Title: Hikari no Tsuki
Description: Kamina's last Wavemaster quest...(maybe)
Kamina - June 19, 2005 01:01 AM (GMT)
“Mou, mendokusu ne…” Kamina sighed, as he made his way towards the clan ship. He had not seen any Figment Raiders for a while, so this would be a good time to see how they were doing. Cesriah had disappeared during the recruitment, and he had not heard anything from her since. It kind of sucked, since he was seriously willing to follow her, if she had given him any clue as to where she went. Maybe that was the point…
In any case, it did not matter, anymore. He was sure that there would be others willing to quest with him. If not, then he wasn’t the defenseless Wavemaster he used to be when he would tag along behind the original Figment Raiders. However, something was happening that he needed to confirm with the other Raiders. He wanted to know if anyone else was having problems with their animal hacks. Multiple times he had blanked out, and his inner wolf had taken over. He was glad that he never had to show Jeri, or even Xan that side of him, for fear he may lose them forever. Lost in his thoughts, the Wavemaster found himself wandering along the deck of the Figment Raider’s home. He failed to notice that some were preparing their equipment while others were on their way to shops for items.
In a daze, Kamina wandered back off the ship, thinking to him in a way that if it was vocal, it might just resound all through out the capital city. His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a flashmail. The avatar belonged to an animalistic character. Obviously it was a Figment Raider. The letter indicated that they intended to go on a journey of some sort. He wasn’t sure as to what it was exactly, however If it gave him a chance to fit in again, and become one with the pack, he was going to go for it. First thing however was that he got rid of these clothes…and this wand.
He had given his most prized weapon, his Diabolic Wand to Xan, in order to protect his sister. He had intended to give it to Jeri, so that she could learn to live with darkness, and still keep her innocence. A lesson that needed to be learned in his eyes, however, it seems she’s learning it without the use of a fictional weapon. That was good.
The stone road under his feet felt as if each stone was made for the contours of his feet. However, this time he did not approach the Chaos gate with the intention of going directly to a dungeon. This time, he had a new goal in mind. The Theta Server. He was the last of the original Figment Raiders to this level and probably to this server. So it was time to see exactly what he was missing.
“Theta Server” He said calmly to the Chaos gate, as the slow spinning ring, started to pick up in revolutions. The slowly rippling center, started to churn harder than before, as it usually does before whisking a player away to another world. The pale yellow rings formed above the wolf’s head, and dropped on him, causing him to vanish.
Kamina - June 19, 2005 01:35 AM (GMT)
Within seconds, he found him staring at mountains and blue sky. The clouds in the distance were moving at a seemingly slow pace, and on top of some of the buildings were what appeared to be parachutes attached to each other, and blowing freely in the wind. The wind had also took its effect on him, blowing his navy blue hair into his eyes, and almost blowing his cap off his head, if it wasn’t for his ears. The fur on his tail seemed to have had a soft current starting as the wind blew across it. It felt good, so he wagged his tail happily as he browsed the keywords.
“Saa ne…” he muttered, glancing at the list of words. “Hmm, kore ga tanoshii wo mitte…..tabun….” he said and went to the chaos gate yet again. “Forbidden Voluptuous Twin Hills.” Again the Chaos gate whirred to life, and the rings took him to yet another place.
The air burned his lungs as it entered his body as the first breath drawn in the new area was one that allowed him to tell just where he was. It was a fire field. The monsters here would be of a fire type. Unfortunately for him, this was going to be an uncomfortable trek. The area around him reminded him of an “End of the World” scenario. Volcanoes as far as the eyes can see. The ground was cracked and broken, within the crevasse made by the dryness, magma leaked out. It didn’t rise above but stayed just high enough to know that if you tripped, you would feel it. However, Kamina was invigorated, he loved fires.
His native tongue came back as he glanced around the area in search for the first portal.
