My assumption would be that the "her" in question is Gabrijan's toothless female follower and that "him" is Gabrijan. Phillanon (or however it's spelled) is the one saying it, because she wishes to break the mental link between Gabrijan and said toothless female follower.

gpf is getting better, it has yoshi, yoshi == better than trudy storylines.
also sluggy is getting better, it has riff, riff == better than wacked out sam storylines. not that sam storylines are bad. it's the wacked out part.
