Title: Teachers
Description: Dumb or True

Shawn Michaels - October 3, 2003 09:46 PM (GMT)
Today during "activity period" my friend threw a book on the floor and just was so frustrated saying,
"God! I hate this book!" This "media" teacher saw and she said,
"What did you just do? Come here, now." So my friend went, I checked in what the teacher would say to her because I found this amusing.

Ms.Chubb "Do you know what happens when you throw a book on the floor?"
Friend "...Um...It's on the floor?"
Ms.Chubb "No! *I forgot* You don't throw books on the floor!" I was a little angry that this teacher was screaming at my friend because of something so meaningless so I stepped in and said,
"You know, she has a reason to have said that."

Ms.Chubb "Excuse me?"
"You heard me." Then my regular teacher, and other teacher and some of my other friends kept saying, "Don't get involved Shaydah. You'll get in trouble." I thought this was true, but I didn't feel like leaving my friend alone with this "beast" but even if I wanted to leave, she still said,
"Come here young lady." So I got involved anyway. She told my friend to write a letter to the author and aplogize. Then she turned to me.

"You like to get into peoples issues?"
"Umm...I guess."
"Why?"
"Well it wasn't really an issue. I'm just helping her out."
"She doesn't need help, this is HER problem."
"Okay."
"I want you to write a letter to me and tell me why going into peoples issues is dumb."
"Sure."
"Want to know my room number?"
"No."
"My name?"
"Nah, it's okay."
"It's Ms.Chubb."
"Haha, okay."
"I want you to do this letter."
"Er...Okay." So I went to my seat and told myself I'd do it during lunch since I never eat anyway. Then after 5 miuntes she comes and says,
"Why aren't you doing your letter?"
"I'm doing it at lunch."
"No, do it now. I said get out your paper and do it now."
"No you didn't. I'm deciding to do it at lunch, okay?"
"I said now."
"Fine." So, I didn't do it. *laughs* I did it at lunch, and so did my friend. All she wrote was "Dear..." When I did at lunch I was just so pissed off so I wrote all this junk. It went something like this,

Dear Ms.Chubb,
You told me to write about how getting into peoples business is bad, so I should write about that. I should say, getting into peoples business is

AWFUL, DUMB, STUPID, INCONSIDERATE

But...I would be lying. See you think that getting into peoples business is always bad.

HEADLINE: IT ISN'T.

Okay, I'm sorry to be rude to somone of your stature. Yet, I still think it was wrong to make me write a letter.

In my religion, it says to help people if I can help them, exactly what I did. I don't think it was wrong to say "She has a reason to have dropped the book on the floor."

Okay, I got off subject. See the point is getting into peopels business is bad. Really lots of people told me that many times. You can tell me that, your free to, but the fact is I will always get into peoples business,
and you can't STOP me. (<< I crossed that out but only a little then she could see))

I'll try not to get into peoples business anymore.

Yours Truly,
Shaydah

Okay, my friend had a bad one too. xD The thing is, I put it in her mailbox, we both did, and now I'm wondering if what I did was wrong.

I'll tell you now, I quite honestly said the truth, what I believed, just harsh words. I just don't want to be suspended because of that. x_x Help.

And sorry for the long post. >_> ((I dunno who'll read this now. xD))

The point is, do you think I was wrong to do that? x_x A little side of me says I should go and apologize but the other says that I was honest, and that if I had sucked up that would be a shame to myself.

I've never done this to a teaher before, said all those bad stuff. *sigh* I feel bad, yes, but she deserved it greatly. So rude! >_<

Teachers like Chubb really really don't deserve to teach. What you did was right and entirely within reason. Just because she teaches you doesn't mean that she is your superior... if she crosses the line it is completly OK to get on her back. I've done it with many teachers, in fact, been slightly insolent for their own good. If a teacher is really great, I actually befriend him or her. And help them. So you, as the student, ARE the deciding force of what is right and waht is wrong in a teacher, and what the teacher did was clearly unfair.