“Now…where is my first victim?” Not giving time for anything to answer, he instantly crouched on all fours and began to dash across the scorched field. It didn’t take long for the Wavemaster to find the first of much prey, in the form of two Stone Guardians, and a Menhir. It would have been easy to just take out the guardians, but noooo. The Menhir had to show up. , Kamina decided it would be the first to go, obviously. With a wild leap, the Wavemaster found himself clinging to the stone creature. Somehow, he managed to stay on it long enough to draw his Wand of the Sea. He wasn’t sure what exactly he could do, but it would be best to start off with some spell…
“GiRue Kruz!” The Wavemaster’s eyes gave off a deep blue glow, as ice descended in large spears towards the Menhir. The Wavemaster jumped off, twirling in the air and landing on one knee as the Menhir was pelted by the attack. The other two creatures, however, were not impressed by the attack, and began their own assault, throwing Kamina back and forth between them. About the fourth time this continued, The Wavemaster clung to the pillar the creature used as a leg.
“That’s quite enough,” he growled, and released another GiRue Kruz on the guardian. Without missing a beat, he turned towards the Menhir, switching to his Adrian Wand, and began another spell. This time, his eyes took on a deep violet glow, as he began his next level 2 spell. “Me Ani Kruz!” he growled, releasing a greater skull barrage than its weaker form. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. Enraged, Kamina launched his custom skill. One he copied from the Figment Raider Leader a long time ago. Launching himself into the air, he slid his grip of his wand to the bottom of the staff. At the apex he raised it high above his head, and swung downward with all his might, the added force to the Wavemaster, customized Death bringer, was enough to finish the statue off. However, that was the last of his SP for the time being. He turned fierce eyes towards the remaining two monsters. His HP was in need of attention; His SP was nonexistent…well at this point it had finally started to regenerate, but not high enough to cast even a light spell. He decided the best thing to do would be to retreat for now, but as his legs turned to retreat. He found himself dashing towards the monsters, slashing his wand across their hard bodies He found himself slowly looking around, as his body continued its attack on the monsters perfectly dodging the strongest of their attacks.
“Run away” he cried in his head. His body continued its assault, finally killing one of the monsters.
“Run away…” He said, his temper finally rising at the disobedience of his body.
Wolves don’t run from opponents they can beat… a low growling voice echoed in the back of his head.
Kamina - June 19, 2005 01:39 AM (GMT)
“I must heal myself…” Kamina muttered,
Your life is not in any danger as of yet… The voice said, once again echoing in the back of his consciousness.
The Stone Guardian’s life had been reduced to under half by now, but the damage the Wavemaster had received was starting to become severe. However, Kamina noticed his SP was at 20 again….22….24…
“Then let me finish this!!” Kamina screamed straining every muscle to stop its current attack and raise the now dented wand up into the air. “ME ANI KRUZ!!!!” His body obeyed, and the darkness summoned from his wand was strong enough to finish the monster.
Battle Mode OFF
Kamina fell to his knees and suddenly started looking around. He suddenly realized he was trembling. His weak human frame was exhausted, barely functioning off the systems that were damaged during the fight. He didn’t let that bother him for a little longer. The voice he heard felt familiar to him. But he wasn’t sure what or who it was. Except whoever it was, it felt like it gave him courage to continue on, that even death itself was a mere trifle to deal with.
“Omae wa dare ka?” he said, but there was no answer. With a sigh, he slowly got to his feet and cast La Repth on himself, and continued towards the dungeon entrance.
The entrance was nothing very special. It was a volcano with a massive opening and stairs leading down to the dungeon below. The dungeon itself however was not as fearsome as the field was. Cool stone walls, each having intricate designs, painted in red along the sides. The Roof was once again nonexistent, however, He had a feeling this area had enough rooms to run his patience to zero. He would have used his only Fairy’s Orb; however, it may have been better to wait to use that when he had completely run out of both items and patience. He wandered the halls and rooms, randomly encountering the same monsters from outside, though not in as many numbers. After each battle, he would have to rest and heal himself before continuing on. After repeating this about four times, he managed to find the exit to the second basement floor. This floor was even darker than before, filled with the rotting bodies of soldiers who had passed a long time ago. In the next room there were cells where bodies also lay or sat in varying sizes. It made the Wavemaster wonder, just what kind of races banded together to fight either each other, or to fight Helba’s forces, as the story’s opening foretells of. Or was it the Dragon of Twilight they fought. He also wondered what was the deal with the threat of “Twilight”. That was a time that he had enjoyed a lot in his youth. Running through the trees, in search of his first...
