Edessia's Comment: The large amount of nations in high ranging populations makes up the majority of the region. These leaves me to believe that the region's nation membership decline is due to complacency. Most people think or once did, that we had enough members and new ones arent neccessary, well its like an old hockey team, lots of veteran players, but sometimes you need young guns to spice it up and bring a fresh perspective. Regular Recruitment drives, and serious onces can help boost our numbers and allowing more nations in from our sister Region, Balkans would also help too, thats like our private harvest, we should use it more often and recruit from there as well and promote that region, also inviting nations here is a good idea, i did that all the time and brought in 5 nations, one which sadly died recently. I think the region is heading in the right direction, but we need a new look possibly or a new attitude, were slowly becoming the tired old supreme court judges, if you know what I mean. Things we could do would be to try and revive older forums and post in more diversified areas, also a scandal or a controversy doesnt hurt once in a while. Thank you for reading The Monthly Report.

PS Im thinking of changing it to the Quarterly Report.

Katja of Zahumlje - January 11, 2005 05:15 AM (GMT)
PS Im thinking of changing it to the Quarterly Report.

Excellency: That is exactly what you should NOT do IMHO.
Let's see how Paradizia does on the Balkans International Court of Justice. They are new there.
As for other things, sometimes things get a little quiet. Then things get noisy again.
It's cyclic.

Imam Hodza Nasrudin

International Terrans - January 11, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
I was very interested to see that I have the 5th highest GDP per capita in the region, despite my country's enormously anti-business politics.

I think, while interesting, we don't need one of these every week or so. There's just not enough changes in countries to justify it (and the hard work on your part, using NS economy so much must get annoying).

And yes, we haven't had a good scandal in awhile. I even had a civil war over the PM's wife, although I took the summer off and just declared a Federalist victory after it instead of RPing.

Thracia - January 11, 2005 10:50 PM (GMT)
Thank you, Edessia, for the report.

I have been trying to invite nations from other regions as well, but I haven't been very successfull lately.

As for Balkans, most of the nations there, unfortunately, are not active. I have written to them but received no response. And some of those that ARE active have expressed their preference to remain there and not to move to THE Balkans. Moreover, we should not forget that a number of nations in that region are controlled by people who have a nation here.

Edessia - January 12, 2005 05:25 AM (GMT)
That is very true, but why remain in a seemingly cut down version of the Balkans, where here u can have a map and stuff, hey its peoples preferences, maybe they formed friendships and such, who knows. Alright cool. I still think other nations besides you should participate in recuitment or at least approved inviting.

Thracia - January 12, 2005 08:10 PM (GMT)
Other nations, besides Thracia, can of course do their own recruitment and they have.

And I thank all the nations that invited their friends or relatives here.

Katja of Zahumlje - January 12, 2005 09:30 PM (GMT)
**takes bow** Nema na cemu!, I invited two nations and one invited a relative!

Edessia - January 22, 2005 12:07 AM (GMT)

Edessia - February 28, 2005 06:56 PM (GMT)
cool, where do you get these UN reports with their size and stuff listed numerically? or did you just go out and do one anyway?

Thracia - February 28, 2005 11:54 PM (GMT)
I actually used the NSEconomy web-site for the above report:

http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/nseconomy.p...ion=The_Balkans

You can now rank the nations there based on their population.

Edessia - March 4, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
Great, ill do that instead of actually manually writing them out in order. How exactly doesn one go about ranking them in population, like what buttons do you press to view it in that fashion?

Thracia - March 4, 2005 11:25 PM (GMT)
Just press the small upward arrow next to the population.

Edessia - March 5, 2005 11:36 PM (GMT)
oh ok, thanks so much!
