Title: Economic sanctions against Mostarvia
Description: BFTA proposal
Tolomakia - April 15, 2005 09:01 AM (GMT)
On the basis of Article 4b of BFTA Chart, we are proposing economic sanctions against Mostarvia.
The reasons are:
- genocide and crimes against humanity have been committed by Mostarvian soldiers against the civil populations or Srbenya.
- the Mostarvian leaders are showing hostility and they are insulting other Balkan nations
The sanction we propose is full trade and financial embargo against Mostarvia.
Maybe the economic sanctions will make the Mostarvians reconsider their position and we can avoid a war.
Please remember that any nation may impose a veto against this proposal. Also remember that the deliberating period is seven days long.
Andrei Mihnea,
Foreign Affaires Minister
-Mostarvia- - April 15, 2005 09:10 AM (GMT)
OFFICIAL MOSTARVIAN GOVERNMENT STATEMENT:
Such a hostile move by any nation would be a declaration of war upon The People's Red Mostar Union of Mostarvia, and would lead in turn, to war to be declared on the offending nations who made such a hostile move.
Talk of genocide in Mostarvia is nothing but slanderous lies as my President has already stated, and people should wonder what ulterior motives certain individuals in certain nations are engaging upon in supporting such a move and the spreading of such lies.
Goran Landivic,
The People's Red Mostar Union of Mostarvia Foreign Affairs Minister
Byzantian - April 16, 2005 04:23 AM (GMT)
The Federation of Byzantine Nations is in full support of this proposal.
If this is what is needed to avoid war, then so be it.
USSM (Makharovsk) - April 16, 2005 09:01 AM (GMT)
This proposal has our government's full support.
Edessia - April 18, 2005 11:09 PM (GMT)
Go full steam ahead, we've been trying to get something liek this going for a while, so finally, excellent work.
Thracia - April 20, 2005 08:52 PM (GMT)
We support the economic sanctions and our government will ban the export to Mostarvia of any goods that may be used in military technology.
This is not tantamount ot war, as Mostarvia mistakenly claims. And we do not believe that the Mostarivan government is so crazy as to declare war on four or five nations at the same time.
Tolomakia - April 21, 2005 01:32 PM (GMT)
I would like to remind all of you that the voting ends tomorrow at 9:01 AM (forum time). Unless a member will vote against it, starting tomorrow all BFTA nations will ban all trade with Mostarvia.
Let's be sure that everybody understands that this does not include military actions against other nations' trading ships but only that our nations will not trade with Mostarvia.
The Bulgarite - April 21, 2005 01:42 PM (GMT)
Due to the fact, that up to now we have not been presented with undisputed evidence of Mostarvian soldiers committing genocide or crimes against humanity in Srebnya, we are against the proposed economic sanctions.
Tolomakia - April 21, 2005 02:24 PM (GMT)
We understand Bulgarite's position. Unless this negative vote is changed before the end of voting tomorrow, the motion will be rejected.
The Bulgarite - April 21, 2005 03:24 PM (GMT)
Due to recent information destributed by the RFM, we ask for two more days to reassess our position.
Tolomakia - April 21, 2005 05:08 PM (GMT)
We have no clear procedure for postponing the decisions but in this case we might as well be flexible. Bulgarite has, as any other member, vetoing power, so we can wait two more days before closing the debate.
Gurich - April 21, 2005 08:16 PM (GMT)
Gurich would like to state that by your own words in preparing to impose sanctions on Mostarvia, you must impose sanctions on us as well. We believe in justice. We too have broken the rules. Therefore we are ready to pay the price, unlike Mostarvia who sees war in every word.
-Mostarvia- - April 22, 2005 12:55 PM (GMT)
OFFICIAL MOSTARVIAN GOVERNMENT STATEMENT
The villagers reported killed and raped by Mostarvian soldiers is a lie.
In fact, they were killed and raped by the terrorists for assisting Mostarvian soldiers in seeking out the terrorists.
They were true heroes of Mostarvia, and were murdered by terrorists.
Those villagers who claim it was Mostarvian soldiers are in fact terrorist agents who spread propoganda such as the one spread to try to bring about disunity in Mostarvia, along with support for sanctions and military action against Mostarvia.
United Mostarvia always stands.

OFFICIAL MOSTARVIAN GOVERNMENT STATEMENT:
The President, the government, and people of The People's Red Mostar Union of Mostarvia does not care what any of these nations who wish to impose sanctions on Mostarvia thinks, as many of these nations have ulterior motives, and age long hatred of Mostarvia's strength.
The President wishes to emphasise on one thing in response to these pitiful sanctions of no meaning, and that is that Mostarvia will march forward in the war on terrorism, leaving 'Old Balkans' behind.
Molan Mandorovic, Mostar Castle Spokesperson
