Title: Mostarvia warns Edessia over Nuclear/Atomic tests
Description: Edessia's mushroom clouds raises tension
-Mostarvia- - November 26, 2004 12:52 PM (GMT)
Balkans News Network Reports:
BREAKING NEWS....BREAKING NEWS...
The Mostarvian Government has in the last few minutes reacted to the apparent mushroom clouds in and over Edessia by saying that "Edessia should not get any silly notions and ideas" and that "It is important for Edessia it does not overstep the mark of acceptability of actions in Mostarvia's book" and to behave "responsibly".
Mostarvia went on to say that "Edessia's actions have put the Balkans region in danger, and for that, we can only condemn this action, and warn against similar actions in the future."
Dictator of New Solukia - November 26, 2004 12:59 PM (GMT)
This is a most disturbing remark. New Solukia is greatly against the use of nuclear weapons let alone the production of them. These tests have got to stop for the stability of the Balkans. Nuclear Radiation is deadly and it pollutes the ground and water. The pollution will spread and destroy the agriculture industries.
New Solukia will take this action into thought in future diplomatic and economical actions with Edessia.
Katja of Zahumlje - November 26, 2004 04:09 PM (GMT)
Her Majesty's Government views with alarm the nuclear aggression of Edessia. We protest this, and will no longer recognize the Govenment of Edessia. We object to being polluted without our consent.
Imam Hodza Nasrudin
Foreign Minister
Zahumlje
Ramostan - November 26, 2004 06:03 PM (GMT)
As Edessia's neighbor to the South, we pledge to share with the Balkan community any information we are able to "gather".
Prime Minister Javier de la Fuente
Temporary Paradiszia - November 26, 2004 08:14 PM (GMT)
The land south of Paradiszia is under the administration of Edessia, how great for a nation to have a nuclear test site one thousand miles from its homeland. I suggest that Edessian control over that land be revoked at once!
Thracia - November 26, 2004 10:50 PM (GMT)
Official Statement from the Government of Thracia:
The recently reported "mushroom clouds" in Edessia are a cause for deep concern for the entire region.
It is possible that the Edessian government may be testing some nuclear weapons. If that is the case, we condemn these tests and demand that they stop. In the past, even Tolomakia, the nation that insisted the most on having nuclear weapons, chose another region and another nation to test them. It did not conduct any tests in the Balkans. If Edessia is intent on developing nuclear weapons, we ask Edessia to follow Tolomakia's example.
----------------------------------------------------
Paradiszia's suggestion that Edessia's control over the land of Adriatic be revoked is areasonable punishment for Edessian actions and will be considered.
Edessia - November 27, 2004 01:16 AM (GMT)
Whoa whoa whoa. Zahumlje, Calm down. No one said it was nuclear, i did mention mushroom clouds, not a nuclear explosion. Its very possible to have mushroom clouds without nukes, so dont over-react. Thracia, dont remove my land. Now onto the Role-play i thought up this morning, before everyone reacted, and the proceeding reaction by this here reporter.
NNN(National News Network):
The government has managed to clear up somethings for the media. The two mushroom clouds that were over Edessias northern region. Were not nuclear. It was in fact a missle, but the strange thing was. The missle wasnt fired, it malfunctioned in the laboratory, and the result was terrible lab explosion killing dozens of Edessia's finest scientists. Also, i would like to not remain neutral as a reporter for a moment if i can, and scorn Zahumlje and those who condemned the actions, instead of investigating and helping the nation through diplomatic means, you cut off trade and tell us to F**K off! some friends we have in Europe...maybe you should have used UN powers to force the government to talk! maybe you should have asked questions, a representative would have come into contact, "neither confirm or deny" doesnt mean not open to discussion, that just means the government didnt know what happened! Now my friends are dead in an flame encrusted lab, and how this nation is helped in there time of crisis?, is by being shunned and cast out by people we thought were allies!. Im personally disappointed in Zahumlje, Edessians have always regarded Zahumljani as there allies, but how quick they are to impose sanctions, how quick they are to shun us!! *sobs* I'm Varonic Harovic *sobs more* signing off!
[Oh and paradiszia, heres from me to you as a person. Shut your mouth you uninformed ignorant. I said they were in Edessia, not in Edessia Italia, learn to read.]
