It was a busy week for King Octave IV, and Prime Minister Gaston Harcourt as they moved to enact significant changes in Saint Jeanvrin's government and diplomatic relations. The first change enacted by Octave and Harcourt was the new national flag. "We were under significant political pressure" said Octave. "For years, the citizens of this nation have wanted a flag that represents our French heritage, but one that also pays respect to the Order of the Knights of Saint John who governed this nation before the establishment of the monarchy. We believe our new flag does just that." The adopted flag was commissioned by a citizens group, and approved by Parliament, Prime Minister Harcourt, and the King.

The unveiling of the flag at Vassiviere Palace earlier this week was an historical event. Citizens from all across Saint Jeanvrin gathered outside the palace as the Royal Family presented the flag to the nation. “It's a proud day for Saint Jeanvrin” said one citizen, “patriotism is at all time high!.” The king declared March 21st flag day in Saint Jeanvrin, and urged all citizens to display the new flag proudly, a symbol of respect to our rich national heritage.

In other news, King Octave was also busy this week on the international front, as he began his campaign for Saint Jeanvrin's inclusion in BFTA. His Majesty also made arrangements to travel to Daimyo Oda`s capital city for the League of Baltic Monarchies meeting. “In an effort to strengthen alliances and make new ones, it is imperative that Saint Jeanvrin be in attendance at this meeting” Octave said. He was also hopeful that if admitted into BFTA, Saint Jeanvrin's inclusion might help strengthen our weak economy. Economists were not as optimistic as the king however, as the farthing closed down again on the markets today.

“Saint Jeanvrin is heading in the right direction” the king said. “The future of our nation is bright”. As usual, Prime Minister Harcourt mimicked the comments of the king.
