Title: Board Updates
Description: Invisionfree fixes
Merin Sun - July 30, 2003 05:59 AM (GMT)
Okay, some of you may have tried to get to the board recently and were redirected to a page saying there was a database update and that the board will be down for an hour or some other amount of time.
What that means is Invisionfree is WORKING to keep us error message free. So, hopefully...we will be without these problems and we can post a message without fear of losing it outside of our stupidity ;).
Anyway...thought I'd spread the news around :D

:hmm2: So will I finally not have to hit Refresh a few times each time I click on a page? :stab:
Merin Sun - July 31, 2003 04:03 PM (GMT)
That's the hope hun :)
It seems to be working, since I don't get the error message as much :D

Still???
huh!!!
I haven't gotten one in a couple of days...hmmm...
give it some time. They have been doing error fixings every night for the past couple of days...perhaps they'll get to what is causing your errors, Oorla...

I hate these boards. THey are crap. Especially when broused via dial-up. >: >: >: >: >: >:
Vallah - August 4, 2003 09:23 PM (GMT)
Oorla, should we tell them about our idea?

Vallah - August 5, 2003 01:46 AM (GMT)
i still get them, and its not pleasent
ixplodestuff8 - August 5, 2003 02:24 AM (GMT)
OOO I just got one of those :s
Merin Sun - August 5, 2003 02:44 AM (GMT)
That's very odd!!!
Mine have completely stopped!!!
Alright...everyone that is getting them frequently <like almost everytime they press a button) say Aye and state whether you are dial-up or DSL.
Oorla - August 5, 2003 04:37 AM (GMT)
Gets Errors: Yes. A Lot.
Surfs With: Dial Up.

I've gotten it twice since I joined :s (cable)
KaneDragon - August 5, 2003 01:37 PM (GMT)
:cute:
I use dial-up. And Interet Explorer.
When I first joined (and for some time afterwards) I was getting the error page literally every single time I tried to go to a page on this board. Hitting refresh always solved the problem (although I sometimes had to hit it several times).
I haven't gotten any error messages in a while now (except for once, yesterday).
Merin Sun - August 5, 2003 06:03 PM (GMT)
Okay...hmmm...so far it seems that the errors really are a dial-up or cable modem problem...
About how often do you guys get the error message???
Penfold the Small - August 5, 2003 06:19 PM (GMT)
I use dial up, I used to get a lot of errors, but there are very few.
Also this board is no slower than any other, and it is a lot faster than ezboard (ezboard is the bigest pile of crap ever) :D
ixplodestuff8 - August 5, 2003 06:45 PM (GMT)
Making a new topic is really hard for me, the window that I put text into doesn't load, only the top two input lines show, and to make the rest show I have to hit refresh then stop before it's done refreshing :ack:
(and this porbably doesn't belong here, but I don't feel like making a new topic :P )
kundor - August 5, 2003 08:53 PM (GMT)
Connection speed shouldn't really matter to the errors, since they're a server-side problem, though it's possible that a database connection is being opened and closes before the page loads on dial-up, or something crazy like that.
What browser do you use, tnt? you probably need to switch to firebird :P
ixplodestuff8 - August 5, 2003 08:59 PM (GMT)
MY browser IS firebird :P
edit: arg same probelm with anyting exept fast reply, (like this edit :ack: ) anywho i tested it on IE and the probelm is worse so i doubt it's a browser problem.
for some reason the word problem tranformed into macho :scared: .
Merin Sun - August 8, 2003 05:54 PM (GMT)
that's odd...problem should come out problem...are you sure you typed "problem" and not something else???
:mischief:
KaneDragon - August 9, 2003 10:11 PM (GMT)
I'm sorry you don't like invisionfree, Oorla. :(
I think it's much better than ezboard! :D