PS: Word breakdown: Assume. Ass-U-Me, assuming only makes an Ass of you(the assuming party) and me. So try to remain neutral, calm and rational, life lesson there guys.
The Kingdom of Slavpo - November 27, 2004 02:14 AM (GMT)
The Kingdom of Slavpo fully supports Edessia in their exercises of national sovereignty.
Principality of Perejaslawl - November 27, 2004 03:51 AM (GMT)
Security agencies of Perejaslawl will further investigate the matter. While the course of action described by Edessian officials seems convincing, it could still be a cover-up for some underground weapon tests; and even if not, the question remains: what kind of weapons were developed in that laboratory? What are the other, non-radioactive, effects of this explosion on environment?
However, currently, government of Perejaslawl sees no reason to impose any kind of sanctions, or any other kind punitive measures, on Edessia.
Edessia - November 27, 2004 04:05 AM (GMT)
Thank you very much Slavpo, these are all within my mainlands, i see no problems here, i dont blow up non-nuclear warheads on your soil, its my soil. Dont complain, know what i mean. Thats my message to the region. Thanks for the support. Perejawslawl, good idea, my government is prepared to let a limited number of inspectors into the country, with Edessian supervisors. We do not know each other long enough for trust in letting massive inspection camps be set up in our region, we can only let in a few agents to do an investigation of the accident sites. I hope this is acceptable, you must understand, secret projects are still secret projects, if an information got out to the blackmarket, well then we cant be held responisble for anything that the black market causes.
Principality of Perejaslawl - November 27, 2004 04:33 AM (GMT)
We fully understand and accept the desire of Edessia to not widely disclose their modern military technologies. We only need enough information to convincingly state that this recent accident will not have any serious environmental consequences beyond Edessian border.
Ramostan - November 27, 2004 07:13 AM (GMT)
The idea of regional observers or agents seems to come from a sincere desire to inform the region's leaders.
This sounds like the best way to calm everyone down. It is not everyday mushroom clouds appear in your neighbor's skies. It is unsettling, and can rattle even the coolest heads.
Prime Minister de la Fuente
Edessia - November 27, 2004 07:28 AM (GMT)
And i fully recognize that. Btw, when, not if research resumes, because the investigation of the workers party is still underway, with some connection to this incident, as they were the only civilians present, or at least the "survivors" were all worker party. Sorta suspicious...dod research gone awry, right before the election...hmmm, so were looking into that. But afterwards certain technologies of this weapon maybe sold on the Balkan market. Some nations maybe interested, Srpska Kosovo is satisfied with their around the corner bullets, i presume.
-Mostarvia- - November 27, 2004 10:58 AM (GMT)
Balkans News Network Reports:
The Mostarvian Government has dismissed as 'Weak, transparent, and unconvincing lies' the Edessian claim that it's mushroom clouds were a labatory incident.
'It is quite clear what the cause of these explosions were, and it's quite clear that it was not a labatory incident, but an incident of action on purpose'
The Mostarvian statement went on to say that 'It is most likely the reporter for NNN was under the threat of his or his loved one's life if he did not make the report he did, being a mouthpiece for his government' and that 'Mostarvia for one, sees through these lies, whilst others are blinded by hope and denial of the horror that has been commited: The detonation of a nuclear weapon.' Mostarvia called on Edessia to 'admit the truth, so that a line can be drawn under this whole incident'
Mostarvia called on Edessia to compensate nations that could be affected by the detonation of the nuclear blast 'As a matter of importance and principle'
In news that may or may not be connected to the statement, it is reported that the Mostarvian military are mobilising for a 'military parade' in Mostarvia's capital, Mostar later today.....
The Kingdom of Slavpo - November 27, 2004 02:51 PM (GMT)
this does not look the most positive and altruistic of response from Mostarvia.
The Kingdom of Slavpo - November 27, 2004 02:56 PM (GMT)
There needs to be a clear outline of the fallout of these nuclear activities. Or this could evolve into a PR disaster
Bulgarska - November 27, 2004 07:13 PM (GMT)
Bulgarska will NOT take a side in this political conflict and will send a inspection from scientists and agents from BSS (Bulgarska sekretna slujba-Bulgarska secret service ) If edessia is ok with it of course and we will try to help with the investigation in order to clear this mess !
