The Zahumlje Film party is in the Outdoor Cinema, a theatre that is Zahumlje's answer to drive-in-theatres, only car-less. The party will feature refreshments, traditional Zahumljani fare, sarama, roast meats, salads, and Director's Cut pivo bez alkohol. The noted actor Valentin Mario Pilic has had to do double duty, attendign both the Zahumlje pre festival party and the Annoyastan pre-festival party, he rode to both on his famed big Lipezzanner, dressed in his famous 19th century style taje de luces. He was followed in a coach by his long time mistress Antonija Guevarra.
Stjepanagrad Ziv! was shown, and everyone was impressed with the beautiful Zahumljani folk score which accompanied the remarkable effects of the bloody siege of Stjepanagrad. Famous massacres and sniping incidents were re-enacted with grim exactness. This film was made actually in the bad neighborhood near the airport, sometimes called 'Area 51'.
The other film of the evening, 'The Story of Zahumljani Easter Eggs' was shown first so that the younger children would be asleep for the showing of 'Stjepanagrad Ziv!' because the content was considered too grim for young children who had not experienced the war.
Order was kept in the streets by detachments of Domobrana, and higher security matters were handled by Janissaries in their spectacular Ottoman Era dress uniforms.
The transport of most people has been accomplished by horse-drawn trams, the only motorized vehicles right now in Stjepanagrad are ambulances, fire trucks, police and military vehicles. Security is excellent, but not obtrusive.
The Capitol is full of young people haveing an utter blast!

Annoyastan - May 16, 2004 11:30 AM (GMT)
Annoyastani film fans are reporting excellent films, theaters, and parties at the student film fest. "You can tell these are student films," said one fan, "the production values aren't what you usually see. But they are taking chances, experimenting, trying things the more commercial film makers would avoid without a second thought. It's bold cinema, and refreshing, and exciting."

Annoyastni films are doing very well at the festival, especially The Greedy Capitalist Oligarchs are Sucking the Very Life’s-Blood Out of the Balkans, which has captivated many with its humorous songs. Other fan favorites include Stjepanagrad Ziv! and The fall of Imagava clan.

"The parties have been great," says Annoyastani student director Nikkita Samskaz. "So many film-makers, so many ideas, so many people excited about the possibilities of film. So much beer and Pelozca and Zahumljani delicacies! This has been the best thing that has happened to me, ever!"

Cypriot Socialist Federation - May 16, 2004 12:00 PM (GMT)
Cyprus' film, March of Freedom, was considered wonderfoul documentary by many film fans. "It is top," said a Turkish Cypriot, "so realistic, teaching us history. From Alexander to the Sultans of the Ottomans, it is a wonderfoul film".

The party for 'Toros y flamenco' was excellent, the tapas bar staffed by people from Blizanaci Vrh, and the flamenco dancers who pulled out all the stops danceing on tables, in the street and so on royally entertained everyone. The Escuela Espanol in Blizanaci Vrh, and the Vaqueros Union Apprentice Program cooperated greatly in this film, While Valentin Marijo Pilic did not appear in the film, he gave much needed pointers to the young people who enacted the parts of matadores, 'It actually amounted to a bloodless corrida' stated Valentin Marijo Pilic. 'In fact this was on a par with similar productions from Spain' stated Queen Katja, 'The young people in Zahumlje who made this film showed the incredible bond between these majestic animals and the people who care for them, and the bond between these animals and the people who used to kill them in ages past in Spain.' Featured in the film was a calf of 'jabonera' coloring, that is to say a white animal, a rare coloration in these beasts who usually are either black or chestnut colored. The dancers who performed were from the first business independently run by Roma in Zahumlje, namely the Carmen Amaya School of Dance and Musical Arts.
'Stjepanagrad Ziv and the Annoyastani hit,'The Greedy Capitalist Oligarchs are Sucking the Very Life’s-Blood Out of the Balkans' indeed won critical accaim for it's sound track. 'Stepanagrad Ziv' has that whole turbofolk thing going and the electrick sevdelinki, and true traditional music of Zahumlje, used effectively to help convey the sorrow of those terrible years of the siege, but the clever compositions of the student writers in Annoyastan's main entry were catchy, some in rap form. 'Everyone knows that the Balkans produce the BEST rap because all our languages rhym better than English, so it does not take as much effort to make a rap song in the first place, the removal of the technical difficulty means that it's possible to concentrate on the message! Of course the Corporate Capitalist Oligarchy is a target rich environment for the satirist.'
Lilijana Mekmetovic of World Socialist travel looked frazeled, sitting at a table with Bozidar Zidaric and the Zidaric family at the Annoyastan party. 'I'm just glad the logistics of this deal worked out so well. It helped greatly that Zahumlje is not involved in any foreign missions at this time because I can see that every single soldier was needed to help keep things working in an orderly fashion.'
The head of Policija Granica and the Ministry of Interior Affairs still are counting the many millions of visitors who came to Zahumlje to enjoy the festival, not only from The Balkans but from all over the known world.
'Area 51' a new night club in the Area 51 neighborhood, started as a Socialist Cooperative Enterprise rocked with loud Zahumljani rock and the lightshow was fantastic. Voting begins tonight on the festival.

***ZNN*** INTERESTING TRIVIA!!!
This is the original date of the very FIRST Academy Awards in the United States of America. For Unknown Reasons, suspected to be Reasons of State, it was moved to February. A totally stupid date to do anything like that!

Daimyo Oda Nobunaga - May 16, 2004 04:04 PM (GMT)
