Title: The Kitchens
James.Potter - April 4, 2009 12:22 AM (GMT)
On the right-hand side of the Marble Staircase sits a door. This door opens up to a corridor that leads to the basements. Along the corridor wall, just before the Hufflepuff Common Room, lies a large portrait of a bowl of fruit. Apples, grapes, bananas, pears, peaches; all sorts of fruit. However, when the painted pear is tickled, the portrait opens up to the Hogwarts Kitchens; home to the magnificent House-Elves. Here, they work vigorously to prepare the daily meals for the staff and students of Hogwarts.

Shortly after midnight Ringo strolled into the kitchen hoping to find it empty. He looked around and seeing no one he started on a chicken leg sitting in his favorite spot on top of the refrigerator

Jacob strolled into the Kitchens through the well known portrait of a bowl of fruit. Once again he had missed tea and now hunger pangs nagged at him, begging him to eat. On arrival he was immediately surrounded by a group of house elves that he had got to know through his previous visits and they already had an assortment of his favourite foods in his hand. He wasn’t sure what he wanted to eat that night so just greeted the elves with a cheery ‘hello’.
As usual he did a quick glance around the kitchen and spotted that he was not the only one there. He nodded a greeting, being sure that he had seen the other around some times.

Nemah tripped into the room. Her hands rushed tentatively to her black dress where she dusted it off. "When will those boys learn i'm not a play toy!" Escaped her lips in hot tones. Light shades of peach glossed over her face, masking fiery. Her heart pumped frantically within her chest. She bite her lip, drawing blood. A finger flicked away the evidence impulsively. Her head raised slowly, enquiring who may be watching her distasteful show. Both faces seemed familiar. One traced back to a sunny day by the lake, the other from this very room. Nemah curled her leg up flicking the shoe from her foot. The heel was beyond repair in muggle standards, but this was a school for wizards and witches with wands.
Pete Best - April 5, 2009 01:20 AM (GMT)
"Id recommend the pork it came out particularly well today"Ringo said to the newcomers
Teenage [void] - April 5, 2009 08:37 AM (GMT)
Nemah stared blankly at the boy, pursing her lips. She throwing the other shoe to the ground hesitately. Surely screams of house elves should be surrounding her by now. Fingers traced the tan tights masking her legs, hoping they hadn't been ripped in the process. Her tongue twitched behind her lips as she found herself trottering towards an apple. It's skin a desirable green. Her hand raised it to her lips and paused. "You really should tend to those eating habits of yours." she uttered to Ringo before biting into the fruit's flesh.
Pete Best - April 7, 2009 01:10 AM (GMT)
"I dont have eating habits i just come in here when i want to be alone...I should probably find a new place for that actually"Ringo said finishing his chicken leg
Teenage [void] - April 7, 2009 08:10 PM (GMT)
"Don't leave on account of my bad mood." She uttered, snatching another bite of her apple. A hand cleared her shoes from the floor as she motioned towards the table. Fingers dusted along the table edge finding their way to a chair. The wood cuddled her body as she relaxed into the shape. "I'll let you stay if you cheer me up..." She joked, throwing the apple core at the bin.
Pete Best - April 8, 2009 01:06 AM (GMT)
"Oh im not leaving i just need to find a new place to be alone this seems to be pretty popular all of the sudden"Ringo said watching Nemah throw her core into the trash"Swish"
Teenage [void] - April 8, 2009 02:29 PM (GMT)
"And why would you want to be alone when you in the presence of a god!" she uttered, a smile captured in her lips. Those pathetic little individuals had destroyed her good mood. She crossed an arm over her chest. A hand glossed a chain hanging from her neck, pulling it from the comforts of her skin.