Kamina - June 19, 2005 01:40 AM (GMT)
“These aren’t my memories!” Kamina tried to think again about his childhood. This time he was surrounded by other cubs like himself, a lot of them playing around, pouncing on each other and tugging on each others ears. It was a fun time, learning how to get out of such holds and mastering the holds themselves. The memory brought a feeling of excitement to the Wavemaster, but at the same time, it was odd, since these weren’t his memories. He had a human mother and father. Human siblings, though he taunted that one of them was an alien. His girlfriend was human too, and he went to college and was a normal human However, the memories that came to his mind, were definitely those of a wolf’s.
“Just who are you??” He cried out to the soulless room, his voice echoed off the walls, only to be absorbed by the bones of the fallen. It seemed only the dead could hear him, and even then, they can’t answer his questions. With a frustrated sigh, he decided to continue on. The next room contained a Guardian, and a Fire witch, neither lasted very long in Kamina’s confused rage.
“Why do Guardians have to be so freaking annoying” he whined, replacing his wand on his back and entering into the next corridor. This next area was much like many of the rooms he had passed before except it was greatly extended. It was a stretch from here to the next door. However, it meant one thing to the Wavemaster, The next set of stairs were beyond that door. However, he failed to pay attention to the gate as he continued on, buried deep within his thoughts. Without noticing, He was soon staring at a Wyrm and a Head Hunter.
The Head Hunter was easily dispatched by the magic that Kamina wielded, however, the agile fire monster was more of a challenge, as it had a tendency to knock The Wavemaster off balance before he could cast a spell. With a growl, the Wavemaster switched back to his Rod of the Sea, and released the volley of ice spears towards the attack did hit; however, not all were direct...
”Fine, you wanna dodge something, dodge this! With a fierce growl, The Wavemaster held his wand ready as the wyrm came for another pass. He knew that what he was about to do won’t kill it, but the combination he had intended should. He felt his blood freeze as the spell start to run its course. But this time would be different. He had to time this right, or he would be in a world of pain, and out of SP for the time. The Wyrm closed in, to the point the heat from its body could be felt through his. Suddenly, it was like lightning had run through his body, forcing arm to slam the wand down on the head of the Wyrm. Keeping a firm grip on the Wand he released another Gig Rue Kruz, this time, pinning the monster into the ground.
“If you’re done, I’m continuing on”, he said, pulling the wand out of the carcass. The body became ashen gray, and disappeared. With that he left the room, and headed down the stairs.
Kamina - June 19, 2005 01:46 AM (GMT)
A waste of good meat, if you ask me, his conscious echoed.
“I didn’t ask you,” he muttered. “Wai-a—Just who are you anyway?”
I have always been with you, if it wasn’t for me, you would have been dead long ago. The voice replied. If it weren’t for me, you would be dead long ago… Did you really think you could make something without making all of it?
“Wait, what do you mean?” The Wavemaster paused. “I didn’t even make the hack…If that’s what you mean.”
Well I was attached to your character, The voice said rather annoyed now. So here I am.
“So why didn’t you say anything before-“
Enemies… The wolf in him hissed Kamina could feel the hair on his neck bristle up.
“This is my body; let me take care of them…” The Wavemaster commanded, clutching his dented Adrian Wand. The pale yellow portal in the center of the room he had just entered during his conversation, span peacefully, not triggered by his presence, however, the doors had locked themselves. Meaning there was no escape, until he had defeated what ever it was on the other side of the portal.
