I realize that this message board may be a bit confusing for people new to using it. I will update this post in the future to give help, tips, and rules for using this board.

Here's a basic view of the PM (Personal/Private Messanger)

The Personal/Private Messanger is the easiest way of contacting another member of the message board. It works like your email, only you don't get an email address or anything. ( If your looking for a free email addy, I could add one here :) ).

How to Update Your Personal Profile

Toward the top right of the message board page, it should say My Controls. Click on My Controls and then scroll down to where it says Edit Profile Info on the left of the page. You do NOT have to fill out everything. Just fill out the sections you'd like to and then click the Amend My Profile button.

Your profile can contain as little or as much information about yourself as you would like. I suggest putting your Orbit name in your profile in the Your Interests section, so that people can easily trade with you or visit your cZone to see what cToons you have.

To view someone else's profile, just click on their name whenever they post somewhere.

How to Add a Signature to Your Messages
Toward the top right of the message board page, it should say My Controls. Click on My Controls and then scroll down to where it says Edit Signature on the left of the page. You can put anything you want in your signature. Your orbit name, email address, website url, or just a nifty little message to describe your likes or personality.

Your signature will be featured at the end of every message you post. You don't have to have one, but its a nice thing to know you have the option to use. Enjoy.

How to Add an Avatar

An avatar is the picture that is seen under your name in all of your posts. It's a neat little feature that lets you indirectly tell people what your likes are.

Toward the top right of the message board page, it should say My Controls. Click on My Controls and then scroll down to where it says Edit Avatar Settings on the left of the page.

You can select an avatar from the pre-set gallery. Choose one of the options (Base Gallery, Lord of the Rings, Sci-Fi, or Smiley Gallery) and click Go. Click on the little selector button for the picture you want and then click Use Selected Avatar. If you don't see anything you like you can click Cancel.

Once you do this, don't forget to Click the Update Avatar button!

You can use your avatars from your computer or other websites that host avatars (please don't hotlink if they say not to).

To use one from another website, paste the link to the picture in the spot that says "enter URL..."

To use one from your computer, you can upload it by clicking Browse and finding the file on your computer.

Once again, don't forget to Click the Update Avatar button when you finish.

I'm going to be providing avatars for you guys to use as well. That information will be posted in a separate thread.

Regarding Spoilers

If you read a book or watch a show, and there are moments that totally change everything around. The surprises, the plot twists, totally unexpected events, endings, a character dies, etc. In a message board, when someone wants to talk about these things, they'll ruin or "spoil" it for everyone else who hasn't read the book/seen the show/or whatever. To avoid "spoiling" the story for those who are still going to read the book/etc, it is a courtesy to put the "spoiler" message you want to write in unreadable (white on this board) text, so it can't be read. The only way to read it, would be to highlight the text with your mouse. That way, only people who want to read it, will read it. Here is an example of a DBZ style spoiler (though this is old news everyone already knows).

To do this, first highlight the text. Choose a color from the pull down menu. Then, erase the color's name and put white instead. It should look like this:

[ COLOR = white ]Trunks' Parents are Vegeta and Bulma. [ / COLOR ]

only without the spaces. Also, please don't forget to tell people there are spoilers in your message. ;)

How do you cange that little sentence under your avatar?

After your post count rises it changes. When you are upgraded to premium membership you are able to create your own custom title.

Says who?

Taz has it all wrong. once you have 2,001 posts you can change it. being a premie changes NOTHING.
