Upon the top-most tower of Hogwarts lie the rooftops. The altitude causes the air to be chilly and the breeze is almost unbearable. There is hardly any railing along the edges, and a sheer drop is the result of anyone accidently falling off.

Brittany walked out onto the roof, humming to herself. She sat down on the edge of the castle, dangling her legs. She took out her iPod and put the ear buds in her ears, adjusting her hair to cover her ears. It was awfully chilly that night, even for spring. She needed to get some space, however. She set her iPod to 'shuffle' and looked at the stars, singing quietly to herself.

' Wake up, my love... never thought you'd make me break me...
Now I'm up... from below- such a brilliant star you are...'

Black casually walked up to the rooftop, humming a small little tone, as he continued to skip out on his headmaster duties. After snaping out of a daydream, Ricky noticed Britt hanging out as well, and decided to sneak up behind her. He noticed she was busy listening to her iPod, so it should be a good surprise. He pulled out his hand, then waved it in a zig-zag, the wand shaping into a long stick, with a string and toy spider attached to the end. He then held his wand/stick forward, the spider slowly landing on her shoulder, while the fake began to creep down.

Brittany continued humming, kicking her feet back and forth nonchalantly. She began nodding her head to the music as a heavier song came on. She felt something tickling her shoulder, so she brushed it. Frowning, still feeling the itch, she brushed it once more, but felt something there that was not so innocent. She let out a scream and jumped, falling forwards as she did so. Reflexes kicked in and she grabbed the ledge before she fell.

"RICKY! Help me up!" she panted, obviously afraid. She didn't have her broom on her like she usually did, so heights in this situation was a whole different matter.

Ooc: Hahaha. Me and James had a conversation, trying to remember who fell off the roof awhile back. I guess I was right in saying it sounds like something you would do.

Ricky quickly changed his wand back, giving it a quick flick, as a wide platform appeared directly below Brittany's feet, slowing rising up to level her with the roof. He shook his head as he walked over to help her back on the roof.

"Sorry. Only you would freak out bad enough to actually fall off, Britt."

He picked up her Ipod from the rising platform, as it caught in during the fall, and handed it back to her.

OOC- Yeah, it was me, actually. ^_^ I'm clumsy like that...

She shook her head, breathing, slightly pale. She regained her standings and climbed back over to the roof with Ricky's help, grabbing her iPod stubbornly

"There's three things I don't mess with. The three 'S's' - snakes, spiders and sharks. Oh, and black and white checkered floors, but that's an entirely different story... what were you thinking anyway? Are you that bored that you had to scare the living crap out of me? I thought you being headmaster and all would make you more mature, but nope- not you! You're still the prankster..."

She smiled at him genuinely.

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind, Britt. Maturity is only a show for the students and staff. And when does someone need a reason prank? It's a art form. It's a lifestyle choice. It's mark of a true warrior...."

The young Headmaster gave a hearty laugh, grinning as he makes the Superman pose, staring off into the sky to an unknown target. Absolutely zero wind blowing his robe to give off the awesome affect.

Ooc: I knew it. :P Mystery solved.

She laughed, giving him a push with her hand to mess up his superman pose. She looked up at the sky, then looked back at him.

"I guess I should have expected it from you... I mean, it is officially April Fool's day. Remember last year when we sat up here and threw water balloons down at all the First Years and Filch, and he couldn't figure out where it was coming from, so he just blamed Peeves?"

She started giggling, reminiscing on her memory.

James made his way to the ancient castle's rooftop. A gusty wind blew past him, making him shiver. He pulled out his wand, gave it a small flick, and conjured a heavy, midnight-blue cloak. He had just fastened it when he heard a hair-standing scream. He ran across the rooftops in time to see Ricky pulling Britt up from the edge. He sighed deeply and made his way to his old friends.
"Brittany...." he said, smiling as Ricky made a Superman pose. He gave a nod to both of them as a sign of greeting. James' eyes lit up when he realized what had happened; he had seen the humor in their eyes. He nodded and then sat down on the floor, his legs crossed.
"Snakes, spiders, and sharks, yeah?" he asked Britt. "I, personally, am afraid of spiders, heights, and tight spaces." he grinned.

