| Good Day, We are very happy that you joined, but it seems a large majority of you do not understand all the rules and courtesies of message boards. I do not think any of you are intentionally breaking rules, but it is annoying that I have to edit, archive, and correct tons of post in the past couple of weeks. Here are the main areas which rules are being broken: 1. Double Posting: A double (triple, quadruple) post is when you post someting, then right away post somethine else. Please look at any of your posts. There is a button that says EDIT at the top. If you press that, you can edit your previous post. This is what you should be doing. 2. Posting in the wrong forum: Please pay attention to where you are posting. I have had to move, or delete at least 25 different topics over the past few days. If you are seeking a particular item, that goes in WANT LISTS, if you are look to sell an item, that goes in TRADES/SELLING, auctions go in AUCTIONS. If you are not sure where something goes, please PM a mod. We have become so frustrated with this that at this point, if anything is put in the wrong place, I am just archiving the threads. 3. Off topic posts/conversation: While some off topic posting goes on, please limit it. If the post is about Zebras and you get a little side tracked on horses, that is usually ok, if the post is about Zebras, and then you go on this tirade about How many orbit points you have that is way off topic. Conversations: Please do not use this message board to hold a conversation. Those can be done over PM's or IM services. 4. Flooding: this is when you post a topic over and over again. Please do not do this. You are allowed to occasionally bump your old topics. 5. Posting link: Please do not post thing like "Hey bid on my auction, it is a Liberty Belle Gtoon, and my name is Ultra Tiger Foley" Or "Trade with me, I am the the Julie Gohan Pitt czone". You will not get anyone where you want them to go. Post links. Example: I am actioning a Wolverine Ctoon. To get there all I need to do is post like this: Brawling Wolverine http://cartoonorbit.cartoonnetwork.com/ser...lug=auctionzone To get this all I did was copy the web addreess from the top of the auction. Now I want you to go to my czone, Ultra Tiger Foley. http://cartoonorbit.cartoonnetwork.com/ser...?owner=10885191 How I got this was by hitting the visit czone's button on orbit, type Ultra Tiger Foley into the box, and copying the web address like I did for my auction. 6. Scams: Please do not post anything about learning about scams, how to scam, point cyclers, etc. It is fine if you want to learn about scamming for your own protection, but do not post asking how to do it, or god forbid attempt to post a scam here. 7. Advertising: It is illegal to advertise sites unless they have to do with the current conversation. If you have a personal site, that you are proud of, you may put a link in your sig. Be warned, mods check these links to make sure the site has appropraite content. Now for the older members. PLEASE HAVE PATIENCE WITH THE NEW MEMBERS. It is the opinion of the staff here that none of them are intentionally breaking rules and just trying to fit in. Please do not make smart alec comments, and leave discipline to the mods. If you see something one of us has not noticed send us a PM. Just remember, you were once the new guy, and not everyone is an accomplished writer. And again, we are a welcoming board, we do not limit our membership, and we are happy to have all new members With this being said, you may post questions or comments below. A few things first. No complaints about Noobs. No reporting rules violations, and no conversations. |

Ok, I have a legitimate question. You say that we are allowed to bump old topics if needed, and I understand that. What I am asking, is if we have a new topic, but no one has responded, and we really need a response, would that be an ok time to bump it? I know that I have used this in the last couple of days, and I would just like to know for future reference, so that I don't get int rouble with anyone. Thanks for the answer! :D |

Yes, within reason. Example, you make a topic and bump it 10 minutes later, no, a couple hours later fine. You also have another option . . . mods can bump threads without leaving a post, you could always ask a mod to do it. |
