This is a rather sticky issue for me. I believe in every nation having the right to defend themselves, but i also believe that the use and proliferation of nuclear weaponary will be humanities downfall. In a way, they are good to have as deterent, but some nations may use them, to their and/or others deteriment. So i'll wait for what the region thinks, I think its important that the UN nations have something against non-UN nations, seeing as most are hostile towards us(i've ran into this on the NS forums before.) and they also outnumber us. So choose wisely, here is the issue, in transcript form:

Description: REALIZING that UN members are outnumbered by non members by about 3 to 1,

ACKNOWLEDGEING the fact that UN resolutions only affect UN members,

NOTICING the fact that many non member nations are hostile towards UN members,

REALIZING that the UN members need to be able to defend themselves if attacked,

NOTICING that the UN has twice defeated resolutions attempting to ban UN members from possessing nuclear weapons,

1. DECLARES that UN members are allowed to possess nuclear weapons to defend themselves from hostile nations,

2. PRESERVES the right for individual nations to decide if they want to possess nuclear weapons.

I believe that not one nation should be given the right to use nucealr weapons of its own volition. I say the charter should be reamended such that the UN itself controls nuclear weapons. On international territory under UN guard and the UN banner controlled by the UN security council we should allow nuclear weapons.

Perhaps one of us should take the inititive and make one up.
