I recently purchased a 15 gig Iod and its the best. I love it and it has the caopacity to hold 30-7-HUNDRED songs. If you are interested in purchasing one and would like some specs or features, post and let me know.

Welcome to the wonderfull world of ipods!!! Ive had a first gen 10G, moving parts and all, and its aside from its flaky headphone jack and its decreasing battery life, its still running srong as ever. but id sure like a new one  highest capacity of course

They want 5 hundred for the 30 gig which holds 10 thousand songs. This may be what you are interested.

And thanx for the welcome :D

I wouldn't want to get a certine MP3 playre which i hear can get bad as it ages. i know people who hate it and like other ones better.

They look interesting, though they are rather expensive. :(

Yes they are but you are paying for a great quality product. I have not found any bad things about it exept the software will only work with Xp and 2000. No ME or erlier versions. And you know how Apple hates Microsoft.

<_< it seems that some of the most important featuers are being neglected here:
1) its not just an mp3 player but also a massive external hard drive!
2) it comes with the best mp3 software ever....iTunes
3) it (itunes) encodes in AAC formant rather than mp3(you can still do it in mp3 but whats the point?) wich is a smaller and better file format... no more "near cd quality" stuff, just pure cd quality all the way!!!

as for the "worse with age" the battery life is defenatly something that needs revamping but i jsut look at it as ive had mine for close to 3 years now and yes, the battery life is geting low. but i need/want a new one any way and when i get one then ill have a hella fast 10 firewire portable HD!

Apples have a rep for sucking and being the worst computers to buy. I don't think I would ever buy one. For one, they are slow, they are ugly, and they are expensive as all heck.

Either this is an ill-timed April Fools joke or you have been misinformed.

Apples are among the best computers to buy for several reasons. Since software for Apples has to be made specifically for Apple hardware, CPU cycles are generally faster and smoother. Simply, a 3ghz Apple is probably a "faster" 3ghz than a PC. Also, many graphical design companies find Apples appealing beacuse of the quality of software (Macromedia, Photoshop) optimized for Apples, and the stunning moniter/multimedia capabilities quality. I also don't see how you can rip on Apples being ugly as they are among the sleekest comps avaliable.

Well, there's my Apple pitch for the month. ^_^

Forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question, but what's the average price range for an i pod?

sutra_sek - May 12, 2004 03:29 AM (GMT)
15 gig= 300
20 gig= 400
40 gig= 500

*would rather just get a ten dollar CD player and listen to the music he already has*

But that's just what I think.
