Title: NeverDream
Description: A New Game Project
Neken - March 11, 2006 07:44 PM (GMT)
With the use of my game engine nIrium that uses directx 9.0b (summer 2003 version), me and
kaietnap are joining forces to create a new game, called NeverDream. Translated from a
primitive game maker version, the game will unveil the story of our hero matrix man before
the game with the same name.
What i'm showing you here is a demo of our engine. The purpose : i want you to test it, see
if it runs smoothly of your machines, if there's any bugs, etc.
To test it perfectly ... go into fullscreen mode, unlock the fps (F2), and retrive the fps.
Post your fps here, with your system configuration.

I got a solid 37,
it looks cool Neken ;) and I like the pixel precise collision checking.
ih8censorship - March 12, 2006 07:39 PM (GMT)
i got about 32-37 fps.... ive got a gig or so of ram and 1.7 GHz and windows xp

Unlock the fps guys .. with F2 ... it's written in my post ...
netman - March 12, 2006 08:33 PM (GMT)
ok my FPS is around the 170-190 now ^_^ .
Neken - March 12, 2006 08:34 PM (GMT)
you should all read the controls carefully .. there are some nice things ....
ih8censorship - March 12, 2006 09:08 PM (GMT)
pressing f2 didnt do anything different for me.... the only way i could get a higher framerate was pressing f1 to get into the level editor and then pressing f2 to unlock it... then i got like 240fps.. but in the regular game it hangs around 37fps even if i press f2
Neken - March 12, 2006 09:19 PM (GMT)
it just mean you comp can't do higher than 37fps :P

Just so you know, get a better mirror. Both didnt' work for me in Firefox, and only the freewebs link worked in IE. Anyway, onto the program itself. I get 225 FPS. My specs are:
Intel Pentium 4 2.80ghz with Hyper Threading
512 MB ram
ATI Radeon 9700 Mobility (128MB)
Windows XP SP2
Also, AquaFox, I thought you had a 3.2ghz processor and other nice goodies. How did you only get 58 fps?
Consumed - March 12, 2006 10:04 PM (GMT)
170-172.
Pentium III 735MHz, 768MB RAM, nVidia GeForce FX 5500 256MB, and Windows XP SP2.

Firefox seems to have some troubles with these servers ... drag'n'drop the link into the address bar ... it should work.

I just wonder why everything is so grainy?

Noise effect (ala silent hill) ... we'll make it better later ... it's just for testing it ...

How did you get that much in the game ?
i got approx. the same stats .. and i got only 80 ...
(P4 3.02ghz HT, ATI Mobility Radeon 9000, 512mb ram)
what are your drivers ?
Viper - March 13, 2006 05:57 PM (GMT)
I use the Radeon Omega v2.6.87 Drivers. Newest are v3.1 or something.
Neken - March 13, 2006 06:02 PM (GMT)
k thanks .. did you notice a great performance improvment when you installed them ?
Viper - March 13, 2006 06:13 PM (GMT)
Last time I updated my drivers to a new version (my current) I noticed quite a bit in CS:S. I can not 100% surely say this was the cause, but I did notice it.
Neken - March 13, 2006 06:21 PM (GMT)
there's a huge difference between 80 and 160 you know ... i don't know what else could it be ...
i'm good at tweaking things to optimise my comps ...

We didn't hosted the original game maker file ... why do ask this ?
It's approx. the same thing (except i use a mapper ... the original gm one uses bitmaps)(and i cant get more than 32 fps in the game maker :P)