She raised an eyebrow at James as he approached. She had never figured him for one to be afraid of heights.

"So, does it bother you being this high up?"

James took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a brief moment. He looked at Britt and her carefree attitude; she sat at the edge of the roof. He remembered to exhale and then gave a weak nod.
"But, I do love the fresher, colder air. And I mean....if I do fall....I can save myself." he shuddered slightly. "What about you, Miss Clutz?" he laughed. Even though he knew Ricky had scared her, she still fell on her own account.

She laughed, shrugging.

"Still as clumsy as ever. I honestly don't know how I managed to land the Flying Professor's position. I mean- granted, I'm a gifted flyer, but I'm going to be in a responsible position to make sure that nobody else gets hurt. That should be interesting."

She sighed, scooting back to the edge of the roof, giving Ricky a challenging look in the process, as if to say, "Yeah, I dare you to do that again."

Vipera sighed and ascended the stairs, climbing and climbing until she came to the astronomy tower. She jumped upon the rusty ladder there and pulled herself up to the roof. She began to walk over the shingles- taking in the clear and wonderful fresh air as she went. it wasn't until she finally got to a flat roof instead of the spirals she was climbing that she noticed Britt, James, and Ricky.

"Oh-" she said, rather shocked. "Hello"

Glancing over at Vipera she smiled, patting next to her.

"Hey, Vipera. We were just talking- you're not intruding. Come on over here."

"Err.... alright." Vipera said as she moved towards the group and took a seat next to Britt. She pulled her knees to her chest and sighed, taking in the fresh air and relaxing as the wind began to play with her long dark hair, twisting and tossing it in the breezes.

Glancing up at the stars, she decided to take her shoes off, letting them fall off of the roof. She would summon them later. This was not as exciting as she remembered it being. Glancing across the Forbidden Forest, she noticed a flickering light. She squinted and bumped Vipera lightly, nodding her head towards the light.

"What's that?" she asked, arching an eyebrow at Britt as she stared at the light.

She shrugged, standing up and brushing her hands off. She stood, facing the Forbidden Forest with a look of curiosity on her face. She looked over to Ricky, Vipera and James.

"Are there any students out right now? Besides yourself, Vipera?"

"There shouldn't be. Peaks has taken it upon himself to guard the forest from students without special permission. And the Centaurs are mostly likely back at their pillar, stargazing."

He said, now getting up from his momentary silence. He held his hand above his eyes, pearing towards the sudden blinking of light in the forest.

She looked at Vipera with the mention of centaurs, but then acknowledged that Ricky was probably right. The stars were especially visible tonight, they wouldn't waste such a night for stargazing.

Pulling her wand out, she placed it to her throat, her voice instantly amplified- but before she said anything, she realized what the flickering light was.

"It's an SOS sign. They're using the light to convey the message that they're hurt!"

By the time Brittany had mentioned SOS, Ricky had already jumped off the rooftop, falling steadily towards the school grounds, before turning into his animagus. In a small burst of green flames, the strangely colored phoenix soared towards the distress signal. Hopefully Peaks has already gotten there for aid support.

Ooc: Do we have something planned, or are we just playing this by ear? :P

Vipera sighed and watched. 'It could be them- though no centaur would flash that. the like their privacy." she murmured, watching the light.

SOS... Yeah- that's what Britt said. Vipera skeptically stared at the light as Ricky jumped off the roof- so eager to save. She laughed. What a wonderful sight- watching him transform. It was interesting after all. Vipera wasn't an animagi. Actually, come to think of it- that'd be a good idea. She made a mental note.

"Well then, we're going yes?" She wasn't the savior kind of a girl but she supposed she could handle a little compassion tonight.

