Title: A request for food supplies.

Ponte-Corvo - May 19, 2004 09:14 AM (GMT)
Ponte Corvo requires imported food to feed its citizens, as it is too urban-dominated to be able to feed all its citizens even in a good harvest.

It would therefore like to come to an arrangement with other nations that have a surplus of agricultural produce; in particular, poorer nations would benefit from this as in return for a stable food supply, we can invest in improving the standard of living and development of industry inb their nation. As a devout region under Papal law and Christian ethics, we are also trustworthy not to exploit these conditions or force further agreements on the nation in return for continued favours, as some other nations do.

The request is not just to the less economically powerful, however, and I would be pleased to come to an agreement with anyone.

Ancient Races - May 19, 2004 01:31 PM (GMT)
Although we realize that it's not grain or corn, Ancient Races is willing to sell you Sodapop and Cheese at rock-bottom prices!
Being the no.2 in Sodapop and no.1 in Cheese-production in The Balkans, we leave competition far behind in these sectors :)

Daimyo Oda Nobunaga - May 19, 2004 06:34 PM (GMT)
We can sell you wheat and flour. If you want?

Ponte-Corvo - May 20, 2004 09:40 AM (GMT)
Ancient races, I thank you for your offer of cheese. What type is it? A supply of cheddar would be extremely welcome, especially if you have any Pilgrim's Choice or Cathedral Cheddar (no, seriously! they are the best!) French cheese or any product of sheep/goat/horse/mouse is next to heresy in sinfulness.

For a supply of cheddar to Ponte-Corvo, the Cardinal has authorised me to offer $4USD/kilo, with a minimum purchase of 100,000,000 kilos p/a.

*rei* Greetings Daimyo. Wheat and flour are the main things I seek. I am not aware of the going international rates; if you would be willing to suggest a price? How much could you supply p/a?

To both of you, my offer of Ponte-Corvan investment in industry stands, though I suspect neither of you really needs it. Thank you for your swift response in this matter.

Cypriot Socialist Federation - May 20, 2004 09:57 AM (GMT)

Srpska Kosovo - June 19, 2004 04:00 AM (GMT)
Srpska Kosovo is a small nation, but we are willing to offer wheat, peaches, grapes, pears and limited quantities of other products for export.

Thracia - June 19, 2004 06:06 AM (GMT)
And Thracia could offer to send corn to Ponte-Corvo.

International Terrans - June 19, 2004 06:04 PM (GMT)
The D.F.I.T. is willing to enter into a trade agreement over various types of meat. Our country is incapable of producing many grains, for the terrain is not well suited to agrarian farming. However, we can also provide a supply of fish from the trawlers near Jamestown Harbour.

Katja of Zahumlje - June 21, 2004 07:35 PM (GMT)
Zahumlje can offer surplus products such as sunflower oil, prscut, slanina, rye and barley. Beef is another possible export, not to mention the famous Zahumljani smoked trout.

The Eastern Roman Empire - June 21, 2004 08:12 PM (GMT)
Byzantium is famous for its olive oil, and several Greek and Turkish -and many other foods-. We can send you loads of food like potatoes, grain (we are from the largest exporters worldwide), olives, olive oil, and oranges.

Thracia - June 22, 2004 02:30 AM (GMT)
(ooc: Were there potatoes in the Balkans or in Asia Minor in Byzantine times, or did potato come to southeastern Europe after the discovery of Americas?)

catay - June 22, 2004 08:20 AM (GMT)
Potatoes come from the Americas

The Eastern Roman Empire - June 22, 2004 10:17 AM (GMT)