Keep it up!

Hey,so teachers are cool, but did you know that some teachers actully didn't go to school for teaching?Yea I was told by one of my teachers that she didn't go to a 4 yr collage for a teacher, but taht was one of her only option because her family did not have enough money.SO yea.OR the teachers who are stuck up or smart mouth
do have problems, and when they chose to become a teacher...yea.... that's kinda messed up.

I've already given you a bit advice about this but now that I see what really happened, I have a few things to add.

First, it is but right to stand up for yourself and what you believe in. If you thought what she did was wrong then feel free to complain to her about that. It's just that.. you probably did it (that writing a letter thing) in an immature way.

I mean, you could have said things in a better light. Instead of flat out saying "I think what you did was stupid." and whatnot, you could have gave out reasons for it. You shouldn't stoop down to her level if she's so stupid, you should have shown her that you were right and you have evidence for doing so.

Second, is I guess it was right not to go into other people's business even if you're a friend to that someone. However, I commend you for being brave! :D This just shows how much of a good and loyal friend you are. ;)

Lastly, apologize? Well, if you did say all that or more then if maybe you can apologize for the rude words you said. But not change your view on this matter. You can apologize to be polite and having respect for her stature (or whatever) but without changing your opinion.

I think if she had a half a brain, she would accept your apology and hopefully all would go right. If not then that would be terrible. x_x I have nothing against teachers but sometimes not all of them are what they claim to be. It just doesn't mean because we're students they can push us around. We have brains too just like everyone else. Teachers aren't always right.

Ok, that was a bit long now was it?x_X Haha, good for you if you try to read half of what I said.

Yeah it was immature that's why I felt bad when I came home and like "Aw shit." T_T And yeah, apologize for being rude and all, but defintiley not change my point of view! o_O That would be...well...weird. xD I'm sure if she had just said flat out to stay out of her business I would've said "Okay, I'm just saying." And stayed out. -_- Besides, I think writing a letter is just...dumb. o_O

Yakisoba - October 8, 2003 06:03 PM (GMT)
wow, lol. yay for standing up for youself. i would have been like

"bitch, i'm making it my business. now its OUR business. so lets talk." [insert evil grin]

ok, maybe not, but i would have written a long letter with a detailed argument and countering any of her points. that's just me, hehe.

*stands up and claps* I'm actually a bit proud of you for standing up for yourself. I have had a couple of teacers who I just let push me around. All I ever ended up doing is regreting not telling them off. I mean, you should respect those who are older and in positions of authority, but you can't let them bully you just because of that. So yeah...I just think it was brave of you to do that and I hope she leaves you the heck alone from now on.

Shawn Michaels - October 8, 2003 10:40 PM (GMT)
I'm glad to say I gave her another letter without her telling me to do so, but I did it anyway. I told her I apologize about being rude and saying ruthless words because it was wrong of me to do that.

I told her even though I apologized about that, I was still not apologizing about getting into my friends business because I just don't believe I shouldn't have. I told her that I would've backed off but she told me to write a letter and because I was little stupified about that comment, I wrote a messy letter. I told her she should've jsut told me, instead of getting us in trouble.

I mean, she even had a smile on her face when she said that. That was a little low. So that's all. Yeah. :o

Metal Sonic - May 13, 2004 06:41 PM (GMT)
well you had a good reason and the issue is kinda dumb...if I did it I would be grounded and other stuff :(

Danimal - November 5, 2005 10:47 PM (GMT)
I don't understand.
What is the point of writing her a letter if she is standing right there?
What is the point of writing the author a letter? The book is not his or her property.

Ms. Chubb sounds like a self-righteous loser and a bully to me.
I'm normally respectful towards teachers, but I would have laughed in her face and dared her to do anything about it in this case, because the whole thing is so foolish. Seems to me like Ms. Chubb is the only one getting in other people's business. Talk about hypocrisy.
