Title: Where does Religion take place?

I've been thinking about how Jo entwines religion in the HP books. Because they are magical witches and wizards, it only makes sense that they are not Christians, or any branch of Christianity. They seem to have replaced the phrase "Oh my God" with sayings like "Merlin's Beard!"
Yet, in Deathly Hallows, they say "Oh my God" in one chapter.
I, for one, am thoroughly confused on what Religion they follow.

I highly doubt a specific religion was concerned when Jo wrote the HP books. She has way too much common sense for that.
If a specific idea was promoted through the books, it would cause problems for herself, and the attitude of her fan base.
It does start off as a children book. Parents would be all over that.

Well, then again you always get those people that claim that here is a signficant similarity from Harry to Jesus. I've heard that from quite a few people. Whether it's religious or not, doesn't bother me. I think people are looking way too much into it.

Haha. Yeah, I've heard that. :D
You see what you want to see.

That's true. At least they're not trying to burn JK, lmao.

JK isnt basing her book off religion but on ancient Greek philosophies (realism) and the idea of a fourth level love possibly
She also used an ancient idea that evil could be manifested in one man.
