We're all anxiously awaiting your review Toyi!
and welcome back Inuyasha!
I am pretty sure you can read the manga in Shonen Jump, if the anime doesn't work out. I just saw an advert for it the other day ;)
TOYI1SOCCER - June 11, 2004 11:48 AM (GMT)
^ eh eh Crystal, my friend and i mean my other friend (the one who gave me the eps 1 -12) just thought about everything, ' cause I didn't have that DIVX program but he included it in my package, so I have seen up to the eps 4 by now.
I tell you! it makes me laugh, is a very hilarious cartoon.. I recomend it starting for that area (I haven't seen all the eps, but is hilariuos and also makes me gigles all the time)
there is this one scene that Naruto is in a class with this ninja and naruto tries to attack him but while he was running towards the ninja... the ninja goes and put his hand on his pocket and pulls a (love manual) ... so you know like telling Naruto was no match for him, was very funny  that was epd 4.
My friend downloaded it, I think is not hard to obtain on the internet (he has up to epd 50)
TOYI1SOCCER - June 16, 2004 03:42 PM (GMT)

Pilaf - July 5, 2005 04:13 PM (GMT)
I kinda don't like it. It's ovverated and people think they're cool because they watch it in japanese, when it's the most popular show not in America.
TOYI1SOCCER - July 5, 2005 04:46 PM (GMT)
I don't know if is overrated and honestly I don't even care about that, what I care about is that I saw it and appeals to my taste of anime...
is very enigmatic and is one of my favorite themes...
I love the fight scenes and the conversations.
oh and I don't think I am cool because I watch it in japanese, I watch it like that because has not been translated and I hope they never do, cause US ruin stuff I tell you.. they say Tiger and they translate kitty.
is very cool. B)

This is another Naruto Avatar.

His name is
Lee-kun if you notice, I am assuming this character was created to resemble Bruce Lee (child) he does martial arts and his dream is to prove that a person can be a great ninja based on the physical ability and not on the full development of his/her Chakra or Sharingan eye. :D

