The Tolomakian Government decided today to reduce its nuclear arsenal by 20%. The decision has been taken after the Secret Services have recently updated the risk of external attack analyses, showing that currently the security situation in the Balkans has improved and there are fewer risks of aggressive maneuvers from other nations. In the same time, the report mentioned the potential threat represented by the extreme left political views signaled in some Balkan nations.
Putting in balance the to aspects, the Government decided to keep most of the nuclear weapons, dismissing the suggestions coming from Delegate Ministry for Environment, Mrs. Codruta Nedelcu. Mrs Nedelcu was pointing out that it may be the time for Tolomakia to cancel the nuclear weapons program (currently suspended) and to destroy the entire nuclear arsenal.
The Government also decided to continue and expand uranium mining activities in the so-called rain forest (actually, it's a conifer forest in the Carpathian Mountains but the UN reporter seem to have missed this details). The local mining activities ensures uranium for the three nuclear plants in Tolomakia but the Government wants to increase the production in order to export some radioactive materials. Again, Mrs. Nedelcu was against the decision and asked for the "immediate and complete shut-down of the mines". The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mrs. Florentina Popa, was very angry with this request and she said it was "irrational" and "completely unacceptable".
Consequently, Mrs. Nedelcu resigned from her position within the government and became the president of Ecosens, a large environmentalist NGO. No Delegate Ministry for Environment has been appointed yet. Some analysts speculate that probably the position will not be filled since the Government "doesn't actually care a bit about the environment".
Are you selling nuclear bombs?
No, we are going to detroy them in a clean and safe way. We don't want the fellow Balkan nations to blame us again for proliferating nuclear weapons in the region, there has been already to much discussion about it!
OK this is good.As far asi know we are a peaceful region.
