man I really like this game especially after I went New Game+

Bill Gates - June 11, 2004 12:29 AM (GMT)
Yes, New Game+ is definitely a unique and cool concept to the game. Makes the second time go much faster and more interesting than the first.

BP9 - June 21, 2004 05:25 AM (GMT)
ok i have the game but whats new game+?

Mr. T - June 21, 2004 03:36 PM (GMT)
New Game+ is when you beat the game, you can start over again with all your items and abliites, but have to start levels over from the begining. I haven't beaten the game yet, but since I picked New Yevon the first time through, I'll do the Youth League second time through and try for a perfect game.

Here's my near-complete review.

The first time through, I didn't like X-2. I thought it was a good-for-nothing piece of poo. This is probably because I rushed through it. Thus I recieved about 45% completion with the crappy ending. I didn't save it as a new game + either.

The second time throug was better. I was POSITIVE that I was going to get 100% completion. I searched high and low for side-quests, items, dress spheres and garment grids. I reached level 99 and attained over 9999 HP, only because of items as aids, of course.

Except I gave the stolen sphere to New Yevon. I thought nothing of it at the time, later realizing what I had done after my cousin, who so graciously bought a strategy guide in order to help me, reveals this little tid-bit of information to me whilst I am well into the 4th chapter.

I didn't want to restart though... so I just got lazy and finished with 94%. I did, however, receive the "good" ending {which can be attained by pressing X in the farplane glen after the final battle and answering "Yes!" to the question}.... and let me tell you, the good ending is so rewarding and complete that I don't even feel that I need to get the perfect ending (of course I will though).

The battle system was an easy concept to grasp, though my cousin did not figure out how to use special dress spheres until the 5th chapter. She's just dumb that way. You will notice a return of the JOB SYSTEM; switching dress spheres in battle to use different skills and raise certain attributes. Garment Grids are also particularly helpful if you are going to challenge certain side-quests... say, Vio Infinite. Though this side-quest is not required, it is especially fun and challenging, as the bosses on every 20 floors are extremely difficult and prove a much, much tougher fight than the final boss himself.

The side-quests were fun; it was awesome that you could choose whatever quests you wanted to and thus you would hopefully be pleased with the outcome. However, because you do get to choose and because your choices do affect the ending and how the game progresses, it was mildly stupid. One decision can ruin an entire ending for you, as I earlier explained.

Okay, I gotta clean the bathroom now, so I will rap this up.

Fun: 94%
Controls: 95%
Battle System: 95%
Difficulty: 88%
Fiends: 86%
Music: 72%
Real-Time Graphics: 82%
Graphics: 90%
My average playing time: 80+ hours
Over-all grade: B

can someone help me with the Blue Bullet abilities for the Gun Mage? I shoot them and stuff but nothing happenns. :(

Canitoch - July 1, 2004 01:27 AM (GMT)
Blue Bullet..I think that's the enemy skill magic. Or its the special skills of a Gun Mage. The abilities of the command do better damage on certain enemies (i.e. the machinest skill or w/e does special damage to certain machina) But to learn the enemy skills, I believe they need to attack you with the spell. >.>

Baby Neko - July 1, 2004 01:32 AM (GMT)

Well, I did beat the game. But the endign was TOTALLY RUINED! I was fighting the final boss (bosses w/e) and my brother's friends, who are total perverts, where like "SHES SO SEXY! AND HER, WITH THE SKULL! BADASS!" So they're annoying comments of wanted to f*** them totaly ruined me enjoying the ending.

But it was good!
