Title: The 1960's
Description: Who else misses the music of the 1960s?

AgentGill - September 28, 2003 04:56 AM (GMT)
Who loves the 1960's as much as I do?

Think psychedelic rock . .. the Stones . . . The Beatles . . . and the Doors who shaped the music of the era.

Remember the Swingers?!?!?

I was born in 1981 so I'm not an aging hipster . . . maybe I thrived in the late 1960s/1970s in a past life or something.

Do you miss Jimi Hendrix - oh yeah played the blues like no one else . . .

Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Woodstock . . . to Early Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett.

K. Ackles - September 28, 2003 09:22 AM (GMT)
JIMI! *sob*

I love Beatles! "And then a man appeared on a flaming pie and said, 'Let there be beatles with an 'A'.' And so there was."

I like all that stuff! All of it!

SEX PISTOLS! Punk music was born in that era!

marco - September 28, 2003 12:17 PM (GMT)
stones especially i think, i dunno much bout 60 music though. but i listen to all kind of oldies so well i have to admit i dont know which bands are 1960 or not

uhm what about this ones lol the eagles, the who, the animals

K. Ackles - October 6, 2003 11:04 AM (GMT)
The Who! The kinks! I like their stuff as well! I love all that. The beach boys. They were/are great, but my fav still has to be the beatles! I have all their albums!

AgentGill - October 6, 2003 08:38 PM (GMT)
The doors . ..

The Who . . .

ohhhh so many to name . . .

as you said the Beatles . ..

Actually although Led Zepplin is really a '70s band .. . they did form in 1968 .. . but they reached there peak in about 1971 or so . . .

Jimi Hendrix . . .

Janis Joplin . ..

I love the '70s just as much or even more so .. . heavy metal did start in the 1970's after all and some great heavy rockers/rock bands started in the 1970s like AC/DC . .. and KISS I believe. I know that AC/DC did form in 1973 and released their first studio album in Australia titled "High Voltage" in 1974.

K. Ackles - October 7, 2003 09:34 AM (GMT)
All that seems about right

Okay, your favourite song from this era? I love the heavy metal stuff of the 70s/80s, but now we're back in the 60s, so what's ur fav song?

marco - October 7, 2003 08:25 PM (GMT)
Where do i place alice cooper? in this thread or the other one :reallyexcited:

K. Ackles - October 9, 2003 12:01 PM (GMT)
I would put him in the 'Old School' category, because, although he is still going (i love his stuff by the way) it fits more in that category.

marco - October 9, 2003 05:32 PM (GMT)
i am switchin from topic to topic and i am posting everything in the wrong thread :(

K. Ackles - October 10, 2003 11:07 AM (GMT)
 I do that all the time! We forgive you! :P

marco - October 10, 2003 01:24 PM (GMT)
okay i am trying again what about the eagles?

AgentGill - October 10, 2003 06:55 PM (GMT)
I don't know much about the Eagles personally . . .

I have several favourite songs from the 1960's . . . I'll just name one to get started,
"Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones . . . lol . .. they formed in like 1962 and have been playing for just over four decades . . .

I'm open to drink anything that tastes good . . . lol

In one of my RPGs I (IC) drink tequila in my free time, lol . .. but NOT in Alias Survivor .. . it is on one of my Star Trek RPGs.

I can think of another Tequila based song but it dates to the 1990's ... Sammy Hagar's "Mass Tequila"
