Has anyone seen or read Death Note? If you guys have seen or read it, what's your fave characters?

A little summary: It's about Light Yagami who is bored student since life of crime in Japan is very high. Ryuk is a shinagami whose also bored that he dropped a book as known as 'Death Note' in the human world to get attention.

Not only there's manga and anime versions of Death Note, there's also live action flims of this anime. That's right. 3 live action films of it.

I'll start first. I've seen the anime and the live action films. Now I'm reading the manga. It's all good. My fave characters are L, Light, Ryuk, Matsuda and Misa. L and Light are very cool, Ryuk is a bit scary, but he's so interesting, Matsuda's very cute and Misa, well she's always bubbly and fun.

What do you guys think about Death Note if you've seen it? And what's our fave characters?

Finished it a while back, great series.

Favourite character and favourite 'character to choose where you want the series to progress' is Near. Something about his character is just likable. His theories and abilities are interesting to watch as well as his personality. I enjoyed the side plot with Mello and himself and how they saw each other, how it ended.

Hmm, I think a more personal reason as to why I like Near is that he seems like he has Asperger's Syndrome possible traits similar to my own.

Too many people hate Near's character... I never saw him as an L 'copy'. Ryuk is a favourite of mine too...


I picked up the first live action movie too. I got a special edition version and to my surprise, the presentation of the DVD came like the actual Death Note which I thought was a great touch:
