I recently got a computer someone threw away. It is an IBM Netvista, pentium 3 with 126mb ram. I tried installing debian on it, and after the pain of getting Xwindows to work, I then reboot and it hangs at "LI". I assumed it was probally something I had done, and then did a clean install of debian again and the same thing happens after I reboot. I booted knoppix and all the data seemed to be there, I just can't get it to boot after the initial install.
Annyone know why Lilo is hanging?
mabey try using a different kernel. Also, try runing a sum check on the ISO image you downloaded
im not sure what the problem was, i fixed it by doing the 'make system bootable' step again. it was probally a bug in the install system (the cd image wasn't corrupted).