Pete Best - April 9, 2009 02:12 AM (GMT)
"A goddess you say well im deeply honored is there anything you desire you supremeness?"Ringo asked bowing low
zamber - April 9, 2009 11:11 AM (GMT)
Jacob glanced up from the elves when he heard someone else coming into the kitchens. While he tried to choose what to eat he listened to the banter passing between the other two. Well it would seem that Nemah’s in a fantastic mood, he thought to himself, then wondered why people even think sarcastically as well as speak it.
Glancing back to the food he chose a chicken leg and signalled that the elves could put the food down, he sat on the floor with his back against the wall while he ate and a few seconds later a couple of elves sat with him. It was amassing how social the little creatures could be when hey spend most of their time trying not to be seen by the students.
Teenage [void] - April 9, 2009 08:49 PM (GMT)
Nemah clenched her lips together drifting over the possible outcomes of this little scheme. "Well, I do rather fancy a cup of coffee, if you'd be so kind." She uttered. Her back straightened as she lay one leg over the other. The boy to her left caught her eye. While Ringo seem interested to please her why not make the task a little more interesting. "Would master like anything while Ringo's on his feet?" She gestured towards Jacob. The boy seem to be purposely isolated themself from the two of them. Maybe a welcome would sway his thoughts.
Pete Best - April 10, 2009 12:10 AM (GMT)
"Well elves you heard the lady two coffees asap"Ringo said in the most commanding tone he could muster
zamber - April 11, 2009 02:46 PM (GMT)
Jacob glanced up from his chicken leg and smiled slightly. He was still amazed at how house elves loved to serve people; it was unnatural, wanting to be an underling. The smell of the Coffee drifted towards his and his nose twitch.
“Hmm, Coffee,” he said smile broadening, “something I’ve had to ban at home.” Amusement flickered across his eyes as he remembered all the coffee fuelled incidents had happened with his family, it would seem that they were not very tolerant of it and always went extremely hyper. It was the same with alcohol, it only took a little to get them drunk, and that was why he didn’t drink, or part of the reason anyway.
Pete Best - April 14, 2009 02:33 AM (GMT)
"You banned coffee?"Ringo said looking curiously at Jacob"Why would you do that?"
Teenage [void] - April 14, 2009 08:57 AM (GMT)
Nemah displayed a hand for the house elf wavering a cup near her. It was a shame Ringo hadn't offered to make the beverage himself, but probably tasted a lot better at the hands of the elf. She took a sip from the edge, feeling the stream gently brush past her cheeks. The caffeine fluttered through her system, boosting her mood. "Many see coffee as the fuel of mayhem!" She uttered to Ringo, obviously appalled at the rejection of coffee in one's home. It was the same for alcohol. Some can control the side effects others make fools out of themselves.
Pete Best - April 15, 2009 02:06 AM (GMT)
"Wasnt it Pandora thats responsible for mayhem?"Ringo asked laughing to himself
zamber - April 15, 2009 04:20 PM (GMT)
“My family seems to have a low tolerance for any stimulants at all, though some of them wouldn’t need them anyway,” he replied thinking about his youngest sister and the older of the twins. They seemed to spend all their time running around like hooligans and causing trouble.
“If you call mayhem an evil then yes, but I know plenty of people that love it,” he smiled once again being reminded of two of his siblings and the fact that one had named her horse Mayhem.
Finishing the last of his chicken leg, Jacob called over a house elf using his head and asked politely for some Pumpkin Juice. Within seconds the cold drink was within his possession and he thanked the elf that he recognised to have had a conversation with last time he had come down for a midnight snack. At that time he had been the only one down there.
Pete Best - April 16, 2009 01:13 AM (GMT)
"then ill assume that you have young children in your family?"Ringo asked Jake'You know iv always thought that if someone could harness the power of children the world would be set for ever"he added laughing
zamber - April 16, 2009 05:33 PM (GMT)
The words made him laugh before he answered the question, “there’s an eight year old, two nine year olds then Alexa, who’s on the year below me.” His siblings may have been quiet young but they seemed to act older than they were, though he doubted that they would ever fully grow up.
