Are there any other DDR fans here at the board?
:ohwell: I'm not exactly a DDR fanatic, just a newbie. I thought I was finally getting the hang of it (maybe around the 4-foot songs), but my arcade had the nerve to actually replace it with this bootleg "Step Step Superior" game. I'll refrain from verbally abusing that trash for right now. *cough cough* So anyway... Discuss!
For now... We DANCE!

I've never gotten into DDR...at all....but I do go to a geek university, so there have been DDR parties. People getting together in lobbies to take turns dancing and the others just watch. :hmm:
Now, Death Death Revolution, there's a good game!

If I'm going to spend a quarter on an arcade game it better have lots of blood and violence. and I'd better be good enough at it not to have to put another quater (or dime) for a long time. since neither of these things are true of Dance Dance Revolution, I don't spend my quarters on it :hmm

Well, it is good exercise. :ohwell: There is a good selection of music at a variety of difficulty with several levels of accomplishment. I like games that have a lot of different goals to accomplish and perfect, and DDR matches that (as does Perfect Dark, but lets not get into that). Oh, and the beginning songs are such that even I can beat them with relative ease. With much practice, I could move to far greater heights.
But really, I just think it's fun.

I went to the mall yesterday, and it seems the Step Step Superior machine is out of order... :mischief: :mwaha:
 And DDR 7th Mix is coming soon! :glee:

My mom wants to get one for herself so she can lose weight.

Your mom wants to buy the arcade machine?

actually there's a way to play on your home system with just a little pad you set on the floor and dance around on without shoes. I've seen it done. it makes you look like a baffoon :yeah:

Yeah, my friend has the PS2 version and two soft pads.
Woo, hoo! 4-5 foot. Go Afronova! B)

Download DWI (Dance With Intensity), then search for downloads of the "Tournamix" if they're still up. Set the Game to Autoplay (unless you have an actual pad and adapter) and pretend to dance! Good practice. Well, sorta.

Or better yet, buy a Playstation dance pad and an adapter for the PC. Only about $30 total. Plus, there are tons of dance files available on the net--I have almost 200.

Ah, the good old days... The DDR machine did return and replace SSS, and then the entire arcade left... And last time I checked, I was on 6-7 foot standard... But I very rarely play the game... or the emulator.
And I'm pinning this topic, because I care. :yeah:
