Title: Where I went today

:D

I have Wander Lust. IE...I *LOVE* to travel. So today I said to myself "Self, it's time you went and did something neato with yoru car"

So I hopped into my car and filled up the gas tank and just took the highway outside of my house. I figured that since I knew the road would take me into Indiana it would give me a chance to do some exploring while still being able to find my way back.

This particular highway goes from Hamilton to Richmond...............and then to Chicago.

No, I did not actually end up in Chicago  but I did get as far as Fort Wayne. And so that people can appreciate this distance...um...here:

:D

I drove all those hours to Fort Wayne (I discovered about a thousand Dairy Queens along the way :scared:) and then back tracked and found a wonderful Amish community :yeah: I decided..."Hey...I came all this way...I need to at least look at something kewl". So I stopped by and had a look around. Unfortunately most things were closed by this time :(. So I quickly jumped into the gift shop and poked around and then had the most DELICIOUS dinner I have ever had...mmm...it was ham and potatoes and homemade bread...<drools>

Anyway...I call my Mom from a quaint lil phone booth they had set up in some back lot and got the phone equivalent to a howler. Apparentally I am not to travel over state lines without at least informing her :mischief:

But she forgave me once I came home with a piece of authentic Amish crockery :D

It was a lot of fun and I completely enjoyed the experience. Next...I conquer Kentucky :mwaha:

See...you should have bought her a bean crock and all would have been well :P

I get to make the trip again with my family this weekend so that we can all enjoy the Amish experience

How was Boston??? Did RMS yell at you??? Did you even SEE RMS??? Did you have your clam chowda???

Or did you sit in front of a computer in the hotel room and not even look out the window??? :mischief:

Actually, I too went out of state this weekend without informing my mother. But in my case, I went to Salt Lake City, and my mom still doesn't know about it.

WTH?!? I definitely wrote a long reply to this thred, and now it's gone

i talked about how wonderful boston is, and how wonderful rms is, and how i talked to him lots, and how i had clam chowder in the one fancy meal i allowed myself, and i read a whole book in the boston public library, and i saw surprisingly cool stuff in the Christian Science Mother Church (actually, next door in the Mary Baker Eddy Library.), and MIT rocks, and I shoulda been there, and I want to move to Boston.

and i hoped you have fun with the amish. :\

Wow, your all so adventurous!!! Maybe I should make it down to Seattle sometime this summer. My Mom wouldn't care much if I told her or not, hmm, not sure if that's a good thing or not.