“Unfortunately kids seem uncontrollable to me,” he smiled, remembering growing up in a children’s home with loads of super heroes and gagsters running around, asking for sweets.
Teenage [void] - April 16, 2009 07:46 PM (GMT)
Nemah waved her hands innocently in the air. Fortunately sher had rested the cup of coffee safely on the table moments before. She could understand the wildish and uncontrollable younger siblings. She had but one herself, a boy only three years younger, however still at an immature, adolescent stage. Everything seemed to be a game with him, so fuelling this playfulness wasn't on her to do list. She twisterd her legs under the table, ankles delicately slipping past each other. Her hands curved round the cup drawing it to her lips for another sip.
"I have had many a fun night slamming the door in my brother's face when my parents were out. They seemed to throw me into the chaos and feel amused by my arguing. We always use to and still now stay out of each others ways, which is increasingly difficult since he started here two years ago!" She uttered, edging towards the sink.
Pete Best - April 17, 2009 01:19 AM (GMT)
"I actually dont have any siblings to talk about"Ringo said mournfully like there was a lot more behind his words
zamber - April 17, 2009 04:55 PM (GMT)
“I suppose the obvious answer is you don’t want them as they are such a burden and a pain, but I don’t know where I would be without mine, there the only family I have and I don’t make friends easy,” he turned serious as he spoke and ended up looking at his feet silently telling himself of for making his mood darken, now he just had to hope the others still kept in high spirits.
Pete Best - April 18, 2009 01:04 AM (GMT)
"Hey its not like i dont have them by choice but i can definitely relate about not making friends"
Teenage [void] - April 18, 2009 08:13 AM (GMT)
A smile glittered onto Nemah's face. "Hey, we'll be your friends." She uttered, hoping to raise his spirits. Her arm nudged Ringo. It was always hard socially in new schools and places you just had to make notions out of your comfort zone. She had experienced the same, but fortunately she had never been a shy person, learnt to deal with rejection. Although her brother annoyed her so she couldn't help but feel a slight affection over him and protectiveness that all family members shared. Her hands gripped the side as she leant casually. "I guess i'm just lucky having a safety net here if anything happens, even if my brother would refuse my company."
Pete Best - April 19, 2009 01:17 AM (GMT)
"yeah as long as you guys dont abandon me like everyone else it should work out swimmingly"Ringo said forcing himself to laughh
Teenage [void] - April 19, 2009 08:06 PM (GMT)
She glared at Ringo. "And why would we want to do that?" She uttered. The boy seemed to be hiding some valuable information about himself. He had obviously used his cunning to swerve the conversation in other directions. She kicked the back of the cupboard lightly, attracting blank gazes from the busily working house elves. Her arms folded neatly over her chest, revealing a more pronounced figure. "Hey kid, smile for me will ya!"Nemah twittered, her friendly smile returning for the benefit of the boy.
Pete Best - April 20, 2009 01:25 AM (GMT)
"i have these blackouts where i have no idea what happened and apparently i do jerky type things"Ringo said not even able to force a laugh at this point
zamber - April 21, 2009 07:03 PM (GMT)
“Well don’t worry, Once I make a friend I tend to stick by them, no matter how odd they are,” Jacob said, his grin once more appearing on his face. It was good to see that the mood didn’t stay down. He leant back on one of the work surfaces before asking one of the house elves for a drink. It returned almost instantly and handed him some ice cold pumpkin juice that he thanked the elf from with a grateful smile.
Pete Best - April 22, 2009 12:18 AM (GMT)
"Well thanks i really appreciate that"Ringo said grinning from ear to ear truly happy for once
Teenage [void] - April 22, 2009 08:49 PM (GMT)
"Blackouts huh?! Never heard that one before." She uttered. Her eyes gazed into an open space imagining the boy dancing in a tu- tu. That certainly would be embarassing, not only for him. It would probably follow with a nickname, that sticks to you like glue. Very hard to get rid of. It sounded awfully like drunkeness to her, but she had full trust in the newly be- friended student. Her weight shifted from one foot to the other as she attempted to settle her body of the side. Her knees bent, jumping freely onto the old stone.
