Hello, I am Panagiotis Psaropoulos President of the Agean Union a member State of the Byzantine League. Currently the Emperor of our Nation is Demetrious I. He succeded Empeor Nicholas the First a few months Back when he was Assasinated by a Member of the League Senate. So that People in the Region can know a bit more about our Great Nation, I will Post here, the founding document of the Allied States of the Byzantine League.



The Samos Treaty



This treaty is here by formed on the island of Samos for mutual protection and the shared economic growth of all its signatories. It is here by made in the hopes that our Lord and savior Jesus Christ will be well please by these member states Joining in Union with his divinely appointed Emperor, Nicholas the First, and his lineage to come.


Article One

This Union shall be called The Allied States of The Byzantine League; it shall be under the eternal presidency of the Emperor of the Byzantine republic.


Article Two
The Emperor shall be the head of state of all its member nations. All nations signing this treaty possessing Monarchies, their monarchs shall be dissolved, and in its place the Emperor shall be proclaimed it’s King.


Article Three

All nations signing this treaty may maintain their own legislature. All laws passed with in each member state must be approved by their legislature and by the President of the League. The President of the League also has the Authority to propose laws in any of the member nation’s legislatures.

Article Four

For purposes of shared economic Growth all the member nations economies shall be united into one, and all member nations shall have a shared currency. This currency will be the Byzantine Lyra.

Article Five

With special permission by the Emperor, any nation in addition to having the president of the League to be there head of state, may posses a prime minister if they so wish to have one.

Article Six

All member nations Armies shall be joined into one cohesive unit. But each member state may maintain there own police force.

Article Seven

The Official Religion of the Byzantine League shall be Orthodox Christianity. All Christians with in the League wishing their marriage to be recognized by the state must be married by an Orthodox Christian Priest. Although the Official Religion of the League is Orthodox Christianity, it does allow for the free practice of other religions.

Article Eight

There shall be on the island of Samos, the Legislative body of the Byzantine League. It shall be called the Byzantine League Senate. All laws passed regarding all member states of the League shall be passed by this body. All member nations of the League shall have two representatives to this Body.

Article Nine

All Amendments to this Treaty must be proposed by ¾’s vote of the Byzantine League Senate, and then must be approved by the President of the League.
