Title: Imperial Symbols
Description: Just for the record

The Eastern Roman Empire - August 14, 2004 04:41 PM (GMT)
I thought all dynasties should post something about our symbols here. Below are mine:

This is the (former) flag of the Palaeologus dynasty, and the flag of the Roman Empire.

This is the Palaeologus Jack. The four "B" around the crosses stand for the imperial motto, "Βασιλεύς Βασιλέων Βασιλεύων Βασιλεύσιν" (King of Kings ruling over Kings)

This is the East Roman Imperial Eagle. The two heads looking to east and west symbolize the Empire's domination over east and west.

This is a combination of the national flag and the Palaeologus jack, and is currently used as the Comnenus Jack.

I am looking forward to other rules' symbols.

Tsar Mikhail Romanov I - August 17, 2004 01:40 AM (GMT)
Basically around 1500 AD the Russian Imperial house chose the same standard as the Byzantine's which you can see on the left. The tricolour flag is our own invention though.

White means God,
which is over blue, which represents the Tsar,
who is over red, which means the people,
and God is above them both

Thracia - August 17, 2004 05:58 AM (GMT)
CKIJ,

If you want to upload a picture in a post, then when you are composing the post, ry using the "File Attachments" function which you will find two lines above the "Add Reply" button.

i dont seem to have the ability to post attachments...

Thracia - August 17, 2004 11:09 PM (GMT)
Well, I think you do have that ability.

Try this:

Press the "add reply" button.

When the reply screen appears, use the "find" function, by pressing Ctrl and f simoultaneously.

In the find box, type: File attachments

The cursor should automatically go to the File Attachments section of the page.

Thracia all it does for me is take me to the words 'file attachment' in your instructions. it's really ridiculous how difficult it is to put in an image from one's own computer, i can't possibley remember where i got all that stuff!

Thracia - August 18, 2004 04:14 AM (GMT)
Well, I guess, attaching files is a privilege for the administrators.

I thought every member could do that, but, apparently not...

I did make a few changes in the forum controls, though.

Could you check if you can upload files now?

Katja of Zahumlje - August 18, 2004 05:07 AM (GMT)
Ah RHIP as the British charmingly say....
That would be ok but the other solution doesn't work so well either. I just blew 3 hours using tinypic because photobucket didn't want to play just now and the http extension for images is not allowed on this board, that would be ok if image worked. I'm in a worse mood than ever. Spent all day looking for my CD case and it is not to be found. It is beastly hot so I don't like looking for t hings then this nonsense. and so to bed. don't know whether i'll be on as Zahumlje or Zahumlje and Donjih Kraj tomorrow

Katja of Zahumlje - August 18, 2004 03:32 PM (GMT)
Cool! now I see it! Hvala najlipsa!

so here goes, the original flag, based on the arms of the Kotramanic family, the first real kings. The fleur de lis is said to come from the connection of the family with the House of Anjou. There were several marriages to members of the House of Anjou actually. We notice that only one file is possible this way so We will need to make a seperate post for other Royal Symbols of Zahumlje. This is better than not having the capacity so We really appreciate it!

Katja of Zahumlje - August 18, 2004 03:43 PM (GMT)
This is the coat of arms of the Kosaca family, which is the other important noble family of Zahumlje

Katja of Zahumlje - August 18, 2004 03:44 PM (GMT)
And this is the Castle.

i can now attch files. thanks Thracia

this is the coat of arms for the Abercromby family, the most prominent in IJ.

Catholic Knights of IslamJudaism - August 18, 2004 07:05 PM (GMT)
And this is the old flag of the old republic...when ISlam-Judaism was a Communist empire.

Thracia - August 19, 2004 01:20 AM (GMT)
I am glad that the changes I made have worked.

All the symbols and images are truly impressive!

Katja of Zahumlje - August 19, 2004 03:01 AM (GMT)
We're glad too, it was a great improvement on an otherwise difficult day!

Temporary Paradiszia - August 19, 2004 08:30 PM (GMT)
That is awsome Thracia, it will come in handy for events. I had to make a whole website to show my coronation!

Katja of Zahumlje - August 25, 2004 02:06 AM (GMT)
This is anothr old coat of Arms for the Realm. . .

Temporary Paradiszia - August 28, 2004 08:40 PM (GMT)
ooc: My actual famly coat of arms is a blue shield with a white cross, a bird of paradise is in the center looking forward (at you). On top is the knight's helmet with white feathers coming out, the helmet is faceing west. Underneath is white ribbon that says 'Paradis' the ends are curved inward and then come out again, the ribbion itself is curved to almost the middle of the cross. Olive braches surround it.

The coat of arms for the 'Imperial Family' is the same, but the knight's helmet is replaced with the Imperial Crown.

......Gee, it's too bad I can't design things on my computer like that.....