“I wonder if on the other side of that portal, is the “dreaded Twilight” everyone’s referring to…” He mused before taking a few cautious steps on the cold stone floor. Within an instant, the portal whirred to life, spinning faster and faster, until the monsters held in were freed, a Stone Tuttle and Goblin Wiz. The goblin decided it was best not to stick around, and used its high agility to hi-tail it to a further side of the room before casting a BiVak Rom attack on Kamina. The Wave master found him immobile, and vulnerable to the fire attack His life points suffered due to the attack, but not by much, since his earth armor took most the damage. However, the female (or cross-dressing) creature did not stop moving. On top of that, the Stone Tuttle started to move, making attempts to step on the Wavemaster proved to be too hard for the much larger creature. The Tuttle had no elemental weakness that he could counter, so it would be hard to just hit it with something and it would die. The best plan now would be to play the two against each other. However, he didn’t have a way of casting Miu Lei. The only way as of right now would be to dispatch of the worm first. The Wiz didn’t have any elemental weaknesses, so he would have to attack it with all he had, and fast.
”This should do the trick” The Wavemaster pulled out a speed charm, and activated it. Almost instantly the effects of Ap Do took effect. The monster’s moves were moving much slower to his eyes than they originally were moving. He tried out his new speed, easily catching up to the Goblin. Effortlessly, his wand glided through the air, the wind whistling through the openings of the bit of the wand, and connecting with the goblin, the added speed created an additional force, hitting the monster hard and sending it flying towards the nearest wall. But Kamina wasn’t done there. His eyes were already a deep violet. His dark aura built up around him, the sign of this Wavemaster’s strong dark attack.
“MeAni Kruz!” he cried, causing a barrage of skulls to converge on the doomed monster. There wasn’t much left of it when the attack was done. The stone Tuttle made sure that it wasn’t forgotten, by slamming the Wavemaster into the very same wall the Goblin died on. The pain shot from his back
And spread throughout the rest of his body, like a ripple of fire and electricity rolling through his body from the center of his spine. He felt the air leave his lungs, a normally fun feeling, became horribly frightening. He scrambled to his feet, to find himself flattened under the massive foot of the Tuttle. This was it; he was going to die here and now. But despite his futility, he found his body clawing and struggling to get to its feet. He realized something, at that moment, if he could cast a tornado spell, he could hurt it long enough to release some of the pressure on his body and-
krruuuchi
Crack was not a good sound…No more time to think about it,
“Rai Rom!” He gasped; the lightning tornado was enough to do the trick. The giant reeled back, giving Kamina enough time to roll out the way, but first, he placed his wand, blunt end up, on the ground, in-between the cracks made by the lightning. He was going to miss that wand….
The Stone Tuttle, fell back down, its soft underbelly, pierced by his wand. Kamina decided it may still be possible if he made some kind of physical contact with the wand. In a curious attempt, the wolf jumped onto the back of his enemy. Though it was flailing wildly, he somehow managed to find a grip long enough to call the next spell. Another Me Ani Kruz was called, this time, the barrage was concentrated on the wound in another wild display of pain, and Kamina was thrown off just before the monster died. He managed to roll back onto his hands and feet, ready to pounce if need be.
Now you know how to use these wolf instincts better… The voice echoed.
“Yea, but I can do without the memories.” He muttered, dusting himself off, and recovering what was left of his Adrian Wand. “I guess I’m no good as a dark Wavemaster. “He sighed. “I can barely keep my dark wands out of danger.”
Let’s just get the treasure already…if you’re lucky, you may not have to worry about [wands anymore.
“What the hell?” Kamina mused, “The voice in my head is trying to console me?” I must really be losing it.
If I had my own body, I would have bitten you for that… The voice growled. Kamina just laughed and continued along the floor. After a few more mix ups and two more fights, Kamina found himself inside a room with a statue of a creature with a spherical body. The body was floating in the air, probably suspended by the pale yellow ring that rotated around the base of the statue. In front of the altar, was a treasure chest...? Kamina quickly took up the contents and made his way out, laughing evilly all the way.
I hope this does it. He said as he saw the opening. He leapt out, expecting cool, fresh air. To be welcomed by sweltering hot air, and lava.
“DAH!!!” He cried, gating out, before landing on the steaming ground below.
He didn’t have much time to check his treasure or get other items. Time was running out. He only hoped that the ship hadn’t set sail without him.