Pete Best - April 23, 2009 01:31 AM (GMT)
"What you dont believe me? unfortunately i ha...."Ringo stopped short and went into a slight spasm which lasted several seconds. When it ended he looked up a strange glint was in his eyes. "Well if i had a heart im sure id be very touched by your sentiments toward my humble host.Ah we seem to be in the kitchen again how typical."The voice was Ringos but it seemed that there was another voice mixed in with it
zamber - April 23, 2009 05:16 PM (GMT)
Jacob cocked his head to the side at the change in Ringo and the strange words. He had only just met the boy but had a feeling that something wasn’t quite right. He quickly ran through a list of possible things to say, not sure what to do.
“Well you’ve got to eat,” he replied after a while, shrugging wondering if his words sounded odd. They did slightly to him but they often did. Usually each word he said he thought about before he uttered them and then spend time over analysing them, wondering how they sounded to the people around him. Luckily it didn’t stop him from hearing the response to what he had said.
Teenage [void] - April 23, 2009 05:49 PM (GMT)
Her legs wiggled through the air as her eyes jittered closed for short seconds. The disturbance of uncontrollable spasms alerted her thoughts once more. Her dazed person became spiritly and aggiated by the sudden drama from the boy. He wasn't joking! She thought hoping to explode into action, but what could she possibility do to help. She flashed Jacob a concerned look. Nemah was use to abnormal notions interferring in her life, however this was a new experience. The boy was obviously the same person he had been seconds ago, but the strange tint to his voice sent a ripple of goosebumps across her arms. She wasn't sure what she had just witnessed. A frown appeared beneath delicately shaped eyebrows. "Come on Ringo... put joking aside for once!" She uttered.
Pete Best - April 24, 2009 01:10 AM (GMT)
"You will notice that Ringo is no longer in control and as for joking jokes are a strictly human thing and therefore i never do so"
Teenage [void] - April 24, 2009 08:15 PM (GMT)
She wasn't sure what to make of this new spirit influencing her new friends body. Her mind protested against her better judgement. She liked to think she understood the teenage boy's mind and had no intensions of believing this wasn't a little teasing session. To experiment on a vulnerability girl and a self- conscious young boy displayed a cruelity she hadn't sensed in the boy. But yet Nemah decided to play his little game. "Human. Such an interesting state, isn't it?" She uttered. A sly grin flickered across her glossed lips. "So tender and breakable!" Her hand brushed across her cheek gently.
Pete Best - April 25, 2009 01:27 AM (GMT)
"Interesting....Not the word i would use to describe your kind weak flawed unworthy and disgusting are nearer the mark"Ringo said smiling evilly it was obvious nemah didnt believe any of it all the better for him
Teenage [void] - April 25, 2009 07:23 AM (GMT)
The situation had become stranger as every minute passed on. The boy showed no signs of returning to his usual state. The menacing tone lingering from his soft and delicate body exposed a red glow about his person. The demonic words cut through the tension like a knife, silencing the nervous. Whatever this acts purpose was it was surely going to achieve it.
Nemah folded her arms over her chest instinctively. Her legs jittered in place, urging to move towards the boy. The other boy showed no emotion to the events happening right infront of him. This concerned her. Jacob seemed like a panic attack victim and that would make everything ten times worse. The unearthy Ringo spat negativity into the room. "You have a very strong view of my kind." She uttered, tensing her arms slightly. "Please enlighten me about how you reckonise all these, replusive qualities!" She paused within her statement considering the right word to project.
Pete Best - April 25, 2009 05:25 PM (GMT)
"And to what purpose would that be?My informing you will not change your ways and would only waste my time"