OOC- Definitely by ear. lmao. I just did that to liven the RP up. o.0

Shortly after nodding to Vipera regarding her plans to save whomever needed help, she too jumped off the roof, using her wand to glide herself down gently using a levitating charm. She landed softly and immediately turned into her animagi form- a Panther. Blending in with the night, she immediately began following Ricky.

Kerry ran up on the rooftop looking for Britt and Ricky. she was slightly out of breath, and hand one hand resting on her chest trying to catch her breath. she had just run out of the forest and was eager to find them. She needed their help, something was wrong with the centaurs.

"Britt? Ricky? where are you?" she called out hoping that they would answer.

Ooc: Fantastic. :P I'll see what I can do.

As he reached the border of the forest line, another burst of green flames emitted as he changed back, his robe giving a small whip from the pressure released, as he walked towards the source of the light. Exaiming the area, he continued to walk into the entrance untill suddenly he heard a cracking sound. Ricky crouched down and picked something small up, holding it up to the moonlight.

"Glass....?"

He looked down again, noticing the several pieces of broken glass and some kind of handle covering the forest ground. A mirror huh... He pondered curiously at the pieces, untill finally turning around to watch Britt arrive. He held up the glass piece, but then noticed something behind her.

"Who's that next to Vipera back on the roof?"

Kerry was beginning to get nervous, she had meet one of the school ghosts in the hallway and it had told her that Britt and Ricky were up here. But what if they weren't... what if she was wasting time looking for them up here.

"BRITT? RICKY?" she called out more loudly this time praying that they would be there.

Morphing back, she glanced behind her as Ricky had said that and squinted, trying to make out who it was. Still squinting she shrugged, turning her attention back to Ricky.

"I'm not sure- should we go back? I don't see anyone out here... keep Peakes here and bring the glass."

Kerry sighed, the panic was starting to rise. where the hell are they she thought to herself. She then turned, and jumped off the roof, catching herself with a levitating charm before she hit the ground. Her feet landed on the gorund with a soft thud, and she began to run towards the forest when all of the sudden she caught a glimpse of Britt and Ricky.

"BRITT!!!!!! OVER HERE, I need you help!" she screamed as she started running towards them.

Ricky placed his thumb on his mouth, giving out a low whistle towards the forest depth. He then preceeded to collect all the pieces into a pouch, then discarded his wand, turning back to Brittany again to see Kerry arriving.

"Kerry. What's the problem? Is there something wrong?"

Kerry ran up to them, slightly out of breath.
"There is something wrong with the centaurs. I was in the forest working on an old muggle car, trying to get it to magically run, you know as a lesson for my students, when all of the sudden i saw 3 centaurs running through the forest, almost screaming. It scared me so much that I ran out of the forest and came to look for you two. That when i saw the centaurs sign that something was wrong."

She glanced behind her, shortly after arriving back at the school behind Ricky. Centaurs... they're really becoming a nuisance this semester- and it hasn't even started yet!

"Could you make out anything that they were screaming? Which directin were they running from?"

Kerry shook her head.
"No not really but i have never seen them like that before. Something is going on, and whatever it is, its serious." she said.

She nodded in understanding. It hadn't been more than a week ago that she was attacked by a centaur in the Forbidden Forest. She knew that something was wrong, but she didn't know what exactly.

"Alright, well- I think it's only suitable that we confront the centaurs and find out exactly what the problem is from the source. Anyone disagree or have any better ideas?"

The young Headmaster was tapping his foot as he stared in the direction of the forest tree's tops. His arms were crossed, as he tuned into the conversation while he continued to stare. Something is wrong..... where is Peaks? After a moment, he pulled out his wand, formed a circle in the air, then appeared to whisper gibberish into the imaginary circle. After a moment, a small bubble appeared, and swiftly floated into the forest.

"I have sent Nessus a message in concerns to what is going on. He's my, err... personal link to the centaur tribe in the forest. If there is anything you two have forgotten to mention, I ask that you please tell me now."

