Title: The falling of NDST Dictatorship
Description: first reports and actions

Tolomakia - February 5, 2004 04:52 PM (GMT)
Following the unexpected fall of the NDST government, some minor incidents have been reported at the border between Tolomakia and former NDST.

A few hundreds refugees have passed the border in the first ours after the collaps of the authority and they are all receiving basic services (food, water, shelter, health care) in the refugees camps organized near the border. The RRR (Rapid Reaction for Refugees) Services are ready to accomodate as many people as it will be necessary.

Several Tolomakia NGOs have sent humanitarian expedition into former NDST territory. Also, all Tolomakian media corporations have sent their representatives in former NDST. First reports are showing that people are rather happy and reliefed that the oppresing dictatorship have collaps. In several major cities the citizens have organized administrative commetees that are clearly expressing thier option for democracy and liberty.

The Tolomakian North-West Army Corps has been placed on allert. However, no Tolomkian soldier will cross border unless this is stricty necessary for preserving the lifes of the former NDST citizens.

The Tolomakia government has announced its intention to provide economic help for any government that will choose to lead the former NDST towards democracy and free market economy.

/EDIT: It's true, Tolomakia is not a member of BAHHB. Actually, there is no charter ready and no "join here" thread. Anyway, we think this are minor details and this forum is the best place to post the information above.

We thank Tolomakia for its immediate mobilization to provide relief and help for the people in NDST.

Tolomakia's criticisms of this organization are valid. Indeed we need to improve ourselves. We need a charter and we need to have a membership application thread.

Thracia will take care of the application thread, but the charter is Perussia's responsibility.

Excellencies: Ecoville one our extraregional Allies has agreed to send aid. They have requested temporary easing of visa requirements for NGO workers. As Zahumlje is rather occupied with relief efforts in former New Jugoslavija maybe Srbija-Dalmacija, we have requested that the efforts of Ecoville be in cooperation with Tolomakia. No peace-keeping force will be included, the aid will be humanitarian only.
Best Wishes

Despite our late action (sorry, electrical issues are giving problems here), Byzanthine will send peacekeeping forces to NDST, 10,000 soldiers, along with humanitarian supply and 1,000 personnal from diverse fields to perfom humanitarian aid, including doctors, nurses, technicians of diverse fields and so on.

Latest reports from the former NDST territory describe the current situation as being “calm”. Both humanitarian convoys’ members and mass-media representatives mentioned the outstanding organization of local communities. In almost all cities and villages the citizens have formed Local Administrative Committees (LACs), who are managing the public services, with a clear focus on public order, food and water services and public health care. In response, the administrations in 37 Tolomakian towns, as well as over 50 Tolomakian NGOs, with financial support of the Tolomakian Government, have sent experts and trainers for local Militia and public administration. Theya re working closely with the very efficient Zahumljien teams coordinated by Ecoville.

Some problems have been reported in major cities, where the people seem not to manage so well common activities and social organization. Some looting and rioting have been signaled, especially in the Capital. As Byzanthine is the only nation that has sent peacekeeping forces so for, it may be a wise idea to direct Byzanthinian soldiers towards those regions to back-up the efforts of LACs.

Of course, the macro-economic situation is rather bad. Most economic activities have ceased and the population is heavily depending of foreign aid. Tolomakian Government has opened a 500 billions euros emergency account and is expected that major Tolomakian corporations will double the amount in the next few days. However, it is perhaps the time to invite a new nation (preferably of either Ukrainian or Hungarian culture) to take over the major political responsibilities in the former NDST territory.

Vey well, then. Our forces has been directed to those cities where major surveillance is needed.

The land of former NDST will be given to The Romany. In their first days there, however, the Roma may still need the help of Tolomakia and BAAHB on administering the territory.
