incorrectly, but you get the meaning.)
Oh, and I'm pretty sure you can set the spell-checker to British English. ;)

affect- to have an influence on or effect a change in. As in, status affect- you were affected by the snake poison entering your veins.
effect- to bring about/execute. As in, that was an effective attack.
I found this one highly confounding 'til lately myself.:3

'the World' = Wrong 'The World' = Right |
actually, it depends on how you refer to it. Both capital would be a proper noun using both as the word. However, you can refer to it as "the World" if you intend to refer to it as simply World, and exclude the "the" as part of the sentence structure. also, if not being used as a proper noun, you can leave both lower case, depending on how you prefer to refer to it as. I personally like proper noun.
also, words used as the same meaning can confuse people. rose the flower and rose the past tense of rising. I know i've seen one sentence that had "the rose rose" in it, and someone said it was wrong because 'they said the flower twice.' This was not on divergence however, but the idea remains the same. read the sentence as a whole to understand individual words.
I would list countles leet speak corrections, but thats a whole nother topic to itself...and i dont think there is a "proper" way to do leetspeak.
