Voted for Rock/Alterna since it's mainly what I listen to.

Depends on my mood actually. As long as my ears can tolerate it, I don't mind listening to it. Usually alterna bands from the 90s like Googoodolls, 3eb, Matchbox 20, etc. or Jrock/Jpop that are usually upbeat or old school rock like Metallica, Guns N Roses, etc., or classical rock, mainly Queen and even OPM like Eraserheads, Moonstar 88, Imago, Mayonaise, Kamikazee, Callalily, etc.

The rest of the categories, I don't actually listen to. The only hip hop songs I can tolerate are Freestyler and songs from Nobodyknows+(Japanese group famous for their songs Kokoro Odoru, ending song of SD Gundam Force and Nageriboshi/Shooting Star, 1st ending song of Naruto Shippuuden.) since their songs are usually upbeat. I do listen to songs with fast vocals like Flow, Sum41 and stuffs.

Mostly Alterna and Jrock/Jpop since eventhough I have a lot of songs in my playlist, I usually repeat and focus on 1-3 songs. XD Mainly because music plays a major role in my life, I usually pick a song that I like then listen to it to my heart's content. So yeah, it usually dictates the outcome of my works. Upbeat and fast music gives a more dynamic style while senti gives a simpler look.

There was this line that really got stucked in my head when thinking about "what I listen to". It was from the song 19-2000 by the Gorillaz, 2D was singing and one of the lines of the song was "Please repeat the message, it's the music that we choose." To me, it basically means that it's the song, not the band that matters.

Eitherways, yeah. Rock/Alterna then Jrock/Jpop. lol.

that is so true... sometimes i find i break out of these stereotypes all because the song even though i may never have liked the artist beforehand but when i have 500 cds (bought not downloaded) then i have a right to comment on my fluidity in music

Well I dont know what that's about...but I listen to just about everything...cept country and rap...the big ones for me though are jazz, classic rock and dance/techno music...

Hey, since when do I listen to emo and screamo? o__o

I listen to rock/alternative, a little slice of indie, and a lot of Nobuo/KT music. And anime soundtracks.

I guess mine would be Classical, Classic Rock, "KT Music", and a few songs from various other genres.

You're missing bluegrass, folk, anime themes, video game music, and parodies. Of those listed, though, I voted for classic rock, although I suppose I should have also voted for FF music, considering I have over 7 GB of it on my external hard drive. (How much is listened to on a regular basis? 5 songs: "Melodies of Life", "Melodies of Life (English)", "Black Mage Village", "Ukelele de Chocobo", and "Vamo allo Flamenco". Yes, I'm a FF9 fan. I ticked all of them!

The topic is ambiguous, so I interpreted it as being which genres my ears listen to on the radio or randomly.

If it meant what ones do i actually like...well Power Metal is my favourite, so i guess it goes under Other, because emo is more The Used, though I pick that genre too. Rock is good. Final Fantasy is getting dull. Japanese stuff is more like Anime soundtracks which are alright. Yeah...metal is the best. Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Rhapsody, Dragonforce, Masterplan, ftw.

I listen to pretty much a little bit of everything but my main is Techno/trance/dance/happy hardcore
I think ddr got me more into it then I started seaching underground radios and stuff so I really got into it, I still am, I love to dance to techno, i love hearing it, makes me hyper and happy, even if Im super depressed like if someone died, if I put techno on, its like my anti-drug it helps me recover, isnt that odd ;>
also music depends on my mood, techno is a random thing I can listen to all the time, other times I like my indie, synth pop, some rap, I can tolerate country depending on song, I mean really it just has to be a good song for me to like it :D