^ don't worry is just a webcomic's author opinion, lol Oply is also a webcomic author .. so. I wouldn't give importance to it :D
Coming back to subject, I wondering how America version is going to handle the amount of Japanese exotic wording (like the name of technincs and stuff like that) like the charingan eye or else lol
Well if they mess it up I still have the confortable and reliable japanese version with subtitles. :P
here some nice outline from Naruto's anime!
| QUOTE |
Naruto Season 1 The Naruto series is based on the manga of the same name and centres on a young ninja in training that goes by the name (you guessed it) Naruto. Now Naruto is not just any ordinary ninja, he has an evil power sealed inside his stomach that makes all the residents in his village distrust him. The main drive behind the series is for Naruto to train up to become a more powerful ninja. In this quest, and like all ninja's before him, he has to form a three person team and complete challenges. The majority of the first series explores the ninja's quest to become stronger and gain recognition from his villagers.
As mentioned earlier, Naruto is part of a team of other rookie ninjas. They are; Sasuke - A quite young man and the most proficient rookie ninja from the village. Naruto views Sasuke as his greatest rival both in terms of talent and for the affection of... Sakura - Is the female of the group and is the smartest ninja in her year. What she lacks in talent she makes up in her knowledge of the art of the ninja. She is in love with Sasuke. These three pupils are under the watchful eye of Kakashi, one of the most powerful ninjas in their village.
These four form the foundation for the series and are the main characters that the audience gets to watch grow. However there are a whole host of other ninjas that pop up throughout the series and it is likely that they will take more prominent positions in later seasons and episodes. The four main characters however provide an interesting dynamic to the programme with each character revealing more and more about their histories as the series progresses. Like wise their relationships continually change. It is also nice to see a titular character that is not fighting for revenge, but rather fighting for acceptance. That said there are the inevitable revenge subplots thrown in for good measure too.
The first season of Naruto is merely setting the stage for subsequent episodes. The nature of the ninja art is quite complex in areas so a large portion of the first series relies on exploring these areas in more detail. For example a couple of episodes focus on using the power that ninjas rely on (known as chakra) and the methods by which ninjas learn to control this power. Whilst these episodes are not the most interesting they are necessary in order to explain and understand the impressive battles. The battles in Naruto on the whole are well constructed and genuinely imaginative. They also provide an opportunity for the three rookies to put their lessons to practical use. Like many anime series though, the battles are often long drawn out affairs with some of them lasting four or five episodes before being resolved. The reason for these protracted fight sequences is largely due to the series rather annoying insistence on providing flashbacks to earlier episodes as a means to explain what has, or is about to occur. Now if you are to watch the episodes on a weekly basis this recapping may actually be quite useful, however, if like me you watch the series in a couple of sittings, the repetitive nature of the storytelling can become tiresome. There is so much emphasis on flashbacks that each episode (lasting around 25 minutes) only has about 15-20 minutes worth of new content. This will not necessarily effect other peoples' enjoyment of the series, but I am becoming some what bored of anime series relying on this method of story telling.
Naruto does have a good balance of action and comedy (accompanied by a sprinkling of melodrama in all the right places). In fact if it wasn't for the slow pace and overuse of flashbacks then Naruto would be an exceptional series. Very few series can capture the three elements of comedy, action and drama as convincingly as Naruto does. This is accomplished due to the well rounded and interesting characters. Even the main antagonists show humanity and the audience is able to find out about their histories and the reasons they are in their current positions. There is a strong emphasis on history throughout the series. Every character has an interesting back story that provides the viewer with a greater understanding of the world that Naruto lives in. Likewise the history of the ninja in general is also expressed to further provide the audience with a fully functioning world to become immersed in.
The animation throughout the series is of a reasonably high standard, but the animation noticeably improves as the series continues as the animation becomes more fluid and some nice 3D effects are implemented in the last couple of episodes. The colours are always vibrant and Naruto has a fairly unique art style at times.
The music is infectious and I can guarantee that you will be humming the theme tune after the first couple of episodes. The music during the episodes is also catchy with a reoccurring percussion piece throughout the series. The sound effects and voice acting for the most part is spot on and further reinforces the overall quality of the series.
Naruto is a very good series. Its deep and well rounded characters provide an interesting focal point whilst the concepts behind the ninja art and the impressive balance between drama, comedy and action make this potentially one of the great animes. The over reliance on flashbacks and slow nature to the storytelling is a hindrance though, and whilst it does not ruin the series it does stop it from becoming a classic. I look forward to getting my hands on season 2. |
I took this review from a website called
Animeboredom.co.uk
This is a complete review from somebody that is not lazy & you can tell by reading that the reviewer has watched some good amount of episodes. The review does list the goods and bads of it. This is a review, not just a broad comment.

Who knows maybe the american version might be cool. Well I'm not forcing you to like, I'm just saying my opinion abut it. Don't worry, the DVD's will be un-cut, you can see them in japanese and put subtitles. I'm just sayin' I'm not offending you.
TOYI1SOCCER - August 30, 2005 03:46 AM (GMT)
oh don't worry I have the version with japanese subtitles, I don't care as longest they keep the main language and Japanese therms. Otherwise will be boring!
I will just check to see how it goes, if this turns interesting I will watch the CN version but otherwise I will just stick with the japanese version lol

eh eh this is
Hinata Hyuga ( the girl with the hooded jacket)
She is very quiet & shy girl in the show, She is Fighting with
Neji Hyuga in the Ninja rank battles, were he is extremely jealouse because they both belong to the same family clan but she is higher class.
She is in love with Naruto, Naruto doesn't know it but admires her a lot, specially after this battle when she was almost killed by Neji and sent out of the battle directly to the hospital in serous condition.

WAH!?! Is that true? she likes naruto!?! guess that explains why she acts wierd we she's around him.
TOYI1SOCCER - August 31, 2005 10:45 PM (GMT)

lol yeah, she is very shy just look at the ways her eyes turn...(Same with Neji's eyes), acording to the story they belong to the same family clan where ancestors pass on their techniques, Neji since is not high class like her wants to let everybody know that his class can do better in the same technique, so basically they swell their eyes like that to discover or see through their skin their "Inside flowing chakra" and their hits are intended to hurt internally, which "according to the story" will cause more damage than superficial wounds.