PS this is a request to edessia if is possible a comision will be sent to investigate !
President of Bulgarska:Antony Krasimirov
Edessia - November 27, 2004 10:21 PM (GMT)
No Bulgarska, Perejaslawl has sent their team you may not come.
In other news, where Mostarvia has gotten such rediculous claims, we are not sure. But for one, Why would we bomb our own country, destroying state of the art research labs, especially in an election year. Two, you have no evidence to back your claims, if you say spies were sent or you flew over, then ill sue the pants off of you. You have no right to fly over my nation, no one does, as no one has asked for permission yet. Except of course Perejaslawl and Ramostan. Which you are neither of. Three, im a capitalist based society, news agencies are not controlled or operated by any governments, the only regulations on the news channels are not to show nudity and grotesque, live violence past the hours of 6 pm. Finally, we have it in good notion that your nation was the one who backed the attacks on my nation by the Workers Union party, as being quite socialist yourself, and antagonist, i have no reason to believe not too. The internal investigations revealed more evidence pointing to the involvement and sabotage of the laboratories by Worker's party extremeists. What have you to say to that, since you love to assume so much. Oh and by the way, have you not seen the reports by Perejaslawl and Ramostan, and of course myself, all confirming this as a Non-Nuclear incident? obviously not you ignorant socialist!
--The President himself, Piotr Rychlik.
-Mostarvia- - November 28, 2004 11:18 AM (GMT)
To: Edessian President Piotr Rychlik
We have ways of spying on you. one of them is spelt like this S-A-T-E-L-L-I-T-E-S.
We may or may not have spies in Edessia, but we know you had spies in Mostarvia, well we rounded them up soon enough, your attempt at stirring up the crowd failed, and order was restored.
This attempt is seen as nothing short of hostile, and I have placed my armed forces on a war footing.
As to the claim we are socialist- a laughable claim to say the least.
As to the claim we support the 'Worker's Union Party' that is absolute balderdash.
The non nuclear incident claim is just a fantasy, and it is my guess that Perejaslawl and Ramostan have not got the utilities and means to prove this claim, like we have.
President Lodovic of Mostarvia
OOC: Just a word to everyone else, this is a controlled RP between me and Edessia that we have agreed on, so there is no real threat of war between us, and this is just shadow boxing, so no cause for real alarm. RP responses welcome.
Ramostan - November 28, 2004 06:12 PM (GMT)
Our little nation makes up in technology for what it lacks in boots. We are 100% positive that our Northern cities have recorded no radiological irregularities. However that still leaves the odd effect on our power grid, there was a momentary crash...
We would like to know more, and are working on it. Sabre rattling will only make Edessia less likely to deal with the Balkan community. Perhaps President Lodovic could take a stance that is less inviting to a regional nuclear exchange. This is a dangerous little tango Mostarvia and Edessia are dancing.
Prime Minister de la Fuente
(OOC: Just adding to rp.)
Edessia - November 28, 2004 06:52 PM (GMT)
"Today citizens of Edessia! We are moving forward!" shouts of joy can be heard from the crowd, as they listen to the prime ministers speech. "My colleague, president Rychlik has been working with Mostarvian officials to put this issue behind us!" Hurrah! shout the crowds. "We have been tirelessly in communications with some form of Mostarvian representatives. We are working with them to put this issue behind us." YAY! shouts the crowd. A reporter comes running in, passing and shoving over the security guards, "I must speak with the prime minister! let me through" The prime minister looks over curiously and slightly suprised. "Let him through." "The reporter pulls out a peice of paper from inside his jacket. The security guards quickly whip out their sidearms. "Easy guys, its only paper." The security guards give a sigh of relief as they walk off the podium. "Sir, latest reports from Mostarvia claim that the prison holding Edessian agents has been infiltrated, the prisoners taken away and then extracted via air to the homeland." Over head a large unmarked plane flies over them. "What!?! how is this possible...i had not ordered any infiltrations of any kind, whats going on!" The crowd is stunned in awe and lets out a faint, collective gasp.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT!!! dundundun...
