Title: Admissions
Byzantinople - November 23, 2003 04:26 AM (GMT)
Any nation wanting admission to the BFTA should post here.
Neo Praetoria - November 23, 2003 07:41 PM (GMT)
The Holy Roman Republic of Neo Praetoria humbly asks for admission in this Trade Agreement. We know that our economy is currently struggling, but we hope that that will soon change.
Thank you.
Thracia - November 23, 2003 07:45 PM (GMT)
The Thracian government supports Neo Praetoria's application, and, being a member of BFTA, votes IN FAVOR of accepting this nation into this agreement.
Byzantinople - November 24, 2003 12:22 AM (GMT)
Byzantinople votes IN FAVOR of admitting Neo Praetoria.
Yugoslovenia - November 24, 2003 02:43 AM (GMT)
So far there are two YES's...what about everyone else?
byzanthine - November 24, 2003 03:07 AM (GMT)
Byzanthine votes FOR the admision of Neo Praetoria.
Tolomakia - November 24, 2003 07:11 AM (GMT)
Tolomakia votes in favor of the admitting Neo Praetoria
New Achaea - November 24, 2003 07:53 AM (GMT)
New Achaea votes FOR admitting Neo Praetoria. Hopefully, your membership will help your economy. It did for us :)
byzanthine - November 24, 2003 11:01 PM (GMT)
Neo Praetoria has left the region, does anybody knows why?
Thracia - November 25, 2003 02:35 AM (GMT)
With regard to Neo Praetoria, there were some suspicions about who really controlled that nation. Was it a puppet state, or was it controlled by someone very close to another person in The Balkans?
In any case, Thracia is ready to renegotiate the entry of Neo Praetoria to The Balkans, if this nation chooses to re-apply.
But this time we would require more transparency and openness.
Ponte-Corvo - May 19, 2004 08:46 AM (GMT)
As a member of the affiliated region of Balkans, I wish to apply for membership of the BFTA. My economy is strong and the Cardinal sees friendly trade links as the key to success in many areas.
Thracia - May 19, 2004 08:25 PM (GMT)
Thracia's position is that we can accept Ponte-Corvo, but maybe only as an associate member. BFTA was designed to be an organization for nations of THE Balkans only.
Having said that, we should also admit that BFTA needs some reinvigoration, and Ponte-Corvo's membership may be able to liven things up in BFTA.
Daimyo Oda Nobunaga - May 20, 2004 12:04 PM (GMT)
I want also to apply for membership.
Thracia - May 20, 2004 04:11 PM (GMT)
Thracia fully supports Daimyo's membership in BFTA.
Daimyo Oda Nobunaga - May 20, 2004 07:04 PM (GMT)
Thank you for the support.
New Achaea - May 23, 2004 02:54 AM (GMT)
New Achaea would certainly love to see Daimyo Oda Nobunaga in the agreement, and would also support Ponte-Corvo's membership. (Hopefully this nation will soon be in this region so that it may fully join the agreement and 'reinvigorate' it as Thracia put it)
catay - June 4, 2004 09:06 AM (GMT)
The Republic of Catay wants to apply for membership of the Balkan Free Trade Agreement BFTA. We strongly believe that free trade in all of Balkans would lead to prosperity.
New Achaea - June 4, 2004 04:39 PM (GMT)
New Achaea happily votes FOR Catay's membership
Daimyo Oda Nobunaga - June 4, 2004 06:35 PM (GMT)
Thank you for the support New Achea. Am i now member to this treaty and what right i will have?
Thracia - June 4, 2004 07:03 PM (GMT)
Thracia votes in favor of Catay's membership to this treaty, and proposes that, unless there is an objection, Daimyo Oda Nobunaga be accepted as a full member.
catay - June 4, 2004 09:16 PM (GMT)
The Republic of Catay is delighted to be a member of the Balkan Free Trade Agreement. We are thankfull for the support of New Achea and Thracia. We also wish best of luck to the other new member, the Sultanate of Daimyo Oda.
The Republic of Catay will fully commit itself to harmonize her legislation with that of the Balkan Free Trade Agreement within the next year. We believe in free trade.
President of the Republic of Catay,
Cidolfas
P.S. We wish the program of the Balkan Free Trade Agreement for this year and a member list of the BFTA.
New Achaea - June 6, 2004 03:24 AM (GMT)
We agree with Thracia. The continued silence in regards to Daimyo Oda Nobunaga's acceptance from other voters might as well be considered abstains. So, we certainly welcome Daimyo to the BFTA
Hopefully things will go a bit more swiftly for Catay's admission
Paradiszia - June 6, 2004 06:12 PM (GMT)
My Advisors tell me Paradiszia should join this organization, and I agree. Will you admit Paradiszia into BFTA?
