after reading www.about.com's c++ tutorial i knew enough c++ to code some basic programs. i then was referred to a website with some sdl tutorials (http://lazyfooproductions.com/) and learned how to code a little more advanced programs. i'm looking for a tutorial specifically to discuss how you go about coding games. like the necessary events you need, how you should store sprites and sounds, et cetera. thank you for your time.

Sprites and sounds depend on you dude, it's your game. Although I never suggest one man team for games. If you are I suggest planning everything down on paper or notepad :P. "I have everything in my head" NEVER WORKS! You should learn gaming algorithms too like collision detection, path finding and etcetra ;).