Principality of Perejaslawl - November 28, 2004 09:50 PM (GMT)
Perejaslawl strongly condemns the recent Edessian act of force against Mostarvia. Such uninvited intevention of military aircraft into the airspace of another nation an outrageus violation of Mostarvian sovereign rights. We now expect the official statement from the government of Edessia on this matter. If this action was indeed sanctioned by the government, or carried out with their prior knowledge, we will have to reconsider our position towards Edessia in this crisis.
Edessia - November 28, 2004 10:58 PM (GMT)
Perejaslawl, they have rights to keep our citizens detained without contacting our government first about it? Those citizens were not military personel, they were civilian-agents. As a nation, we have a right to rescue our own people, besides, we did not use any agression, we didnt kill any guards, or wound any guards for that matter, we simply ran in, and ran out, taking back what is rightfully ours. Besides they had spy satelites looking over us, trying to pry into our networks of operation. We did no such thing, we simply ran in, and ran out. We stayed well out of their seaspace and caused no bodily harm to any of their citizens. We assure you, this operationw as no mistake, but did not technically use any act of agression.
Bulgarska - November 29, 2004 12:22 AM (GMT)
In the last few hours we were very shocked cause edessia refused us to let an investigation team in her country after the invitation for this we think that this is rude and we will have it in mind for the future cuase this is an insult and we ask the other nations to call a comission which will investigate the situation in edessia cause we think that it is out of control !

QUOTE (Edessia @ Nov 28 2004, 04:58 PM)
Perejaslawl, they have rights to keep our citizens detained without contacting our government first about it?
Yes, if these citizens were found breaking their law on their territory. Besides, most legal systems allow to detain suspects for a certain time before pressing charges, to gather information; apparently this is the case here.
QUOTE
Those citizens were not military personel, they were civilian-agents.
Doing what on the territory of a sovereign country?
If they were military, the appropriate conventions would apply, and they would be POW. As they are civilian, if link to Edessian government is proven, and it turns out they are intelligence agens, they could've been charged with espionage.

As a nation, we have a right to rescue our own people, besides, we did not use any agression, we didnt kill any guards, or wound any guards for that matter, we simply ran in, and ran out, taking back what is rightfully ours.
We haven't yet heard Mostarvian account of what happened, so for now we take the claims of no casualties with skepticism. Either way, trespassing the air space of another nation is a violation of its sovereignity, regardless of motives, and by all international laws, that alone gives Mostarvia right to shoot down any aircraft which attempts that, and detain any participants involved in such an operation.
QUOTE
Besides they had spy satelites looking over us, trying to pry into our networks of operation.
Every sufficiently developed country has a spy satellite network. We have one, even though it's not nearly as advanced. Space is beyond nation borders, so using spy satellites does not violate the nation sovereignity, and is thus a legitimate activity.
-Mostarvia- - November 29, 2004 11:29 AM (GMT)
Official Mostarvian Government Statement by Mostarvian President Lodovic:
Last night, at a holding facility in Mostarvia, that was holding Edessian Agents, Edessian Military Forces launced an attack to free the Edessian Agents in a terrorist attack.
2 Mostarvian Security Guards were killed in the attack, whilst the Mostarvian Security witheld fire so as not to kill the Edessian Agents that we wish to question.
It was sadly foreseen that Edessia would attempt such an act, and thus their escape by helicopters was not stopped by the Mostarvian Air Defence, as we wish to take them back alive.
Mostarvia strongly condemns this Edessian action, as a violation of Mostarvia's sovereignty, and as a second act of aggression against Mostarvia, the first being the Edessian Agents encouraging civil disobediance within Mostarvia's capital, Mostar.
The Edessian Agents were retaken prisoner after the Mostarvian Supreme Navy intercepted an Edessian Ship IN Mostarvia's territorial waters - a third aggressive act by Edessia towards Mostarvia.
It was found that the helicopters from the Edessian breakout of the Edessian Agents had landed on this ship.
The crew, Edessian agents, and the Edessian military forces who enacted the terrorist action on the holding facility were all taken prisoner without a shot fired.
The Edessian ship has been taken into Mostarvian custody, and all the people aboard the ship have been taken into Mostarvian custody and are being held at a secret location.
Owing to the three hostile and aggressive acts towards Mostarvia by Edessia, it would usually be a scenario and enough for Mostarvia to make a declaration of war upon Edessia.
However.
In line and accordance with the respect of and wishes by neighbours of Mostarvia, who we, the Mostarvian people admire and respect greatly, Mostarvia will do no such thing.
