Article of Principles of
The League of Balkan Monarchies
Article One
All member nations Respect the Rights of their Monarchs to rule over their Nation under the Laws their Nation created regarding their Monarchy when they joined. All Changes to the Situation of the Rights of the Monarch in a Nation must be approved by the League
Article Two
That the Monarchs respect the rights of their Citizens in their Kingdoms, and that any violation of citizens rights under their own nations law, may if that nation agrees, be appealed to this body.
Article Three
Laws regarding religion must allow for the existence of other religions, and the right for other religions to practice freely in the privacy of there own homes.
Article Four
That all nations in this League agree to use ANY and ALL means to keep the monarchs that sign into this league installed as Monarchs in their respective Nation.
Article Five
If the Struggle for the Creation of a Monarchy in an other Nation should arise, that is not a member of this league, the League may if by majority vote chose to intervene to help install a Monarch in that Country.
Article Six
This body should strive that one day that all nations in the Balkans are ruled by monarchs, and that this body is created as a means to achive that Goal.
Tsar Mikhail Romanov I - April 20, 2004 07:05 AM (GMT)
I have only two problems. With article one it has always been and shall always be the monarchs decision on how his or her own nation will be run. Their rights are given by God, not by a league.
The final article about striving to make the region all monarchic must be stricken. We cannot allow this to become a crusade to start all monarchies. This will be met with a violent backlash. And ultimately, there will always be Thracia even if we tried.
Daimyo Oda Nobunaga - April 20, 2004 09:46 AM (GMT)
I agree with you Tsar Mikhail Romanov I.Every ruler have the right
to decide how his or her nation will be run.
In this direction i`m despotism and my country don`t have constitution.
The Byzantine League - April 21, 2004 05:04 AM (GMT)
Article one was created with the hopes of preventing the powers of a Monarch from being taken away. This way if any changes to take away the power of a Monarch should arise, the League can prevent it from happening, but if a Nation seeks to increase the Power a Monarch has, then I would see it verry feasable that the League would aprove of it. Remember these Articles are desinged with the intent of Creating Monarchys, and Strengthening the ones that already exist.
Tsar Mikhail Romanov I - April 21, 2004 10:29 AM (GMT)
Ok Byzantine, I see where you are going with article 1. Perhaps it needs to be more carefully worded. The final article (article 6) however, still has to go.
Everlasting snow - April 24, 2004 06:33 AM (GMT)
The Queen of Everlasting snow agrees with the Tsar, that article one should be more carefully worded and that article six can't be in it.
Pope Christian VI - April 24, 2004 08:32 PM (GMT)
I personally think that this Article of Principles is fine. We are willing to submit to them.
Ponte-Corvo - May 20, 2004 09:51 AM (GMT)
I think instead of voting whether a country should be allowed to change its constitution as regards the monarchy, we should simply have a system where if the monarch's power is reduced too far we warn them that they are no longer true autocracies and unless steps are taken they must leave the league. That way we provide and incentive to stay Monarchical, but do not infringe on players' rights to alter their countries as they see fit.
Article 6 must go.
If these two changes are made, I would certainly sign up.
Perussia - May 20, 2004 10:17 PM (GMT)
I find that all of the articles, with the exception of the last one, are acceptable. My reason for the rejection of the last article is that one, some peoples and ethnic groups within the region are anti-monarchy and it would put a lot of pressure on a ruler to rule over people who want to elect their leaders and so on. Two, having nothing but monarchs would put this historically hostile region in a pre-wwI situation. You have 50 men/women in the position to offend one another, and by offending them you could start a war dragging them, and the people who have pledged to help them, into a bloody and pointless war that ultimately causes the downfall of the monarchy and much bitter resentment from the people. And we wouldn't want that would we?