He waited a moment, staring back into the forest tops. He then signed, and continued on, watching several birds scatter from a deeper part of the forest top.

"I will need one of you two, to go and inform Professor Joey and Madame Pomfrey. There may be a possiblity of another creature or creatures having migrated to the Forbidden Forest, and causing territory problems with the Centaurs. I will need our COMC teacher for her expertise, and the hospital ward to be prepared for possibly casualities."

Damn, why didn't I think of that? It was obvious that something had migrated and that it was stirring up problems within the Forbidden Forest. You could feel it in the air- a dramatic change. But what was it?

"If you would like, I will go and inform Professor Joey about this. Once I return, i think it would be a good idea to head off whatever is coming- if it is coming."

Watching the random birds scatter farther back into the Forest, she sighed. Great... this is just what we need, right before term...

With that, she leaped off of the roof once more, allowing herself to float gracefully to the ground with the use of her wand, and set off in the direction towards the main entrance of the castle.

It was cold and not to mention quiet, wel at least he had thought it would be quiet. Lukas clung onto the handle a little to hard, and the door had ran away from him screaming.Not physically of course, he guessed everything was just going wrong with him today. He wanted some quiet, maybe some alone time if that was possible. A friendly face might be good. He was feeling pretty down. Stepping onto the rooftop, he walked over to the side, sitting down with his back to the wall. He ignored the two adults, obviously having a private conversation, though they both looked pretty annoyed and worried at something. He should talk to Sky, but at the moment, he didn't know whether she would look at him. He wasn't sure whether his twin sister would forgive him. He guessed it served him right. Lifting his hand, he pulled it through his dirty blonde hair, folding his legs up.

Sky had seen her brother leave supper earlier and he didn't seem to be in his usual high spirits, which concerned her. She followed him quietly to make sure he would be ok and was suprised when he went to the rooftops, but followed afew minutes later and upon seeing no one with him she walked out and sat beside him punching his arm lghtly "whats up?"

Dustin arrived at the Roof one evening wishing to have some truly harmless fun.
He loved the scenery that the roof provided and was hoping the place might give an idea of song that he could try practicing singing. He recalled having a small part in the musical Oliver back home. There were a couple of other roles that he did for children theater too that was larger roles. Anyway he felt that he need to hone on his skills.


He walked to an area where nobody was. Gazing out on the scenery, he smiled. He was relaxed. So Dustin started singing in a fairly good voice but not a song from the musical. It was from an old song from a group called the Drifters. He just felt the song fit this location and his mood.

When this old world starts getting me down
And people are just too much for me to face
I climb way up to the top of the stairs
And all my cares just drift right into space
On the roof, it's peaceful as can be
And there the world below can't bother me
Let me tell you now


Then Dustin thought he noticed a shadow watching him? or was it more than one.
"Hello, is someone listening?" Dustin asked in an embarrassed voice.

Alexa walked out onto the school roof, making sure to stay away from the edge, heights was not something she liked to face, but the weather had just begged her to come outside and she had never been up here before. Hearing someone singing in a tuneful voice she couldn’t help but creep towards it, it had been so long since she had heard music of any sorts and it sounded quite pleasant.

“Oh yeah, um sorry,” she stuttered, walking into view, “it makes a nice change hearing someone singing that can actually sing,” she added not really sure what to say. The last person she had heard sing was her younger sister and it had been out of tune, but she had to tell her that it sounded fantastic just to spear her feelings though it didn’t spare anyone else any earache.

At first, Dustin was worried that the girl on the roof might tease him for singing to nobody in particular. But he realized that she liked his singing. Breathing a sign of relief, Dustin said,"Well, thanks, I do have some training in that back home. I was just up here trying to relax too."

Wondering what to say next, he slightly uneasily said,"Have we met before? My name is Dustin but I am not sure of your name." Realizing that he needed to smile and not to look worried, Dustin managed to show a believable smile. He did not want to look paranoid.