It must be understood however, that Edessia must be brought to account.
For Mostarvia to keep the peace with Edessia and for Mostarvia to release the prisoners, the following must be done by Edessia promptly:
1. Edessia gives Compensation in terms of financial and health care, that must be paid to all Balkans nations affected by the nuclear detonation Edessia carried out.
2. Edessia must admit that the mushroom clouds over it's territory was the result of a purposeful and controlled nuclear detonation it carried out, and to apologise thus.
3. Edessia will pay financial compensation to the families of the two killed Mostarvian Security guards, and to apologise publicly and without reservation for their deaths.
4. Edessia must apologise to the Mostarvian government and people for the aggressive acts it has commited against Mostarvia.
5. Edessia must keep all Military equipment out of Mostarvia's airspace and territorial waters.
6. Edessia agrees to allow Mostarvia to keep those responsible for the murders of the Mostarvian security guards, to be brought to Mostarvia justice. Those who did not pull the trigger will be released unharmed thus.
That is all.
President Lodovic of Mostarvia
The Kingdom of Slavpo - November 29, 2004 02:11 PM (GMT)
This Is Highly Alarming And Must Be Brought To The Region's Foreground
Edessia - November 30, 2004 01:43 AM (GMT)
Firs toff, how can you trsut mostarvia and their guards, those two probably killed themselves as theyw ere heavily stunned and blinded, and didnt even know what was going on, this is just a ploy by the Mostarvian government to milk the juices out of Edessia. Thos epeopel you picked up, as you probably don't know what Edessian MILITARY SHIPS look like, was an oil tanker. We use the same helicopter chassis for rapid transport in our oil industries, and the stealth technology is far more advanced on military helicopters, beyond that of noise reduction and radar stealth. Who you captured were civilians, that is why they gave up without a shot...they were untrained, they probably carried a few weapons on board incase of terrorists attacking the tanker. The Edessian Trimarian was in Neutral waters. And the soldiers were home jsut fine, and by the way, they were unarmed, just to make sure no one got hotheaded. There home here safe and sound, so please return our civlians kindly, if you have the time. Btw i Will not agree to demand 1. 2 (as it was proved false by other nations), 3, and 4. Number 6, well we want our oil workers back, thanks. Although we are working with Mostarvia for peace initiatives, as this seems to be looming ever closer to the edge of war. Oh and For anyone who thinks my government is a bunch of directive psychos that put out controversies for fun, were not we dont put out controversies for any reason, this whole mushroom cloud thing resulted from a lab accident.
That is all.
Piotr Rychlik, President of Edessia

BREAKING NEWS... BREAKING NEWS.....
Within the last few minutes, the Mostarvian Government has announced it's navy has escorted the Edessian Ship it seized in Mostarvian waters out of Mostarvia's territory 'and is now on it's way back to Edessia'. the Mostarvian statement went on to say that '5 people originally on the ship when seized will not be returning home. this is because two attempted to escape whilst still in detention and were shot dead after a struggle, and 3 others are being charged with the murder of two Mostarvian Security guards during the Edessian breakout of Edessian Agents from a Mostarvian holding facility.' The statement continued, 'It would be wise if Edessia accepted these circumstances, the remaining crew aboard the Edessian ship are safe' and that 'Edessia should count themselves lucky they got off so easily for their actions' adding that 'Should Mostarvia find Edessian agents within it's borders, should Mostarvia find Military equipment in Mostarvia or it's waters, Edessia shall feel the full weight of Mostarvian wrath and justice'.
Mostarvia said it hoped 'it's generous actions and restraint, especially considering the circumstances that has led to this' would 'assure The Balkans region, peace will reign.'
Tolomakia - December 2, 2004 07:47 AM (GMT)
In case of war, Tolomakia will be neutral. However, the Air Force will shut down any foreign airplane flying without permission in our air space. We will shut first and ask questions later.
On the matter of nuclear testing, Tolomakia's position is that any nation should be free to decide about them. We strongly recommend that all testing should be made outside The Balkans (OOC: just make a new nation and use it for nuclear testing in Pacific or elsewhere).
