Title: Fleet Moves Eastward

Byzantian - April 25, 2005 10:57 AM (GMT)
A large fleet, of the Byzantine navy, has begun moving eastward. Within two days it is expected to have reached the coast of the middle east. There was no official announcement or statement from the government, but it was a bit hard to hide the fact that over 2 dozen war ships have left port, in a group, heading in the same direction, from some military enthuthiasts.

Edessia - April 25, 2005 11:20 PM (GMT)
Uh, Doy ou plan on settling on Edessia's Coastline? tahts pretty much front and center from your position, whats up with your navy anyway? We dont want any trouble.

Byzantian - April 26, 2005 12:29 PM (GMT)
We also, are not looking for trouble with Edessia.
You can rest assured, this fleet is not intended for Edessian shores.
This is an expeditionary force.

Edessia - April 27, 2005 01:48 AM (GMT)
To where? hopefully not Crete. Or you just sailing for shits and giggles?

Byzantian - April 27, 2005 02:16 AM (GMT)
Naval Command has sent word to ships in the Adriatic, that they may be called home soon.

Edessia - April 28, 2005 12:34 AM (GMT)
I see, Is Byzantian interested in joint Naval exercises/training/competition with Edessia? we'd like to set something of a joint manueveurs and training, then a competition followed by a wargame, that might be interesting, share some tactics, help integrate better with the RUDF forces.

Byzantian - April 28, 2005 08:23 AM (GMT)
The fleet has split. Part of the fleet has landed at Agia Napa, in the south east of Cyprus.
Another part of the fleet has landed in Kyrenia, in the north. While another, the smallest division, has landed in Paphos on the west coast.

The government made an international announcement today, stating that this was not an invasion or land grab. This was purely an expeditionary exercise by the Byzantian fleet, in the waters and lands in the region. To further prove this was the case, the government revealed that several scientists and other civilian experts, were part of the fleet.

Gurich - April 29, 2005 01:18 AM (GMT)
Gurich sees the actions of the Byzantian navy as suspicious, for two reasons. Firstly, why bring a fleet along on a small expeditionary mission? This is a peaceful region. Secondly, the man who proclaims his innocence loudest names himself guilty.

Edessia - April 29, 2005 03:31 AM (GMT)
you know, we'd like to train peacefully sure, but this is sounding more and more as an expeditionary force to cap more land. Im worried Byzantian, dont be landing on other nations here mate.

Byzantian - April 29, 2005 01:58 PM (GMT)
We would be glad to hold joint exercises with the Edessian navy.

Had we been after more land, that would have been acomplished long ago, and certainly not under the cover of an 'expeditionary force'.

Edessia - April 30, 2005 01:32 AM (GMT)
ok, jsut let it be known that Cyprus is not up for negotiations or combat, so if yous till have troops there, get off we'll be monitoring fromt hea ir and coastlines, with ground forces, just in case Your forces, or the civlians try to start something.

Yeah, how do you want to do the exercises? I was thinking, Small boat on boat fights, a swap training seminar, where the other nations navy trains the other one for a month, then a submarine exercise, then a best two out of three, huge, full out, all classes of vessels, numerous amounts, including re-inforcemnets, balls-to-the-wall naval war game, to conclude what we have learned, the war game will hopefully include ground and air forces too, possible training exercise for beach storming and amphibous ground troop and marine force training seminar int here as well.

Byzantian - April 30, 2005 03:59 AM (GMT)
ooc:Get off? Or what? You dont control the island, your not the 'voice' of Cyprus.
From your comments, it seems you have the idea the island is yours, which it is not.

ic: We are currently reconsidering holding joint exercises with Edessia, after comments made by Edessia, which would indicate they are not ready to cooperate on that level.

Edessia - April 30, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
We are, were just making sure our asses are covered, adn that Cyprus isnt taken advantage of, we have a high turkish population, so were on the north end of Cyprus. Besides, I have about as much reason and right as you do to be on here anyway, btw dont OOC your comments about cyprus, it seems like your taking it personally or something, its hard to RP when your OOC the whole time.

Byzantian - May 1, 2005 01:36 AM (GMT)
ooc: true, lets stick OOC to PM from now ok?..

ic: We acknowlegde that you have as much right to be on here as we do. However, we find it perculiar that you have deployed forces, once we arrived. We have declared our intentions, and they are peacefull.

As for training exercises, the Chiefs of Staff, and government have cleared it. Naval command would like to see mock war games take place between our two navies.

Edessia - May 1, 2005 05:22 AM (GMT)
OOC: Yeah for sure, im thinking of using like a virtual battleship sim or something, or like lots of dice and rolling them.

IC: Yes, were peaceful here too, just carrying out monitoring observations of the anarchious populations, ensuring their, your and our safety. No need to worry.

Byzantian - May 1, 2005 09:34 AM (GMT)
I have a dice program in flash if you like.

We assure you, we are not in any danger, nor are the local people. Would the Edessian military also be interested in staging full scale war games, at a later date? They would involve both our air forces, navies, and armies.

Edessia - May 1, 2005 05:44 PM (GMT)
OOC:Yeah, tahts pretty cool, i was gonna use my DND dice, but id like to see your dice program, if you can send it to me, i'll give you my email over the PM. But yeah, we could play out events this way happening on cyprus, and you could draw progression maps or what not of the different factions on cyprus. It would be cool.

IC: Edessia, would defiantely be interested in a full scale war game, on multiple theatres hopefully. It would be an interesting match. Also our 70 000 space marines and Space Corps would liek to get in on it somehow.

Commonwealth of Slavic Byzantium - May 3, 2005 03:21 AM (GMT)
IC: We request permission to pertake in this war game as well. The Royal Slavic Byzantium Space Force would love an opportunity to participate in war games with another Space Force.

Edessia - May 3, 2005 04:15 AM (GMT)
IC: Oh, Oh! this is too good, said General Muamar Al-Akhbar, "Two space forces in the region? and two Royal Space forces? and Slavic nonetheless,t aht want to contend with us? Oh my, this is gonna rock! we gotta stop screwing around up there thinking we own the place, we have competition, I always love competition" As he sneered and talked gleefully, taking a hard drag from an imported Cuban Cigar, and touching on his duel Pearl Handled Revolvers.

Commonwealth of Slavic Byzantium - May 5, 2005 03:52 AM (GMT)
IC: "Sounds like we're well on our way to a good ol' fashioned rivalry." Said Flight Lieutenant Gabriel Angelos of the Varangian Guard 2nd Cohort Helljumpers while playing some sort of zero G sportsgame with his men. "This should give our men something else to do besides exploring the Sol System and playing pranks on their men. Jolly good fun"

Byzantian - May 5, 2005 05:21 AM (GMT)
If it is ok, Byzantine Nations military chiefs would like to observe your Space forces, as there are plans for a Space force of our own in the not too distant future. We believe observing your two forces, will assist us in this prcoess.

As for naval/air force exercises, we suggest some un-inhabitted Aegean islands as the venue.

Edessia - May 6, 2005 01:16 AM (GMT)
yes we were thinking multi naval/areial fronts in the Aegean and the small little ones near Siciliy. Of course you may observe our space forces, it would be great, you can learn from the both of us,a nd even give out suggestions if you see something we dont.
