Title: Regional Crises Require adjustment of
Description: BAHHB Budget Expectations

Katja of Zahumlje - September 18, 2004 05:39 AM (GMT)
Excellencies: Right now there are three collapsed nations, one nation awaiting final settlement and two coupe d'etat situations which require BAHHB to be of assistance. Mealand, Rozmania and Borgidium Forrest have fallen. Area 9 is on hold, and Peppestonia may collapse at any point. While the Paradizian donation has been of great help, it is my opinion we ought to ask for outside assitance from the Balkans Bank for Reconstruction, from any other agencies willing to help.
I want at this time to especially thank Tolomakia and Slavpo for their quick assisance in Transilvany, Mealand, Rozmania and Borgidium Forrest as well as the excellent work Annoyastan has been doing in Area 9. It has made a very positive difference and needs to be recognized and acknowleged.
Two other situations are a problem also for the Nations in question and potentially for the Region at large and BAHHB, namely Gurich, and Crimea. Both of these countries have had coups d'etat. There have been such events in this region before, but I personally cannot remember two within days of each other.
This may require other assistance than what BAHHB is configured to provide. I think it is important to ask the guidance of the other BAHHB members prior to taking any decision or actions on behalf of BAHHB.
The Foreign Office is not going to allow me into Gurich, or Crimea under current circumstances, I've already discussed this with Foreign Minister Imam Hodza Nasrudin, and it's simply not on.
I would like input as to what the best course of action would be, from the Member Nations of BAHHB.
Thank you
Dr. Nura Hodzic
Interim Chair BAHHB

The Kingdom of Slavpo - September 18, 2004 11:37 AM (GMT)
we must offer all the support, of every type, we can but essentially we cannot do much to interfere with sovreign states - i think we need to just ride out these ones and hope the everyday people don't suffer due to politics.

Tolomakia - September 20, 2004 06:42 AM (GMT)
Tolomakia has withdrawn all relief forces from former Transylvania, Rozmania and Mealand in sign of protest against the way Tediad-B is handling the regional affaires. All financial aid to BAHHB has also been withdrawn.

Thracia - September 20, 2004 08:41 PM (GMT)
Why is Tolomakia punishing an insititution that has nothing to do with the decisions of Tediad-B and is run by totally different people?

That is unfair...

Katja of Zahumlje - September 21, 2004 03:38 AM (GMT)
Excellencies: Yes it is most unfair, even when Her Majesty's Government was totally isolationist due problems wifh Peace-Keeping issues, there was no withdrawel from bAHHB! Instrad ,there werealternate arangements for providing assistance in the Region.

The dissatisfaction we had at that time was also made clear at that time. We think penelising the Region jn a matter unrelated to agiven issue is not very constructive.

The decision at this time is that BAHHB will concentrate resources directly on failed states, the situations of civil unrest will have to be the concern of other organizations.

I regret having to make such decision. Her Majesty informs me that she has authorised deployment of more peace-keepers and civil police units to make up for the shortfall.

Tolomakia - September 21, 2004 08:16 AM (GMT)
The decision is linked with the new approach of our government in regional affaires. We are disappointed to see that the basic principles of the region are no longer respected so we decided to have a more individualist foreign policy: Tolomakia will only interfere where we have a direct interest and only to pursue that specific interest.