We find the language Edessia used in this topic as being offending and inflammatory. More than the possible nuclear testing, the language has leaded to this situation. That's why Tolomakia is firmly supporting Paradiszia's proposal that Edessian control over area 29 be revoked at once.

BREAKING NEWS.....BREAKING NEWS....BREAKING NEWS
Within the last few minutes it has been announced by the Mostarvian Government that the three Edessian nationals charged with the murder of two Mostarvian Secutiry guards during Edessia's breakout of Edessian Agents held in Mostarvia, have been found guilty in a hearing session of the case overnight. The Mostarvian Government statement says that "After being found guilty of all serious charges, in accordance with Mostarvian law on such a serious issue of foreign attack and sabotage on Mostarvia's sovereignty, the 3 Edessian nationals were executed by a Mostarvian Army firing squad this morning." and that "The bullet riddled bodies shall be returned to Edessia via FedEx delivery." The Mostarvian statement went on to say that "The government of Mosatarvia and it's people, hope this shall be a lesson to any foreign nation, that any sabotage or attack on Mostarvia will not go unpunished, and that the bloodied nose Edessia has recieved from this incident, shall serve as a lesson to Edessia and those who may think along the same lines in terms of hostile foreign interventionary tactics in Mostarvia to refrain from doing so, and this punishment delivered on these three Edessian nationals shall draw a line under the matter."
Srpska Kosovo - December 2, 2004 04:14 PM (GMT)
The Republic of Srpska Kosovo is concerned by the speed with which the Edessian citizens captured by Mostarvia were tried and executed. A "hearing session of the case overnight" would allow the defendants and their attorneys little time if any to prepare and present a defense. Scheduling the execution immediately after the trial also eliminates the possibility of an appeal should new evidence come to light or should the defense team question the conduct of the case. We strongly urge Mostarvia to consider legal reforms that would guarantee all defendants what we consider to be basic human rights.
A travel advisory has been issued for Edessia and Mostarvia. Kosovars are warned to travel to those countries only at their own risk.
-Mostarvia- - December 2, 2004 05:15 PM (GMT)
Official Mostarvian Government Statement in response to Srpska Kosovo and the concerns raised:
On behalf of the Mostarvian Government and the Mostarvian people, I thank you for the concerns raised, which will be considered in future incidents if they should occur.
The fast-track hearings are reserved for cases of national security, such as sabotage and attacks by another nation or representatives acting on behalf of that nation upon the Sovereignty of Mostarvia.
In all other cases besides this, where Mostarvians have commited crimes, hearings are much slower in deliberation, however with fast-track hearings as already stated, it is the interest of national security and thus an imperitive it should be resolved as quickly as possible.
Concerning the travel advisory issued towards Mostarvia, I respect your free will to do this, but I must stress that this course of action is uneccesary.
Any national who visits Mostarvia without malicious intent has nothing to fear whatsoever, I can assure you this wholeheartedly.
However, Mostarvia fully supports the travel advisory you issued upon Edessia, as we feel the nation is unstable and aggressive towards neighbours and other nationals as proved with it's hostile actions towards Mostarvia.
Best Wishes,
President Lodovic of Mostarvia
Srpska Kosovo - December 2, 2004 05:29 PM (GMT)
Thank you for your kind response. The current travel advisory for Edessia and Mostarvia is not meant to be an indictment against either nation. Official Mostarvian Government Statement by President Lodovic of Mostarvia:
President Karonovic of Srpska Kosovo,
I and my nation thankyou for your clarification on your stance on the matter, and respect it in the view of safeguarding your nationals from the danger of conflict.
However, as Mostarvia and indeed the rest of the region has not heard from Edessia's Government on the issue for a few days now, Mostarvia must conclude for now at least that with the guilty verdict found upon the Edessian nationals for muder and sabotage of Mostarvian nationals and the subsequent pusnishment that that the issue has been resolved, and the threat of war lessened.
I have on behalf of my country imposed Mostarvian sanctions on Edessia. Other countries are free to not impose sanctions, but I have enacted this procedure as further punishment for Edessia's crimes againt Mostarvian sovereignty.
I firmly believe that with each passing hour, the situation is being eased and threat of war lessened, that I hope I can assure you.
If attacked by Edessia however, Mostarvia will defend itself to the hilt.
Best Wishes to you and your peoples,
President Lodovic Of Mostarvia
