Those pictures are STUNNING, and they are nearly TWENTY years old...

Most people on this board were not born when this came to the US.

I used to love Robotech.

TOYI1SOCCER - October 7, 2004 07:42 PM (GMT)
is it worth to buy?

EyeThumper - October 7, 2004 07:46 PM (GMT)
In a word. YES! I am intending on buying a set.

Robotech is huge, and there are several different versions of sets. I don't know what the current best set is.

People's opinions differ because of the following:
  • Different sets are different (so opinions differ)
  • Some cost more (price is no big deal to me)
  • Some are not re-mastered (some people like it completely untouched, others like better quality)
  • Some are re-mastered and edited; this changes the story and some don't like this (LIKE ME). I want the story as close to what it was when it first came out.

With netflix, its basically a huge collection for $22 per month. It's just like owning stuff because you can rent anything at any time. And even if you've seen it 20 times, you don't have to pay again to rent it.

I used to love Robotech.

If you watch the whole thing again, you will love it once more.

TOYI1SOCCER - October 7, 2004 07:50 PM (GMT)
in that case I will be looking for the 1st original and beginning one because that is the one I saw.

EyeThumper - October 7, 2004 08:01 PM (GMT)
I just ordered whatever Netflix had, and so far I love it:

However, when it goes to commercial, it shows you the little anime saying: "We'll be back to Robotech" or something like that.

Then it immediatly shows: "Back to robotech" or something like that.

Some people don't like this, but I do, because this little anime changes. It means to me that they are trying to preserve everything.

Also, the leave in the beginning, and ending sequence with the credits on every one. This is annoying if watching it all the way through, but hey, I wanted it as pure as possible. So I just FF through that part.

I'd rather have to FF through stuff, than miss something.
