Title: Morning battle

Sean Connery - August 23, 2003 02:37 AM (GMT)
A woman walked up to the stream and knelt down to drink from it, about three or for yards away from where it dropped in a mini-waterfall for ten yards before collecting in a pool at the base of the cliff. The sun was just brushing the tops of the trees behind her. The clearing was rather secluded, ringed by woods on all sides except for where the ground dropped off. Sahari leaned back, sitting on her heels. She listened to the wind in the trees for a moment before fully rising. The woman had her sword drawn before she even turned to see her challenger.
"Ah, I knew there would be someone here," she remarked as she slowly wheeled around. A sudden shreik heralded the arrival of her falcon, who perched on a tree nearest to his mistress.

The woman smirked slightly, stooping about ten feet in front of her opponent. Her long black hair, rested on her shoulders, as her bright violet eyes showed sure signs of excitement.
" morning to you to " she replied to the woman's remark, as she took her staff, and got into her favorite stance, holding her staff horizontally on front of her with one hand, the other suspended behind her, holing ready a long ebony dagger.
She planted her feet frimly in the ground, and watched her opponent's every move with anticipation.
" your move" she said with a calm smile

"Why thank you...so kind to let me start," she stalled, measuring distance with her eyes and sizing up her opponent in one scrutinizing gaze. Sahari's adversairy was younger, probably by about ten years or so. And she was the perfect distance away...
The warrioress used her Wind Walking spell, reappearing slightly to the right of the girl in the blink of an eye and bringing her sword around to strike.

Serenity gasped in surprise of her opopnent's sudden advance, and barely manages to move away in time. She moves back, a short way away from her opponent, clutching the small wound in her right arm, then raised her staff, using the water from the stream to form a misty cloud around the both of them.
Using Sahari's momentary blindness as a distration, Serenity forms 5 large ice needles from the dew she found on the grass at her feet. She sent the needles flying in Sahari's direction, then charged after them herself, raising her dagger...

Sean Connery - August 23, 2003 03:12 AM (GMT)
The woman swung her blade, shattering all but one of the needles. The final one grazed her side, forming a shallow cut. Without pausing, she drew her dagger and raised her sword at the same time. She then spun, lashing out with first her sword, and then extending to strike with her dagger.

Serenity dodged the sword, but failed at dogding the dagger. It had made a cut deep enough on er right shoulder for it to bleed pretty badly, thus casing her left arm, the one holding her dagger to be temporarily immobile.
" you're fast. " she remarked " and you have an advantage over me with that teleportation spell of yours" she finished smiling.
She jumped back from her opponent a few steps, gaining her enough time to cast a healing spell. She raised her staff, and attracted a few drops of water from the stream to her staff
" drops!" the droplets of water then fell neatly into place in her wound, became her own skin, and she healed herself.
" but of course, it'll take a little more than that to stop me"

Sean Connery - August 23, 2003 03:35 AM (GMT)
"Ah, I can see that...not bad," she casually remarked as she sheathed her dagger and pulled her left guard far down on her arm, exposing her wrist. "You realise that two can play at that," she continued, pressing her now glowing wrist against her cut side. When Sahari pulled her arm away, her cut was compleatly healed and the only mark left was the rip in her jacket. She fixed her guard and looked up at the girl. "By the way, names Sahari," she said as she formed a white fireball in her free hand, preparing to launch it.

" Serenity. Nice ta meet cha. " She replied, casting water to come out of her staff and encircle Sahari's fireball, turning it to ice. She smiled and pulled her staff towards her, sending the frozen fireball in her direction, catching it in her hand, then letting it go, suspending it in mid air.

She then launches it in sahari's direction, using that as a distraction to charge at her opponent from another direction, her dagger drawn and ready.

Sahari ducked under the chunk of ice. She then jumped up and over Serenity, slashing beneath her tucked legs with her sword. Without looking behind her, she landed and rolled once, twice, three times, ending in a standing position. She then turned, launching three of her throwing knives at the girl.

Serenity managed to dodge all of Sahari's attacks, but barely, the last knife cutting into her right thigh. The rest of the blades left a series of small cuts on her body. Serenity kneeled on the grass, pulling the knife out of her thigh with a scream of pain, then raised her staff, once again using water from the stream to heal herself. though the wound vanished, she still could not move like before, and she had a slight limp in her walk.

She made a small poison ice needle, and sent to right at Sahari, buying some time to regain her strength.

Sahari cartwheeled to the side, avoiding the ice. Her dagger was again in her hand in a moment, and the woman closed her eyes. When she opened them, they were glowing darkly. The same dark purple hue was shining from her two blades.
"SONG OF THE DAMNED!" the voice she spoke with was coming from her mouth, but it sounded as if from another. She charged, slashing quickly and fiercey to head, neck, legs, everything.

[] w00t! i found out how to reply on m y mom's compy....there's a problem with it...so this is a big thing. lol []

Maya feel to the ground from the attack's impact. Once sitting up, her body had been covered in blood and had a number of deep cuts and gashes. She clutched at her side, and stood. with a faint smile on her face. She raised her staff.
" Giver of life!" Her body was then showered in light, millions of tiny droplets of water surrounded her, filling her wounds, creating new skin over where she had been cut.

After healing her wounds, she stood straight, and bowed her head in her oponent's direction.

" more than just a worthy opponent you have shown to be, sahari." Serenity said smiling. She raised her head then added " I know i cantinue fighting you, but im sure you still have another stronger attack ready for me, and even I know when to stop."
she picked up her dagger, which was flnung a few feet away from her, wiped the blood off it's ebony blade, then tucked it back into her boot. She let go of her staff, letting it hover in mid air for a while, then it turned horizontally by itself, and turned it's side where a crystal had been twrds Sahari. Suddenly, the crystal popped out of it's socket, and floated towrads Sahar, stopping a few feet in front of her, jst enough for her to make out a vague pattern of a face behind the layers of crystal.

" That's iris. " Serenity said. He wishes to thank you for the battle."

After saying that bit, Iris flew back into it's socket, once again an ordinary blue crystal. Serenity put her hand around her staff, and waved Sahari a cheery farewell.

" I had a wonderful time fighting you, Sahari. I'd like to do battle with you again someday," With that, Serenity turned and left the glade.

Putting away her drawn weapons, the woman brought her fingers to her lips and whistled a high note. Miko swooped down from his perch, landing on the arm of his mistress. She moved her arm so she could stroke his head, looking at the area where Serenity had dissappeared into the forest. She stood thinking a few moments before she shook herself out of her thoughts. She held Miko up to her eye level. "That battle was something, wasn't it. Do you think we'll ever see her again?" Sahari inquired of her falcon. She smiled at the reply he shreiked and began walking. The two of them still had half a day left ahead. It looks to be a good day, too, she thought.