Thracia - June 6, 2004 08:17 PM (GMT)
Yes, we support Paradiszia's application.
New Achaea - June 7, 2004 03:16 AM (GMT)
Yet another application. A nice breath of life into the BFTA :).
New Achaea votes FOR Paradiszia's admission
catay - June 7, 2004 12:50 PM (GMT)
How and When is accesion to the BFTA confirmed?
Cidolfas of Catay
Daimyo Oda Nobunaga - June 7, 2004 07:01 PM (GMT)
Dear friends thank you for the support.
I will try to be worthy member of BFTA.
Daimyo Oda Nobunaga - June 7, 2004 07:03 PM (GMT)
My first official decision is to vote FOR the acceptance of Paradiszia to BFTA.
Paradiszia - June 13, 2004 04:29 PM (GMT)
Oh, this is great! Paradiszia has so much to offer!
Thracia - June 13, 2004 08:12 PM (GMT)
Our member-acceptance procedure required the "Yes" vote of all members for each application, but, given that some mebers have been inactive lately, perhaps we need to accept a simple majority vote?
catay - June 22, 2004 08:23 AM (GMT)
The Republic of Catay would like to be informed of her status in the BFTA, are we admitted to the BFTA? If still not, we would like to have a conclusion fast.
Looking forward to replies.
President of Catay,
Cidolfas
Thracia - June 22, 2004 03:17 PM (GMT)
Catay may consider itself a member of BFTA.
The problem with this organization is that there is no administrative or coordinating body to keep track of membership.
The Thracian government has decided to treat Catay as a member of BFTA. As soon as Catay declares that all tarrifs for Thracian goods are eliminated, Thracia will recioprocate and eliminate all tarrifs for commodities imported from Catay. Catay will receive the "Most Favoured Nation" status.
Paradiszia - June 24, 2004 01:10 AM (GMT)
How can it be called an organization if it's not organized?
Thracia - June 24, 2004 01:15 AM (GMT)
Paradiszia - June 24, 2004 06:55 PM (GMT)
The Confederation wanted relations with BFTA, but because of the fact it is not an organized body with a leader, they kind of gave up on it.
Edessia - August 16, 2004 10:20 PM (GMT)
well if its not organized is it still too late to declare a leader or something? id liek to join the BFTA as well if i could. thanks, if u guys still need an administrator or leader i could do it if u want.
Tolomakia - August 17, 2004 07:59 AM (GMT)
Actually, it is organized. According to the procedures, both Paradiszia and Catay may be considered members of BFTA as there were no objections (see Article 3, poinc, "Implicit approval" of the status).
By the way, Thracia, can you please move this thread:
http://invisionfree.com/forums/Balkanic_Un...p?showtopic=157to the BFTA Forum? The topic contains BFTA's chart and it may be useful for the new nations of the Balkans.
Regarding Edessia's request to join BFTA, Tolomakia votes AGAINST it, at least for the moment. We are not happy with Edessia's continuous claim for more land and we do not want to enter in any kind of economic relations with this nation at the time being.
The current members of BFTA are (ordered by joining date; in brackets the defunct nations):
Tolomakia
Yugoslovenia
Thracia
Pepestonia
New Achaea
Byzantinople
(Byzhantine)
(Perussia)
Paradiszia
Catay
The current Speaker is Yugoslovenia. However, considering that this nation has been less active lately, Tolomakia requests a new Speaker election. Since there are eight active members at the moment, this motion needs 6 votes (explicit or implicit) to pass.
Yugoslovenia - August 17, 2004 08:20 PM (GMT)
OOC: Sorry that I have not been very active with this lately...there hasn't been much action with this thread, and to be honest, I forgot all about it...but I move that a new election be held. I would like to propose that Paradiszia, if he agrees, be one of the candidates for the new election. He is active everywhere and knows whats going on.
Thracia - August 17, 2004 10:55 PM (GMT)
Thracia's seconds Yugoslovenia's proposal that new elections be held for the Speaker position.
As for Paradiszia's candidacy, well, Paradiszia is certainly very active, very knowledgable, but it would likely make a "tough" or authoritarian speaker.
---------------------------------------------------------
By the way, the thread with the BFTA charter was moved to the BFTA forum.
Daimyo Oda Nobunaga - August 18, 2004 12:04 PM (GMT)
Excuse me but i think im member of BFTA too.
